I just found this subreddit a couple of days ago and I downloaded and had a little watch of this version of the show. I can see the appeal but like others have pointed out on here, the lore, history, and cartoons are just as important to me and my nostalgia as the rest of the show. I say all this to ask if there is a torrent link or site that lets me download the show as it was in its original form. And no the youtube channels dont really work or count for what im looking for. If there is a better subreddit to ask this question please let me know also!

Does anyone have a collection of the non edited episodes? I really like the additional fluff and puns in the show, it is an added charm to me.
Thank God and you guys the Smyth collection exists, but I yearn for more, can someone help me out?

I remember watching mythbusters and enjoying the history lessons, fun facts, etc. I can understand the flashbacks and we’re experts taken out, but I loved the sketches and history info. Even seeing the first versions of the myth. Is there anyone here that thinks like me?

After rebuilding my crashed storage array, I am reacquiring the Smyth series and to save space, I'm doing an HEVC re-encode. I'm about halfway through now and though some of the lower bitrate files went up in size (early seasons), 80% of the content is being pretty significantly reduced in file size.

So far, I've achieved a file compression of about 40% with no appreciable loss in picture or sound quality and Plex is playing everything just fine. I was wondering if this would be of interest to anyone else? If so, I can create and link a new torrent once this project is complete.

This update is the same as the May 2018 edition in terms of content, but is significantly smaller in file size. By re-encoding the series to 720p, 24fps, h265, and using other space-saving measures, the series has been reduced from ~220 GB to ~22 GB.

Most devices are compatible with h265 files, but your older devices may not necessarily work. I recommend testing this by only downloading 1 episode before moving on to the entire series.

I was yet again re-watching MythBusters and all the skips to and from the annoying Build Team myths and constant recaps of what happened 5 minute ago got on my nerves rather quickly.

I was looking for the edition without the build team, but this one is perfect!!! I can just watch Adam and Jamie part and skip to the next episode!

I was watching a show that's a guilty pleasure called "Buying blind" on Viaplay. However, watching it is almost unbearable with all the endless repeats and constantly showing what's already happened so far in the episode and what's "coming up" etc. SO MUCH FILLER! Basically, the show, like so many others suffers from all the problems that the original Mythbusters did. Each episode is over an hour long but if they were re-edited I bet each episode could be 10-20 minutes long! Have there been any other projects like Smyths that you know of, especially on the topic of restoration (houses, cars, whatever)?

Only found out about this project last week, and I've just got to the 2004 season. What's the deal with it going from E05 Buried in Concrete to E08 Myths Revisited, then E10 Scuba Diver and Car Capers. What happened to E06, E07 and E09? According to wiki's list of episodes, nothing is missing, and Myths Revisited should just be E06, Scuba E07 and so on. So is this just a goof by Smyth contributers?

Some of the earlier episode's Smyths are very low resolution with extreme compression, looks worse than a Video CD 1.0.

There there are some where too much was chopped out, like the one on the lawyer who ran through an "unbreakable" window and fell to his death.

The original episode showed their discovery that they couldn't break the window due to their lawyer-analog impacting it full on. They tried applying vacuum to the outside of the glass to replicate the "stack pressure" many tall building interiors have. They tried different speeds, different arrangements of their lawyer stand in but the glass would not break.

Then they changed their rig to put all the force onto a smaller area, like hitting it with a shoulder, and *shatter*. The Smyth version I have goes directly to the successful test. Also left out was the reveal with the news article on the actual event. I knew it wasn't a myth before seeing the original episode so watching their repeated fails to replicate it was very entertaining and educating.

Years later the world got to see a similar fail when Elon Musk broke two "unbreakable" windows on the Cybertruck by hurling a metal ball at them. *Tiny* impact point concentrating more force than the glass could handle, with it mounted more rigidly than they had it in testing. Classic example of engineers focusing too closely on the parts and not considering what will happen with the same conditions applied to the assembled system.

I'd like to watch this version, but I can't justify it taking up ~218gb of my HDD

Caught a glimpse of 'Mythbusters "There's Your Problem"' on broadcast television last night. It appears to be an official streamlined edit of Mythbusters. From what I could tell, they edited together myths on a similar theme into a 24 minute package, with some new voiceovers from the original narrator (sounding understandably less forceful) to tie things together.

The credits say that it was produced in Sydney, so I'm not sure if it is available outside of Australia. 20 episodes are available on iView, and Apple TV has a page.

Tried manually adding the pinned link like I saw in a recent post but still am not seeing any seeds. Is it just me?

Seems like the magnet/torrent link in the stickied post is "dead" (no seeders?). I've had it sitting on my torrent client for 48 hours now and its made 0 progress.

*** EDIT 1 *** I finally got it to work, I had to manually add the torrent as suggested by many people below!

I just found out these edits don't include subtitles, which is a bit of a problem for my family. Searching for this I found a couple posts of people who suggested ways to make it so people could contribute subtitles, but none of them linked to anything.
