Does anyone remember the name of the Vietnamese Buddhist temple on the hill in San Jose near Berryessa? I think it was under construction during the pandemic.

I sold my car on Dec 3rd on FB marketplace. I am stupid and didn't realize I needed to also initiative title transfer. I only took a picture of the front of the title and buyers ID. When starting transfer online it asks for photo of back of Title, which I don't have. I am receiving emails about renewing registration which leads me to believe the buyer hasn't transferred title like they said they did. When I go on DMV website, I search by vehicle and it shows up under my last name so I believe the transfer wasn't made. The FB profile is a little naked and the person isn't super responsive. How do I complete the transfer? I'm concerned I don't have enough to give the DMV, and I'll be responsible for a vehicle I no longer have, and don't know where it is. What are my options here?

My father is about to turn 65 (signed up for Medicare). He's still working and makes too much to qualify for SS benefits while drawing a paycheck. I was wondering what types of local discounts/savings he could take advantage of. I'm not talking about tech museum senior discounts but things that every person should take advantage of.

For example, he owns his home so I know in Santa Clara County you can get exempt from some school based parcel taxes (that add to your property tax) when you turn 65. Anything else that's not income based? Once he's retired and on SS I know theres other low income discounts he can qualify for but specifically asking for non income based ones.

The two teams last met in 1996 after facing off 33 times beginning in 1953. Interestingly, the 2031 game at SJSU will be the second time ever in SJ (all others were in Berkeley save for the 1979 match up in Tuscon).

Looking forward to seeing Cal a little closer to home.

I havnt found a gym similar to the private owned ones I would go to that have a lot of machines and powerlifting / bodybuilding equipment . Any recommendations?? Distance isn’t an issue but preferably a gym that is open late

SAN JOSE — Omar Torres, the former city councilman who resigned in disgrace after he was charged with sexually abusing an underage relative in the 1990s, is working toward a plea agreement in the case, according to his attorney.

A plea hearing for Torres on Friday was postponed to Feb. 14, and afterward his attorney Nelson McElmurry said his intention is to reach a negotiated plea with prosecutors and avoid trial.

“We are set to begin negotiations,” McElmurry said. “Omar has demonstrated from the beginning that he wants to take responsibility and bring peace to the lives of those that he has affected. That’s why we’re moving in this direction.”

In a statement, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office said, “We are always open to discussing a reasonable settlement.”

I was the unfortunate victim of Smash and Grab at Mitsuwa Marketplace on Saratoga Ave on 1/30 and they took my small work backpack. It had meds in it, scrub caps (OR nurse), and my lunch. Thankfully I don’t keep valuables in it, but I need my meds. If anyone comes across the back I would gladly give a reward for it. I’m assuming these things get tossed as they are incriminating. Anyway, I need those meds, please keep an eye out.
