I forgot to make timely payment of my SJ water bill. What can I expect to happen as a result of this? Is there any grace period? When and how am I supposed to pay the late fees? Also, will this affect my credit history? Thanks.
Are there any great places left nowadays that have great selections (with some goodish food) on tap but don't charge an arm-and-a-leg for crappy brews?
San Jose has appointed a new independent police watchdog after months of scandal and instability plagued the office responsible for investigating officer malfeasance.
A multimillion-dollar work backlog in San Jose is leaving empty spaces where playground equipment used to be, basketball courts eroded and turf riddled with holes from squirrels and gophers.
I'm a student at SVCTE, I took, animation class, and I was wondering if there's any marketing jobs at Silicon Valley, or just anywhere in the Bay? Thanks
Hey everyone! I am looking to visit my partner in Monterey this summer while she’s attending her school program.
I was thinking of flying into San Jose and staying one night before renting a car to drive down to Monterey. Due to me needing to fly in from the east coast after I get out of work, I’d be catching a pretty late flight, otherwise I’d drive straight to Monterey.
Are there any unique places, near the airport or on the way towards Monterey to stay for a night?
TIA!
I know there’s a student discount, but are there any other discounts that can be applied? Or if anyone wants to donate their unwanted points that would be appreciated. Currently living on a shoestring and I’m trying to see my grandmother since she’s not feeling well.
Edit: traveling to Santa Barbara
Recently got a job offer to work with a federal agency in San Jose for $90k. I’d be moving from North Carolina. I’m a little anxious about money and was wondering if that is enough to live out there? I know it’s not too much out there with the cost of living being so high. My fiancée would be helping with rent and bills, but she’d be going back to school and we haven’t looked into any jobs for her yet.
Bike Tag #137 Circles in the Sky
Bike Tag #136 was on Almaden Ave. just north of Santa Clara St. Proof. Map.
Bike Tag Rules. If you know the location of this new tag, then don't post it until it's solved and a new location is posted. To claim a Bike Tag, you must ride to the mystery location and take a picture of your bicycle to prove you were there, then ride to your new mystery location and take a picture of the same bicycle on the same ride. Post them together before anyone else to set the next tag. The ride between old and new tags may be any combination of bicycling or walking, but not taking the bike in a vehicle.

Looking to see where I can donate plasma, preferably with some kind of compensation (if not that's also fine).
Does anyone near east side know when raging waters is reopening? I heard they will reopen for summer 2024 but their line is busy/disconnected and the official website just has a goodbye message with no other info.
I want to buy season passes if possible, but just knowing when they reopen would be helpful. I don't want to drive all the way over just for info.
my heart aches for it. I sometimes still go back to their FB page
Getting really busy at work and don't have much time to cook. Looking for recommendations for (preferably locally based) ready made meal companies.
I have applied for electrical panel & 100A->200A service upgrade permit, and also a house rewire permit. It looks like the PG&E cannot immediately do the upgrade due to voltage drop and flicker issues.
We have to at least do the rewiring so we can hang new drywalls and move in to the house (a recent purchase). I read a 200A subpanel could be installed to route all wiring to, and then it would still connect to existing 100A panel. And main panel & service upgrade would happen whenever PG&E is ready.
Two questions:
Driving from SJ to LA for the first time! My partner and I plan to make it a fun / scenic trip by staying overnight somewhere along the way. We plan to leave SJ on Saturday and would like to arrive before evening rush hour in LA on Sunday.
How would you plan the trip for the most fun and natural beauty? Where do you think is the best place to stay Saturday night? How many stops is too many?
All ideas are welcome!! Thank you in advance :)
I know BTS is Kpop so not really related but was just curious if anyone had seen any BTS stuff/cosplay/whatever at the event?
Looking for nurseries/places where I can get affordable soil and compost from. I am mostly looking for best prices on bagged soil and compost since shoveling and bagging myself isn't an option (which rules out places like south bay materials, or farms for compost). What are your favorite nurseries and what's their pricing like?
I've recently been interested in making a small terrarium. For my first terrarium, I'm going to be using this as inspiration and I've been doing a lot of research. I'm just not sure where to buy some of this stuff. I was wondering if any of ya'll had recommendations of where to go to get this stuff:
This was a substrate that was recommended by a Youtuber I've been watching. He linked them online but if it's at a store for a better price, maybe I'll pick it up there:
- Charcoal
- Coir
Some other materials I found online that I needed, but again, if it's found at a store for a better price, I'm willing to check it out:
- LECA
- Tools
Maybe some nice hardscape (Going for a forest theme):
- Recommendations on small rocks (I'm thinking slate stone or something)
- Driftwood
- Spider wood (I think I've seen some at PetSmart but not sure if they're real)
This is the stuff I wasn't sure where to find:
- Cushion Moss
- Red Fittonia
- Springtails
If there are other recommendations or something I'm missing, let me know!
I am renting a house since September 2023 and when I signed the lessee the owner did tell me that my neighbor does have a boat on the right side of our driveaway. We do have a big driveway which fits 5 cars and the reason for this was that my neighbor would park his boat on his driveway which is few feet from my front door. So that means every time I open my door that will be the first thing I will see lol.
So I agreed on my neighbor parking his boat on my driveway which does not affect me at all and not any its out of sight. But here is the thing he has been cutting my grass(not a lot of grass) since day 1 and I kind of feel bad. Should I see that as a trade off for him parking his boat on my driveway or should I start cutting my grass lol.
Or let it be and get him a gift?
Live in the Rosegarden in San Jose looking for a great family friendly pool or athletic club for the summer for a preteen and teen. Willing to drive for a great spot. Any recommendations?

So I had twisted my ankle a few months ago and I got a support boot from Carbon Health Urgent Care.
I got a call from the supplier saying I owe money and they sent out a letter? I never got it because my apartment number wasn’t specified and I gave it to them. This week I got the bill from Pacific medical in the mail. I tried paying online but there’s no Patient No. on the letter, so I call today. The lady on the phone said to pay on the phone with here and to give her my credit card info and she could remove the $25 late fee. She also claimed the website is down and that people couldn’t pay their bills online….
The website works fine. I had to make an account to pay, but since I have no patient ID I can’t pay. I tried the account no. On the letter and it says I have no fees.
Is this a scam? I don’t want to pay late fees but I also don’t feel comfortable giving my credit card info to someone over the phone. The company has a bad rep too.
What happened?
A lot of the steaks look massive. We want to try a few things (appetizer, sides) and split a large steak, and maybe have room for desert. Some of them are 30-40oz in size.
Would it be weird to split a steak?
