Respect Threads provide a comprehensive and sourced overview of a character's combat abilities to better inform battleboarding discussions

A Respect Thread is an educational resource meant to provide usable information on a character's capabilities for the purpose of "Who would win in a fight?"-style debate. Respect Threads should be clear, concise, and accurately portray the character in question.

R

Read the full version of our rules in the wiki!

  1. Respect Threads must contain 5 or more combat-related feats. Respect Threads must contain at least 5 combat-related pictures, scans, screenshots, clips, or other relevant media sources along with information explaining the feat. Feats must be combat-applicable and impressive by human standards in order to qualify.

  2. Respect Threads must cover the majority of a character's primary canon. Respect Threads should cover most if not all of a character's canon before being posted, and contain as many relevant feats as possible. A character's "Primary" Canon is largely subjective, but is best explained as the most important part to cover. Tie-ins, spin-offs, and sequels are preferred but not necessarily required. This will be judged on a case by case basis.

  3. Respect Threads must be properly formatted. Respect Threads must adhere to basic formatting guidelines. Properly hiding your links and using bullet points or equivalent is mandatory.

  4. Scans must be of good quality and easy to interpret.

  5. Do not cite wikis or sources from YouTube. These sites are historically unreliable for hosting sources. Do not use them.

  6. Literature feats need to be properly cited with series or chapter numbers.

  7. Titles should convey who the character is. State which version of the character and what series they are from in your title.

  8. Mod permission is required for composites, IRL figures, and comment extensions. These are all areas where RTs easily get out of hand, so please reach out through modmail for permission before compositing separate canons, basing a thread on a real-life figure, or extending your RT into the comments.

  9. One Repost per day. You may repost 1 respect thread per day (7 per week). Characters in ongoing series should be reposted as necessary.

  10. NSFW is allowed, but must be tagged. Nudity / Sex needs tagged, gore and risque elements may be tagged at the user's discretion, and do not link anything that sexualizes minors.

  11. Respect Threads need permission to be updated. You must obtain permission to update old Respect Threads and you must message the moderators when you have obtained permission to update a Respect Thread.

  12. Be polite and don't downvote. Don't be a dick. This includes not asking for/demanding respect threads in the comments of other respect threads.

  13. We don't want characters who solely exist because you made one and posted it here. At least make a story and publish that somewhere else first.

Respect the Zergling! (Starcraft)

Zerglings are the Swarm's hounds of war, they may look small, but these little monsters can tear a marine apart faster than he can empty his gauss rifle.

-Zerg Overview

The Zergling

Bio

Based on the genetic material of the Zz'gashi dune runner, the zergling strain serves as the frontline warriors of the Swarm, mutated with adrenal glands that induce them into a battle frenzy, boosting their reflexes and rate of movement. These adrenal glands have been observed to be unusually large for a creature of the zergling's size.

They are designed to be fast, deadly and annoyingly hard to kill, especially in the massive hordes they are usually deployed as. Though they are still effective in lesser numbers, and are sometimes sent in pairs as scouts.

Sources:

  • SC:R = StarCraft: Remastered
  • SC:BW = StarCraft: Remastered Brood War
  • WoL = StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty
  • HotS = StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
  • LoV = StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void
  • SFM = StarCraft Field Manual

Official comics and websites:

  • C:F = StarCraft:Frontline
  • C:SW = Shadow Wars
  • WS = Official Blizzard website, they are all linked, however since the original SC:2 website got updated a few years ago I had to use the wayback machine for those links.

Upgrades

Zerglings have a very simple genetic code, which makes them very easy to replicate by the Swarm^(SFM), thus adding unnecessary mutations is detrimental^(HotS), sometimes however, this mutations are considered worth it, in the Heart of the Swarm campaign for example, you can pick one out three mutations to upgrade your zerglings (which you can change outside of missions), and later you unlock two mutually exclusive strains with which you can further upgrade your zerglings. None of these things increase the time it takes you to spawn zerglings, but either way I'll tag these mutations beyond the "baseline" zergling with (Upgrade).

