spoiler: I've actually never played Ike before.
I have no idea which trophies I haven't unlocked yet. That requires cross-checking all 600+ trophies with a list that might not even be 100% accurate. Plus I haven't unlocked them yet, obviously.
I'm just too pro at this game... and don't wavedash much. MWAHAHA
Edit: Miss-spelt killing? Seriously? SHIT
Heyo. Just a nobody with some free time and an undeniable passion for Smash. Played all the Smash games (That are out in NA, that is. Demo included) and I've hosted a couple of little tourneys in my area.
I also make YTPs. Completely unrelated, shameless plug but there it is. AMA!
Title.

Hello, /r/smashbros!
I am a web developer and avid Smash fan (though not an avid poster) who has been looking for a new side project to fill my free time with. Recently I came to the realization that while the Smash community is enormous and incredibly active there does not seem to be a centralized location for tournament organization, tracking, and results. To me this represents a wonderful opportunity to create something which will provide the features and support that the community is lacking and desires.
I know a few sites do exist which provide tournament organization tools, however I have found that they tend to be tacked on to an existing community and only provide rudimentary support. I am here to ask if there is interest in a tool as such, and furthermore, what features the community would like to see included. Below is a running list of the features I personally believe would be valuable and a breakdown of how the features would work.
Tournament Organization
General
Tournament organizers will have the ability to create new tournaments with several events. Each event will have critical details about the event listed, such as time, location, entry fee, rules, etc. Users will be able to register for one or more events. Organizers can also restrict enrollment to exclude enrollment from conflicting categories (I.E. cannot register for Melee Casuals and Melee Pro).
Naturally there will a location for registrants to pose questions and for organizers to respond.
Stretch Goal: Accept entry fees on the site.
Private Tournaments
The ability to create private/invite only tournaments will be included. These tournaments would function exactly as regular tournaments but organizers would have the ability to restrict both the public visibility and registration to a list of users.
Tournament Execution
General
While a tournament is ongoing there will be several features to enhance the experience for competitors, attendees, and people tracking the tournament from home.
Match Tracking
Each match will be able to be tracked from character selection to stocks taken. Users will have the ability to view statistics about a particular match, a ladder as a whole, or for the entire tournament. Of course all of these stats will update in real time, as data is added.
Live Streams
It goes without saying that organizers will have the ability to attach live-streams to each tier of the tournament (I.E. a general tournament stream, an event stream, or a match stream).
Post Tournament
After a tournament has finished, of course, all of the data will remain visible for historical purposes.
Summary
My hope for this project is to have a central source which the community can rely on for all of its tournament organization and tracking needs. This is of course a very ambitious project and will require ample time for development and testing, which is why I want to get feedback from you, the people who would be using such a tool.
Please also bear in mind that what is listed in the feature list is both a work in progress and is by no means exhaustive.
What I Need From You
Your feedback, of course! Tell me what features you would like to see in a management tool such as this. This tool is designed to be unique to Smash, so make sure to include stuff that a general organizing tool might not handle.
Finally, as mentioned, this is a large project. This means I will need help! As mentioned above, I am a developer, not a designer. This means I can make the site work, but I will need help making it look good. I see plenty of art on this sub, so I know some of you are up to the task. A couple more coders (particularly those who specialize in frontend development) wouldn't hurt either. If you are interested in helping out (assuming this project moves forward) shoot me a PM and let me know how you would like to help out.
