Here is my ideal concept for my fan made technogames series
There will be 64 Super Heavyweights on wheels and or catepillar tracks and they'll go head to head in these challenges
Round 1: Obstacle Course
Round 2: Soccer
Round 3: Speedway
Round 4: Tug Of War
Round 5: Sumo
there will also be a few walker robots and minibots for other metre races dancing robots as well as swimming robots hopefully and vigorously
and due to today's technology there will also be a drone flying contest where the drone that flies the fastest and/or highest wins
Hello All,
I have recently re-discovered my love for Robot Wars.
Watched some old episodes on Youtube, and that made me want to play the old games.
I managed to get Arenas of Destruction working on a PS2 emulator on my Android phone.
However, I have had no luck in getting Extreme Destruction to work even when trying a Virtual Machine running Windows XP (SP3)
I have scoured the internet for files both original and cracked, tried loading each new attempt in a variety of compatibility modes with varied (but no real) success. The closet I can get to the game loading is the Intro sequence and Intro video playing, before the game freezes with no more action until I force close it using Task manager.
Alternatively, following the file install instructions (largely the same as any cracked game, replacing the original game file with the cracked version) This will instantly force crash the game when trying to load it.
PC is running on Windows 11, though I have the same issues on the Win XP Virtual Machine.
Has anybody managed to get these ancient games working on any newer machines of the past few years? Any further links or forums any could link me to about this would be appreciated.
So, I'm gonna come right out and say it, I've got 0 experience in the field, the closest I've come to anything like electrical engineering is either wiring in an electric oven, fixing a tumble dryer or swapping out parts on my PC (plus some very light hobbyist soldering experience). But rewatching old robot wars episodes, watching YouTube tutorials on how the parts all work together and creating rough designs has gotten my brain fired up to start building.
Thing is, where should I even start? I'm looking at antweight as it seems to be an inexpensive starting point and theres events relatively nearby, but where should I start in terms of bot building? Start with wedge pushers? Basic flippers? Just go all out and build a beater? Or should I go and experiment with a more basic project before I start?

A while back, I posted free instructions of Mecha Tentomushi, specifically the Battlebots Season 1.0/Robot Wars Series 3 version, on my page at Rebrickable.com. I was recently informed of an error on my instructions, and upon updating it, I realized how amateurish my old instructions were and decided to completely redo them from scratch! Here's the link for anyone interested, or hadn't known I made this replica in the first place. They're still free for download!
https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-186354/TommyProductionsInc/tentoumushi-battlebots-season-1-robot-wars-series-3/#details
(Despite being known as a Battlebots competitor, I posted Tentomushi on here because she briefly appeared in Series 3 of Robot Wars in the middleweight. Despite being half the weight of her opponents, she took victory and even disabled Shunt XD)
Which is the most controversial finale to a series of Robot Wars. In case you need reminding here are the salient points of the 3 choices.
Series 6: Razor v Tornado. Tornado fitted a large (and later banned) anti-crusher framework that prevented Razor getting at the body of the robot and which also rendered Tornado too large to be pitted
Series 7: Storm 2 v Typhoon 2. Despite dominating the majority of the fight, Storm 2 lost the championship due to a judges decision in which Typhoon was declared the winner due to a panel falling off Storm and damage being the highest rated part of the decision scoring. Storm also allege that the producers were against them from the beginning and so influenced the decision.
Series 10: Carbide v Eruption. Despite being in control for the majority of the fight, Eruption won a unanimous judges decision due to Carbide's weapon stopping a few times despite Eruption having sustained more damage.
Rise of the Robots continue their coverage of Series 2 of Robot Wars Extreme as we are half way through the New Blood Championship.

Hey all, just a quick question. I always noticed as a kid that some robots (Panic Attack and Bigger Brother of the top of my head) had a Firestorm sticker stuck to them? I was wondering if anyone knew the reason behind this? Thanks
