Have you ever wanted to buy a game on Steam but didn't know if it was good? Have you ever had just enough money for an indie game but didn't know whether it was worth buying? Have you ever asked yourself, "Should I buy this game?"
Have you ever wanted to buy a game on Steam but didn't know if it was good? Have you ever had just enough money for an indie game but didn't know whether it was worth buying? Have you ever asked yourself, "Should I buy this game?"
Then you're in luck. Here, you can ask others questions about any game on Steam or any other game on any console, whether it is about the graphics, the plot, the game play, or even the length.

1 - Help Us Help You. When asking for a recommendation, help us by providing context to your question. Give us details about what types of games you enjoy, which games you don't enjoy, and why you're unsure about your purchase. People can't help you make a decision if you don't express yourself. For this reason, we require all posts to be at least 300 characters long. Why Does Rule 1 (Help Us Help You) Exist?
2 - You may not make threads on unreleased content. People can't give you a recommendation on something that no one had the chance to try out.
3 - Touchy Subjects, Appeals: In the cases where the mods have a problem with your conduct and there's no specific rule, moderator decisions stand. For disputes please Message the Moderators.
4 - No spoilers without a warning. Spoilers include, and are not limited to, revealing something about the plot late in the game or explaining an important plot point. This goes for both comments and posts. Mark something as a spoiler by putting the spoiler text in between >!

5 - Please no trading here. While giving away games is fine, this is not the place for the trading of games of any sort. Go to /r/SteamGameSwap to do that.
6 - You may not encourage in any way to illegally obtain or modify a game. While we do not care to pry into your own personal decision, we will not allow you to tell others to emulate, torrent, pirate, modify, or in any other way get a hold of a game without legal consent of the producer. Paid mods fall in this category, but free mods generally are fine. This goes for both comments and posts. Please read Why Does Rule 6 (No Emulation) Exist?
7 - No spam of any sort, including using the same words or phrases repeatedly, writing nonsense to bypass the minimum character limit, Youtube/Twitch channel promotions, promotion of your own game, repetitive/unwarranted recommendations, or links to websites outside of the normal realm of video game shopping.
8 - No key resellers.
9 - Do not try to profit from our community. This includes referral or affiliate links.
10 - This place is chill. We're talking about good video games. If you can't be chill, get out. Disagreements are okay. Heated discussions are okay. Attacking each other is not okay.
11 - We require a higher standard for YSB posts over and above an "I liked it" or "it's free". YSB posts should be proper reviews. This is to prevent low quality posts from cluttering the sub.
12 - No Politics: A game subreddit isn't really conducive to political discussion.
If you are having any sort of problem with the subreddit, don't hesitate to contact a mod.

Some of my favorite games that I have played include Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, all the Sims games, Zoo Tycoon, Diver Dave, 07 Runescape, Roller Coaster Tycoon, and Pikman 3 on Switch. I like "pretty" games where they are set in nice settings, as in not in dark dungeons, and I hate jump scares. I am a fan of simulation games as well as management games. Not a fan of shooting games or games that need lots of complicated battles to progress. I am looking for this to play on my Mac using Steam. What other games might I enjoy?
Hi!
I’m trying to decide between Cyberpunk 2077 with the Phantom Liberty DLC or waiting for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. I love open-world story-driven games like Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, and Fallout 4, especially when they have great side missions. I know Kingdom Come: Deliverance II isn’t out yet, but since I have a limited budget, I want to make the best choice. If you’ve played Kingdom Come: Deliverance I, I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether the sequel is worth waiting for. Is Cyberpunk 2077 with Phantom Liberty a better option right now, or should I hold out for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II?
I am also very interested in other suggestions for games!
(I play on ps5)
Thanks!
I had this idea for a hell drivers 2/hell let loose game, where two online teams compete for control of territories on a live interactive map. This where hell divers two's concept kicks in as planets are taken by the community in real time. However, instead of AI, opposing forces are other players fighting to defend their lands or take new ones. This also being set in our real world. The maps themselves being real countries with cities and such. One team acting as insurgent forces and the other the National army. Not quite sure where to start development wise for something like this. Any thoughts?
Disclaimer: I love sandbox games, sci fi, and space.
When I opened Steam the promo sale for it just showed up. I think it was around $12(?)
I was ready to buy it, but I remembered I still have games to complete on my backlog. Is No Man's Sky good enough to bypass that list? Like, is the wow factor worth playing it first over the games that are currently on my lineup?
Just for reference, my backlog consists of:
I don't have the ability to use a driving wheel, but I still want a racing game that has good adapted triggers for the PS5 controller, I'm looking for something that i can play offline for the most part, here is the racing games I've played in the past and enjoyed, Need for speed shift, need for speed unleashed 2, Grid 2 (all of these was on the PS3 and I loved them all) especially Grid 2 for how realistic the cars felt for the movement and control. is there anything similar to that but for PS5? again I would appreciate having the ability to play offline for the most part if possible.
