Let's say that I want to immerse myself in steampunk, what movies/comics/tv shows/music/books/games/... would you recommend ?

Putting my whole outfit together for me and the hubs. Loving how itβs all coming together.
Am making an art piece to honor a steampunk airship captain who was a skunk. I will be using an actual skunk skull, and creating a frame and plaque along with the usual airship captain accessories/ acoutrements. I just can't think of a good name!
His backstory: very honorable yet ruthless privateer with a head for strategy, and outwitting his rivals/opponents. Most of his crew's fortune was made by collecting bounties on pirates. He cut a dashing figure in his custom uniform in the colors of his chosen crest: a crossed stemmed rose and axe, with a pole star above, and a frame of rope and wind. His ship's figurehead is Njord, Norse god of wind and sea.
On his last fateful day aboard his ship his prey disappeared into a dense fog bank. When it emerged on the other side, her crew had fitted her with lightweight armor, cannons, harpoons, and bigger sails. The prey became the hunter, bearing down on our captain's ship. He quickly ascertained that he was out-gunned, and would not be able to outrun the pirates. In a show of incredible honor and sacrifice, he ushered the crew of his ship to the life boats, using a smoke screen to shield the lifeboats from the fire of the pirates. His quick thinking saved the lives of every crew member, and he went down with his battered and splintered ship.
Iβm pleased with how well my teen daughterβs steampunk costume came together. She got lots of compliments. Someone called her a Clock Wizard, which she thought was delightful. Now the whole family wants a steampunk costume.
Let me know what you think. I'm thinking of doing a red bow tie this year. Maybe a colored shirt.
Iβm a character artist and I absolutely love the steampunk aesthetic so I wanted to try my hand at a steampunk design! Iβve been putting it off because the style is so intricate but I had so much fun :)
