Hey all, I know you get asked this a lot. I really did search through some of the more recent beginner posts to get some help but I feel like I'm still lost.
I'm a beginner. Never done a scrapbook ever. I'm in a loving relationship that I honestly feel is going the mile and it's about time we start collecting memories.
From the research I've done, it looks like the standard 12x12, 3 ring approach is best. I'm torn between the D ring or Post Bound Albums, but it looks like these 2 use the same plastic protector sheets so either would be good for a beginner because they're expandable and the pages are easier to get.
The problem I'm having is nearly every album I look at, some of the top comments say things like 'not for 12x12' or 'protectors will overhang this'. So I'm wondering if some folks could link me to maybe their favorite D ring or Post Bound Album that doesn't have this problem? Preferably off Amazon (I live in the US).
The goal of this book is to just collect memories, photos of life and family, and things like that.
Its a birthday card for a family member.
Hi everyone
I'm making a photo album from a bunch of pictures off my phone over the years. My phone photos tend to be shot in vertical/portrait mode.
Every slip-in photo album I've seen with space to write a note next to a photo is unfortunately designed for landscape images. I would rather not have to be turning the album every page to look at the photos in the proper orientation. I prefer slip-in as it's easy to take the printed photo out and move it around if need be. Memo space is also a must.
Does anyone know of anyone selling a vertical slip-in Photo album with memo space? I'd be very grateful for any help. Otherwise I'll have to go with an adhesive book which I would rather not as photos might fall out over the years.
Thanks very much
ive been getting back into journaling and scrapbooking, but im running out stickers. does anyone know where i can buy cheap but cute stickers? preferably a shop i can go to in real life? (im based in cali!!) i dont know why but i have anxiety when it comes to buying stuff online unless i know for sure it’s safe. although i am open to any online apps/websites, i just need conformation that they’re safe or if theres anything i should worry about ><
also speaking of online apps… is shein a good place to buy stickers from? or anything that isnt clothes, im aware that theres a risk of lead in clothings but im more interested in buying stickers, keychains, pens, pins, etc so is there any risk from doing so?
i usually buy stickers from daiso, miniso, and amazon
Help! I'm brand new to scrapbooking and chose a scrapbook that has self-adhesive paper (with a clear plastic film to protect your photos and what not). I thought this would be great but now I'm kind of worried because I'm not sure that it's as easy as just piecing things onto paper. I want to make it look good and nice because it's a gift for my boyfriend but I don't know exactly how to personalize this type of scrapbook, does anyone have tips? Like for example how to write on the paper? Maybe I just write on strips of construction paper or white paper and then paste that into the book?
Am I the only one struggling with sorting through all the photos I take?
I wanna make a scrapbook of my mom’s recent trip to give her, but photo organization makes me procrastinate lol. I have over 18,000 on my phone!
I joined “the photo declutter community” Facebook group, so that giving me some hope
Any else procrastinating on their scrapbooks because of that too?!
I'm new to scrapbooking and only have a small amount of scrapbooking supplies. I plan on getting more stuff later on. Just wanted to show my first page. Maybe get some pointers?
probably my favorite to date!
I'm starting to make the gifts I want to give for both holidays, especially to my fiance.
I was looking through my Shutterfly digital albums yesterday and I saw the album for our first trip and first sleepover together: Harrisburg! Although I made a Valentine's Day 2023 snap, I decided that I want to make a handmade scrapbook of this trip for David.
I remember cooking lamb, and we couldn't get the gas oven lit. I had to cook it stove top, but the air bnb didn't have a meat thermometer, so I had to cut it to check. They also didn't have a lot of silverware, so David had to eat his lamb with a spoon. We laughed so hard, but it was a filling meal before the heavy metal show. I can't wait to write about this.
This autumn will be busy. Between engagement party, making gifts and our civil wedding in October 2025. I also have to call the Rabbi for my conversion classes.
I am 100% a beginner but trying to become better
I just recently started scrapbooking and does anyone know some easy fixes for when you feel like there's just a bit too much space in an awkwardly shaped place? like I want to add another photo but then it would be too crowded and I judt have no clue what to do
Hello! I am brand new to scrapbooking, never attempted before, but I really want to do this for my boyfriend and I's first anniversary.... The only thing is I'm 26 and he's 30... Is that a childish thing to do? Out of curiosity are you all around my age or early 20s mostly? I just don't want to seem super silly if other people ask what I did for our anniversary
Hello all! (apologies in advance for the long post)
I’ve been collecting magazine clippings/mementos for years and I’m finally about to embark on creating some scrap books (or possibly memory boxes).
Here’s what I’m hoping for advice on:
How do you all suggest sorting your clippings? size, color, category? I have magazine clippings from all realms of pop culture, paper scraps for backgrounds, actual scrap book paper backgrounds. (ideally i’d like to find a way to sort by color but is that really the best way to start without getting overwhelmed?)
What do you all use to store your clippings? folders, filing drawers, clip boards? I’ve seen people simply place them in sandwich bags with labels but no context as to how they’re stored to make it easy to sort through.
I’m very interested in dipping my toes into multi media scrap booking- can anyone recommend any channels on the socials for beginners?
Thanks in advance!
I was inspired by my old grunge tumblr theme- and I saw someone here make a “sad” spread. So here’s my spread for the song “crooked” by G Dragon. Also, if you have a spread for a song I would love to see yours.
Hi everyone! I just found this subreddit through some research I was doing and I was hoping to get some ideas. My mom’s birthday is soon and I have been compiling notes from friends and family (most were emailed to me, but I have a dozen or so handwritten notes). I have also been collecting pictures from throughout her life. I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to incorporate the typed and handwritten notes (plus pictures) into a scrapbook. My friends suggested different fonts for different people but other than that I am unsure. Just looking for general ideas to get some inspiration!