Claws/Teeth

vs Marines (there's a lot of these)

Durability/Endurance

For reference C-14 projectiles are described as hypersonic^(SFM) , and are capable of piercing metal^(C:SW), CMC armor is capable of throwing large metal objects and bending metal doors^(WoL)

vs Heat

Firebat's flamethrowers spew "combusto-plasma"^(WoL)

vs Cold

vs Poison

Speed

For reference, hellions are comparable in speed to the vulture hoverbike^(SFM) , and vultures have a top speed of 230mph^(WS)

This zealot has been wounded, but he is an accomplished veteran and he claims "Another blessing: his legs were unhurt." and "But my hearts no longer hurt. And these shadows mean that the dawn has not yet come." So interpret the feat as you wish.

  • Pounces on a zealot before they can react^(LotV) (This one looks different because it's from another protoss faction called the Nerazim, but they are just as well trained) (Zealots usually kill zerglings on a 1 on 1, but it's certainly possible for a zergling to kill them)

For reference, Zealots are trained for decades^(SFM), and possess a limited form of precognition^(C:F)

Agility

Regeneration

Intelligence

The zerg are a hive mind, with their leader (The Overmind/Kerrigan) controlling commanders (cerebrates/broodmothers) who lead their own broods, this control is done through the psionic abilities of their leaders, and when a single leader needs to control particularly large armies they employ Overlords, a flying zerg specimen which helps broadcast psychic energy. If a lesser zerg finds itself isolated from their leaders they'll turn feral, acting like an animal and even attacking other zerg.

Respect Xykon (Order of the Stick)

##"I used to think that spells equaled power, too, back when I was alive. I've learned a lot since then. You know what does equal power? Power. Power equals power. Crazy, right?"

#Xykon

Xykon is an extremely powerful lich sorcerer, and is the main antagonist of the webcomic Order of the Stick, a world that operates under the rules of Dungeons and Dragons 3.5th Edition.^124 As a young boy he realized he had been born with magic powers such as raising the dead and shooting lightning, and soon decided to use these powers to take whatever he wanted and kill whoever got in his way. In his old age when between schemes he was approached by the goblins Redcloak and Right Eye, who wanted his help gaining access to extradimensional gates that the absurdly powerful monster known as The Snarl contained within. Assuming that he could control this monster and conquer the world, Xykon quickly agree. However their first attempt at attacking these gates saw him imprisoned and without his magic, forcing Redcloak to turn him into an undead lich.^SD With this newfound power Xykon quickly proved to be a much greater than he ever had been alive, and together with Redcloak (Right Eye having been killed) and an army of expendable minions, they sought out the other gates in the hopes of furthering their plans (while not-so-secretly not trusting each other in the slightest). They would also repeatedly find themselves in conflict with the adventuring party known as the Order of the Stick, all for the silly reason of avenging a murder and trying to save the world.

Respect Edward Boyce (Overlord)

"Three months ago, I was cutting grass on my front yard. The mailman shows up with a letter from the army. Now I'm here, and no idea where I'm going to end up."

Edward Boyce was is a former black paratrooper who was in a all black paratrooper called the 555th also known as the Triple Nickels. But his life changed forever on March, 1944 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave the order to desegregate the entire US Armed Forces during the unit he was assigned to was given an assignment to embark on a mission to destroy a Nazi jamming tower at on the early mornings of June 6, 1944 only to find a series of terrifying Nazi experiments.

"I didn't get the timer set at the tower. You got to go take it down...I was never getting back. And this shit, our side shouldn't have it either. It'll have to stay buried down here with me. You got to finish the job, Boyce, and blow this whole fucking place up. Go!"