Hi, I'm looking for 100 hours + game which have complex systems and gameplay. I loved satisfactory and factorio. I also love civilization 4 as strategy but 6 and 5 was not for me. I love X Com games because of complex tactics and posibility to level up soldiers. My favourite games allow me to analyze complex gameplay systems, looking at some statistics, taking a risk in action and learning a lot by making mistakes. I would like to play games in which I have to think a lot but there is no high curve of learning at beginnnig. I would like to play games which can be demanding at some point and they are not finishing themselves without player participation. What's yours recomnendations?
I just built my first ever PC and basically spared no expense. I am looking for something to really sink my teeth into. Something that will really suck me in. I have been looking at games like Helldivers, no man’s sky, and Sea of Thieves as potential games to play. However, I don’t really have a friend group to play any of these games with sadly so I’m weary to jump into any of them. Any recommendations for a game that will just pull me in? There’s no better feeling than a game that is so good you are thinking about 24/7. Some games that have done that to me: Elden Ring, Witcher 3, ME trilogy, and going way back was destiny 2. Kinda feeling in the mood for something akin to destiny but I’m obviously not playing that game (lol).
Looking for linear games in the vein of Titanfall 2, Jak 3, Kingdom Hearts 2, Doom, Uncharted 4, Hi-Fi Rush.
As you can tell from the titles I mentioned, I love action games and don't care if a game is short as long as it's entertaining.
My favorite genres are action adventure, FPS, platformers.
Platform: PC, all PlayStation consoles, all Xbox consoles, all Nintendo consoles

I’m looking for a survival game with that open world aspect, i also really enjoy competitive games and rust is a lot more than dayz it seems. However dayz seems a lot more complex, realistic and with much more to do, which i like, but i heard pvp is rare and the rust community seems like 2x bigger.
I’m also not able to play the game 6 hours everyday like some people say you should on rust, i’d be playing around 2-3 hours 4-5x a week.
Let me explain. Reading the book right now and I love it. I wish I could play an open-world game where I’m running away from someone(s) who are hunting me. They are tracking me while I have my own objective and means of survival. Interesting in gunplay and vehicles if possible. What games are like this? Play as the hunter or be hunted by a friend or friends — Like Moss and Chigurh.
I'm looking to get back into PvP FPS games, but pretty much everything I see on Steam which has been released in the past few years (2020 onward) is either known to be completely full of cheaters, or has ridiculous amounts of in-app purchases and paywalls.
Preferably games on Steam.
Even old games which still have players is fine.
I'm in Oceania so I would need servers around my region, or west coast US.
I personally enjoy open world RPGs, when at the same time I really enjoy pokemon. I am torn between the two after I completed both Fallout NV and pokemon sword. What I most like about these games is that their open world and that really draws me in. My favorite part of Fallout NV was the different endings and factions you could join and for Pokemon it's definitely the battles.
Thanks for the help!
I am basically looking for a game that is very similar to Destiny 2 in many aspects. From D2, I love the fairly simple yet rewarding items and cosmetics grind, the levelling system (power grind), and the multiplayer aspects like instanced areas and fireteams.
I am however looking for a game that runs my MacBook Air M2. As such I don't care for 3D or shooters, more just the aspects of D2 I've mentioned above.
I have played RDR2 and cyberpunk enough to the point that I am looking for something new. I mention those games because they are really the only two that I have played that made me re-fall in love with gaming (I’ve always loved it but you know what I mean). My gut is leaning toward Witcher 3 since I have never played but I am open for new suggestions…… but boy Cyberpunk really might be the goat
I'm pretty much set on buying Balatro, so my question isn't whether I should buy it, but rather where I should buy it - on my PS5 or on Steam. I kinda feel like it would be a nice game to have on the go with me on my laptop, but to be honest, I do almost all of my gaming on my PS5, so at the same time getting it elsewhere doesn’t quite make sense to me.
Hey all, I'm looking for a space sim kinda game,I don't know if this kind exists but worth a shot, games for PC without a monthly subscription please..
Pilot a space ship (not BE a spaceship) in first person. Might seem kinda boring but I want to be able to kinda fly in real time? Be able to sit back and pilot around? Be able to fly to asteroids to do mining, or accept shipping contracts and haul freight and what not?
Hopefully a newer game? Decent graphics to be able to enjoy the view and see the inside of a cockpit or pilots seat...
Any recommendations would be amazing thank you!
is the sonic frontiers digital deluxe edition good. It’s on a 65% discount now on the ps5 and i’m thinking of buying it. I never played any sonic game, but i saw that this one was very different to what they usually are like. I think it takes inspiration on breath of the wild and that’s my favorite game so will i like this one or nah?
Hello everyone after a short absence i finally have found some time to get back into playing some new games and there are a few that i was looking at, based on some of my past favorites could you guys please be so kind and help a gal out?
