Where do I have to go to catch fish that I can actually eat? A lot of catch & release here because I guess the fish is unsafe to eat, from what I hear. Where is the closest place I can catch & cook?
Thanks!
Hello !
I am going to be in town this weekend for the earthquake game.
I wanted to ask some recommendations from locals
Late night tacos and sports bar to watch the fights.
Any suggestions are welcome. Please and thank you !
Basically what the title says. May the 4th is only a day away. Are there any events planned to celebrate star wars in San Jose?
I hear so many Cops flying by 101 south side SJ. There is also 2 choppers out??
How is this area in Fruitdale near Rose Glen. Is it safe? Looking to buy house in this area.
I am a woman with very specific needs.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. 🙏
black women only:
i just want a natural stylist to cut my split ends and maybe give me a maintenance/growth consult. do you have a good place you go to, especially in south san jose?
I'm going to be moving to the US to work out of East Palo Alto. This would be my first time to California in general. I have another friend who is going to be working out of Sunnyvale. Looking at the travel times it seems like we are in for a commute especially if I decide to live closer to Sunnyvale. I was wondering what area I should look into, especially ones that are safer neighbourhoods. The traffic seems really bad through the US-101.
Edit: Our budget is max 2000 per person a month, but we aren't picky in terms of the aesthetics of the place.
We are open to driving and, city life isn't a real concern for us.
Are there any Chinese restaurants in/near SJ that have funeral catering packages? My cousin who lives in SF area got one for a funeral she planned so I'm wondering there are any in SJ too.
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a recent experience with Alto Pharmacy that's left us pretty disappointed and ultimately led us to switch back to Costco for our prescriptions.
For context, Alto had been our go-to for medication deliveries due to their reliability and convenience. However, they recently switched their delivery driver network to a third-party service, and the transition has been anything but smooth.
The main issue we've encountered is the language barrier. The new delivery drivers seem to have a strong preference for communicating in Spanish. While this is absolutely fine, it becomes a problem when there is no option for English communication. The last time we were expecting a delivery, my husband ended up completely stranded. He tried to contact the driver, who didn't pick up the phone and insisted on text communications exclusively in Spanish. We had to resort to using Google Translate for the entire conversation, which was frustrating and far from ideal.
We reached out to Alto to express our concerns, hoping for a solution. To our surprise, it seems even the pharmacists at Alto are struggling to communicate with the new drivers. They informed us that this is a trial run, but from our perspective, it’s significantly degraded the quality of their service. They also mentioned that there’s nothing they can do to improve the situation at the moment.
The whole reason we used Alto was to avoid the hassle of going to a physical pharmacy. Unfortunately, the recent changes have defeated the purpose of their service. We've decided to switch all our prescriptions back to Costco, where we haven't had these issues.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems with Alto lately? Would love to hear your thoughts or if you have any recommendations for other reliable delivery services.
Thanks for letting me vent. Looking forward to hearing from the community.
Anywhere doing drink deals this weekend ?
Looking for a swimming pool in the SJ area that doesn’t break the bank.
Friend got hired and we have some questions, anyone here who works for them? Thanks!
I was walking in the old neighborhood and saw 10+ cop cars and 3 community officer cars/trucks with 20+ cops talking in a circle outside the hotel. The lights on the cars were flashing, what gives?
BTW sad to notice Hannah sold her café and the CVS is boarded up.
If you own a home, that's great!!! You don't own the sidewalk or the street where you park both your cars or even the entire family, and the 3rd "weekend" car(im talking to every home owner on the street). They use it as guest parking for their friends and think that it's rightfully their spot.
Now, for us poor people who have apartments without guest parking, we're shit out of luck and have to make our guests walk blocks to visit.
If you are that home owner, go choke on a phat 1
Anybody know why? No
Does anyone know any cheap beauty supply stores in sj?
Title says all, lol! Lmk if you would be interested :) Would be cheaper with a full group of 6.
I’m all for supporting small business and I understand inflation is a thing but some of these prices are straight up goofy. I see more people bringing their lunch from home everyday vs making the trek to spend $20+ on a lunch
Hi all, looking for recommendations for Mother's Day events happening around the South/East Bay & Peninsula and good restaurants for the holiday. I am in San Jose and my mom is in Mountain View, and I'd like to take her somewhere nice or do something fun. Let me know if you are aware of any special Mother's Day goings-ons or have had a good experience at a local restaurant for Mother's Day (doesn't have to be brunch specifically.) Thank you!
I want to buy two small red ear turtles. how much does it cost? And where can I find the cheapest one? I have seen a lot of them around the bay, can I just catch them from the wild myself? Thanks in advance!
Whose got the best rates for gated garages? Not talking about the public city of SJ ones since too many breaks happen there. Is there any place that is cheaper than $75/month?