Lewis Ford was an army explosive expert who previously served with the 82nd Airborne Division in Baker company in taking parts of the invasion of Italy before he and most of his squad was ambushed and captured by the SS paranormal Division and experimented by General Wilhelm Stresse. He managed to escape the Nazis by Allied reinforcements. After Italy, Ford was reassigned to the 101st Airborne Division and deployed with a company of paratroopers to assist with their vital mission to blow up the radio jamming tower in CielBlanc, France. After Sergeant Ben Rensin is killed by the Nazi forces Ford takes over commanding the mission to destroy the tower inside of the CielBlanc church. While in Ciel Blanc he arranged for the capture and torture of Captain Franz Wafner. Ford is not initially on board with destroying the lab because he feels it would lead to the unit's death but it’s eventually convinced that it is a cause worth dying for, later after an encounter with Wafner, he takes the serum to even the odds before sacrificing himself to complete the mission.

Respect Casey Shield (Pokemon Adventures)

A loud and energetic girl all her life, Casey Shield struggled to find friends for just that reason, instead finding a family in her five Pokemon and the Professor she would assist in her research on dynamaxing. As she chased down a Wishing Star, an item which makes dynamaxing possible, she came across Henry Sword before the two ventured into an off-limits forest. There, not only did they find two Wishing Stars, but also a rusted sword and shield used a millennia ago, as well as the illusions of the Pokemon that wielded them. However, immediately after they were knocked unconscious, with Casey waking to find all of her Pokemon had been taken. A year later, she entered Galar's Gym Challenge, hoping to use the fame gained in competing to find her old Pokemon once more.

Respect Henry Sword (Pokemon Adventures)

Raised in a family specializing in Pokemon gear, the equipment naturally used by Pokemon, Henry Sword was raised to have an exceptional understanding of such items and how to repair them. Of all these items, though, two in particular caught his attention: The legendary rusted sword and shield, meant to be held within a quiet, off-limits forest in Galar. While he did come across both them and the illusions of the Pokemon who wield them, he was knocked unconscious, and upon waking found the artefacts had been taken. A year later, he joined Galar's Gym Challenge, both in order to help his friend find her lost Pokemon and in hopes to find the rusted sword and shield once more so that he may repair them to their former glory.

Respect Iron Man Model 51: Model Prime (Marvel, 616)

I'm supposed to be so far ahead of the curve no one else can even see the curve. But it's my fault. I promised myself I would spend some shop time every week. I promised. First of all, I'm a better person to be around when I spend a little time in my church. This is my meditation. This alone time with my favorite person. Me. (If only that were true.) But I need this time for me and I need it for him. My armor needs to grow and evolve. It needs to surprise everyone and at the same time be that thing everyone can count on. It's all my metaphors.

After designs for his suits were leaked on the Internet and a 15-year-old named Riri Williams built her own suit of armor, Tony Stark realized he needed to put his nose to the grindstone and build a state-of-the-art multipurpose suit to blow away the competition. Using designs that incorporated millions of individual scales, Tony created the Model Prime armor to act as a kind of Swiss army knife. The scales could move around on the surface of the armor to change shapes, fulfilling any kind of specialized function that Iron Man could need in an extremely lightweight, collapsible package.

Tony would wear this armor during the formation of an All New, All Different roster of the Avengers and during his conflict with Captain Marvel in the second superhuman Civil War. After waking up from his coma following a fight with Captain Marvel at the Capitol building, he'd move onto an updated version of his old Extremis armor.

Notes

During Infamous Iron Man, Victor von Doom stole the technology from the Model 51 and heavily modified it in order to become a better superhero than Tony Stark. Feats from this version of the suit can be found here.

Respect Guybrush Threepwood (Monkey Island)

"'Wanted: Guybrush Threepwood'...hey! That's me! 'For the murder of G.P. LeChuck, also for the use of witchcraft on the person of Largo LaGrande, the thievery of clothing and medically prescribed hair supplements for such witchcraft, graverobbing, trespassing, larceny without a permit, exceeding allowable FDA limit for rodent parts in vichyssoise, unauthorized exiting from a penal institution, and releasing a dangerous reptile in a populated area. Also wanted for questioning regarding the disappearance of prescription eyewear. Reward offered for information leading to the suspect's apprehension. Threepwood is to be considered armed and dangerous.' Armed and dangerous? Right on!"

