I know about the Vasona drive-thru lights and Enchant at the soccer park. There's also the downtown Christmas in the Park. Am I missing anything?
I need to get my piano tuned. There's also a few sticky keys that need de-sticky-fying.
I also have a fireplace insert, but there hasn't been a fire built in there in years. I'd like to use it to help heat my house (because FU, PG&E) but no way am I building a fire in there until I have everything thoroughly checked out.
That's it. That's the post. Let 'er rip.
I am looking for a under the table smog 🔥🔥 I have a 2000 Honda prelude and need it smogged by the end of the month. Looking for someone to help me out 🔥🔥💸💸💸💸
Idk usually I get labeled as someone who only cares about themselves and I believe that’s true for most to some extent. Yesterday I was at the burger joint next to my house and a lady said how her and her dog haven’t eaten for 3 days so I bought her some food. I usually tend to steer clear of the homeless but this time I felt like I might as well just help me her out bc what if I get some good karma out of it. In the end, that lady being there was just the universe reminding me that there’s others whose material conditions are way worse than mine so all things I complain about i.e. (loneliness, the lsat, work, school) are meaningless compared to what others have to deal with.
I found a lot of old posts talking about this neighborhood being area. But I walked around there to look at an apartment I was considering (just moved here) and it all seemed fine. Apartments in the area even seemed fancy and new.
Any thoughts? Is this a dangerous area?

My daughter is starting kindergarten next year, and I’m considering two Stratford campuses: Los Gatos and Almaden. The online reviews seem pretty comparable.
Does anyone have experience with either school that they’d be willing to share?
Are there any alternative style shops similar to Silver Sprocket in SF? Or cafes? Or stores? A third space to meet similar people?
There's a certain vibe that I'm looking for that's very LGBT+ friendly and gives off a slightly underground vibe similar to that of Oakland/SF.
Not like Marvel/DC comics but a space for more indie and local artists.
I am looking for a company that specializes in appliance deep cleaning. I have an oven/stove top that I am looking to get professionally cleaned and repaired. Does anyone know of a company that does that- I am NOT looking for a regular cleaning home cleaning service
Hello, where can I find wide fresh pho noodles like this?
I’ll be in SJ for an event at night. Before that, a few of us want to watch the conference championship games on Saturday at a cool sports bar or venue.
Any recommendations?! Thank you in advance!
EDIT: It’s in downtown SJ. But we would commute if there’s one worth checking out!
Hey guys, so I have moved to San Jose for a bit over a year from other country. Been adapting so far but also due to I work a lot, by the time I have some free time, I would really rather to just chill and watch a movie or some low key activities. This actually made me not able to really have some good connections with people.
Anybody who is down to just grab a beer once in a while or watch some movies or even just existing in silence enjoying each other’s company
Any suggestions about shops which can make small gift boxes containing sweets/snacks for Christmas? Preferably local businesses. Maybe under $20-30 per box
Looking for Liminal/Dreamcore type Spaces for fun & photography, such as nature, stores, parks, and indoor playgrounds. Ill already be checking out the biggest chuck e cheese (its in San Jose)- but do you guys have more suggestions? Im not from San Jose- but will be visiting for the week of mid December!
In town for a month visiting family and need to do my PT underwater. I’m got eczema that is reactive to regular chlorine pools. Can anyone point me toward a gym? Thanks so much!
I'm just starting down the divorce path and looking for a studio/1 be and holy crap... Scams a plenty to be sure.
Craigslist doesn't seem like there's anything genuine there. Just wondering what others suggest for finding a small place.
I recently have picked up volleyball and have been playing a lot of open gym in college but will be coming home for break and wanted to keep it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I used to go to Punch King in downtown, but they recently moved to Santa Clara and let go of all of my favorite instructors (and the new location they're in is so drab you get depressed just walking in) so I'm in desperate need of a new gym that has a good chill vibe like Punch king used to.
All I technically need is access to an open gym, but offering boxing/kickboxing and/or having a smaller more close knit vibe would be icing on the cake. I'm also fine with higher prices too.
I'm like, this | | close to just signing up for planet fitness T_T
edit: forgot to mention, the closer to DTSJ the better
Looking for crispy outside and chewy inside. My friend made mochi waffles the other week and now I’m craving them!
Hey everyone!
I’m dating a girl from San Jose, and I’d love your help coming up with some fun date ideas!
I’m from the Netherlands, and this will be my first time in San Jose, so I don’t know much about the city yet.
We’re both 22, and I’ll be visiting from December 14th to January 12th. She’s already planned some fun activities for the weekends, but during the week, she works until around 4-5 PM. That leaves the evenings open for me to plan something special!
Do you have any recommendations for fun or unique things we could do together in the evenings?
Thanks in advance for your ideas!
Does anyone know of any pick up soccer games that go on around here? Doesn’t matter what part of SJ, I’d even be willing to go to Santa Clara as well. If there’s a Facebook group I need to join or something else then let me know about that too. I used to be part of a group that hosted pick up games but they stopped doing it about 6 years ago now. If anyone knows of any but you don’t want to share it to the entire subreddit to see then please feel free to DM me. I’m getting a little bored going out to a field all by myself and shooting around lol and I’m not exactly looking for a Sunday league with a bunch of fees and weekly requirements. Just looking to kick a ball around with some people for fun. Thanks!
Feel free to list as many as you want! I’m just curious where everyone’s favorite food spots is, no price range. It could be Morton’s the steakhouse, fogo de chao, or it could be the taco truck that parks outside of pick n pull (which actually does make some bomb tacos). Just curious though what everyone’s favorite places to eat around here are! Thanks!
Born and raised. Its not perfect but its my home. Wouldn't have it any other way =)
Curious and little concerned ! Today on foothill expressway , this guy ended up merging without watching for traffic and almost crashed into me , I honked , he realized and accelerated ahead ! In the next signal , he ended up jumping out of the car and was asking for a fight ! What do you usually do ? Walk away or report ? Just curious !
I do have a photos of him out as he went back to his car when I locked my doors and the signal turned green !
Mom is active (walks, hikes, light weights) but with a recent fall she has been in PT and doesn't hike as much and she's getting more frail and depressed.
I am looking for a personal trainer that has a small, approachable studio or does private at-home sessions for basic functional strength and mobility work. Ideally this person has the experience to understand where she (and potentially my dad) are at in their physical abilities and also their lives--they are both mentally sharp and formerly very active so it's hard for them to be less able as they get into their 70s.
Would love any recommendations.
I'm planning to walk in a different neighborhood each night this month to look at Christmas lights. Any suggestions on where to go, aside from Willow Glen? (If you haven't been, check out the area around Glacier Drive).
Title pretty much says it all. Id prefer places in walking distance from Pioneer High School, but just about anywhere works.
Im going to be going to san jose in december and im having trouble finding nightclubs that play 80s, Synth, Goth, Industrial other than The Ritz. Im not from san jose, so maybe you guys can help point me to other options? The Closer to san jose the better.
I was outside tonight and noticed what smells like burning plastic and tires. Definitely not wood fires. I served in Afghanistan and they would burn tires and other toxic plastic trash to stay warm. It smelled just like tonight. Am I crazy, or do we have toxic plastic/tire fires burning in the camps now?
I would be happy to get together and pitch in for wood for folks to burn, but I know that’s not a long term or safe solution.