Past Favorites:
POE1, Far Cry 3, GTA V, RDR 2, SWTOR, Warframe, Grim Dawn, Warzone 1
Now there are a few games on my list that i want to try :
Skyrim&Fallout 4 (finished it on console but never with mods)
Mass Effect Andromeda
Far Cry 5 or 6
Like a Dragon : Infinite Wealth
Ghost Recon Wildlands
Palworld
any ARPG recommendations?
Spiderman 2
Witcher 3 (quit half way some years ago)
FF7 Remake or Rebirth
Id appreciate any help i can get!
The fromsoft games are always brought up as hard, but fair games. While I’ve tried them and love the boss design, I always get bored and haven’t finished any of them as they feel very clunky mechanically. Mostly just to say that the player inputs feel very slow which works fine for bosses but feels like sluggish and boring when trying to go through the world. Sekiro is my favorite out of the series as it is a bit simpler and more focused and feels more responsive.
Games I’m thinking about are like Hollow Knight, Cuphead, the old Contra games, and Furi. Stellar Blade is the closest example I can think of for a 3d game with similar kind of mechanics to the souls games (but of course the difficulty isn’t quite there). Also maybe can consider stuff like Doom Eternal and Halo on harder difficulties or some of Destiny 2’s endgame.
Are there any other games that you would think of?
Im into gore, with lots of blood and desmembration, i like extreme combat games, like the hack n slash genre such as devil may cry, ninja gaiden, old and new God of war, ghost of tsushima, a fast and fluid combat, thats smooth and satisfactory, with some cool tricks and moves in order to feel like the ultimate badass, i mainly play on PS5 but if you have some suggestions for PC i can do that too! What should i play next?
So I recently purchased a Super Nintendo and I recently started replaying super street fighter 2 on my Xbox and I have been enjoying it. So since it’s not that much on the Super Nintendo I thought it would be a great investment but what would you guys recommend because I’m looking for some Super Nintendo games to up my collection
I work an 8 hour shift alone every Sunday with usually 7 hours of the shift having nothing to do. I bring my switch to pass the time but have been burned out of the games I currently own. I have Mario kart, newest Mario party, smash, breath of the wild, and a few pokemon games. I’m looking for a new game to try out and I’m very open to different options. My only request is that it’s not too repetitive, games like smash, Mario kart and Mario party are fun but get tired quick.
OFF TOPIC :
Ubisoft Connect has been a nightmare for years, and we’ve had enough. Constant crashes, login issues, high resource usage, and the unnecessary requirement to launch it even when we buy games on Steam or Epic—why are we forced to deal with this? No one asked for this launcher, and it does nothing but ruin our experience.
2K Games listened to their players and removed their launcher. It’s time for Ubisoft to do the same. Sign the petition listed below on change.org and let’s make our voices heard! Thanks
I do love how it look and I am a sucker for story games, it’s on sale on steam (19 euros) and I have had my eye on it for quite a while. I play shooter games from time to time, but I can’t say I’m particularly good at it, especially when it comes to upgrades or how good one’s weapons are, I’m basically willing to play any game that has an interesting and immersive story. Should I wait? Get it on another console? Or just not buy it at all?
I am really looking for a game where I can just chill and hangout with other players with voice and or text chat. I used to thoroughly enjoy GTA 5 and RDR2 online but the amount of modders have pushed me away from being able to enjoy the hangouts. I tried VR chat and Second Life but they aren't working out for me so well. I would really like suggestions and keep in mind that multi-player and the ability to hangout without needing to fight or being forced to participate in missions is important, I want a lazy experience if possible.
Both ports are available on the Switch, and I have the urge to play an awesome 2D-platformer. Both games seem really good and are closely related, so I don't know what to choose. Which one do you guys recommend?
Some 2D games I love:
Shovel Knight (King Knight being my favorite campaign)
Super Mario World
DK Country 1 & 2
Hollow Knight
Infernax
Hi guys, i need your help. I've played The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elden ring, one of the Spider man games, Uncharted: Legacy of thieves and a few other games. The thing is, now that i've played all the cool and really good games, some of the other stuff i've played doesn't get me as hyped or invested. Do you guys have any suggestions for games that have a similar feel to them? I am open to try anything :D
Im thinking of buying arma reforger since it looks really fun and i really like mili sims recently but i dont know if imma play it also playing on ps5 lol but i dont know ive heard it should be really fun and there also came mods and there is a solo mode and i mostly play solo and so yea hit me up and let me know what you think, if this helps im playing gjost recon breakpoint right now lol bought season 1 pass just to let u know if that changes any thing so yea let me know if i should buy,
I am looking for a game that is a kind of sim city. Where you build a city but not only have to generate income from taxes but also from e.g. tourism (summer or winter) or import/export that you produce and sell goods..so a mix of sim city, transport tycoon and anno 1602,..!? Have city:skylines in consideration but that is more of a sim city (or is more possible with the dlc and mods?) ..or tropico? ..or Highrise city? Unfortunately there is no game that fulfills all my wishes (not all have to be anyway :) )