When he washed ashore Mêlée Island in the Tri-Island Area, Guybrush Threepwood only had one goal in mind: To become a Mighty Pirate^^TM . Seeking out the three Pirate Lords on the island, he set about proving his skills in swordplay, thievery, and treasure huntery, but this proved to only be the first in a long series of trials for the hapless pirate. He would find himself needing to unravel voodoo curses, dispel evil spirits, save people (after being strong armed into it by his governor-turned-pirate wife), learn multiple forms of insult-based combat, fend off the evil undead pirate LeChuck at least six times over, solve all manner of strange puzzles found only in a series of point-and-click adventure games, and eventually discover The Secret of Monkey Island^^TM . While he may have a exaggerated sense of his own achievements that don't line up with anyone else's perception of him, that doesn't matter too much, as in his mind he will always be Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate^^TM .

Respect Entity 94, "The Tour Guide" (The Backrooms, Fandom)

For all my life, I've told myself: I'll get through it. I'll get through it. It was only until time flew by did I realize how idiotic such a mindset was. Because in truth, unless you do something yourself, nothing will ever happen.

A chef, hunter, survivalist, and Backrooms expert, the Tour Guide is an erratic, sentient, hypocritical Entity in the Backrooms Fandom. Its purpose is to "catch" Wanderers and help them explore the Backrooms by charging them several payments at the end of each "course."

While taking the body of a 14-year-old boy named Rowan Lambert, the Tour Guide is shown to know much more than he lets on to, implying his experience within the Backrooms may begin during Benjamin Wilson's rule during his time as the First.

This guy has the most disturbing tales on the site, which is surprising since he comes from the Fandom wiki of all places, so viewer discretion is advised. I will also be using some of the Joke tales since the Backrooms doesn't have much canon continuity. However, this doesn't affect the Tour Guide's arsenal that much. All of his feats coming from the joke pages will be listed at the very bottom.

Respect Featherine Augustus Aurora, the Witch of Theater! (Umineko: When They Cry [Manga])

In the human world, Tohya Hachijou is an extremely skilled author in the mystery genre. Her renown for crafting whodunits is almost without peer, harking back to Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle. But in the witching world, she goes by another name. Featherine is a mysterious woman, flitting between awake and asleep, who craves fresh experiences to tickle her thousand-year old fancy. Her immense power is only inhibited by her desire to follow narratives and cherish their experiences. You probably know her from crappy powerscaling tiktok edits that place her above everyone.

It should go without saying, but obviously there will be massive Umineko spoilers in this

#Key

Scaling

  • Battler Ushiromiya
  • Bernkastel
  • Lambdadelta

Setting

The Umineko setting, as you may have guessed, is quite complex. It enjoys teasing meta-narratives and metaphors. I will provide some supplemental information about Rokkenjima and the worlds of witches below. Though these don't really apply to Featherine, a higher being as she is.

"Fragments" are dimensions, parallel universes. Think of them like branching timelines. In one fragment, Battler could be the killer; in another, everyone tried to kill each other. Fragment is just the term for one path that the mystery could take. You can read that metaphorically, or literally, as I imagine most here are wont to do.

A "Game Master" is the one who sets up the mystery telling. They plan out the fragment's game board and choose which characters are the killer(s) in order for the player opposing the GM to have a mystery to solve.

Notes

Hover over a link to see the chapter of occurrence. Due to the way the Umineko manga is structured, I have input the chapters of occurrence with the episode number at the beginning of the source. For example, "208" is "Episode 2, Chapter 8."

She might have a connection to a character in Higurashi, but that's not explicit and the anime is a bit wishy-washy, so I didn't put those feats in here. Maybe later if I go through Higurashi.

Respect Erlang Shen (Chinese Mythology)

I got reminded that I was looking to do this due to Black Myth Wukong, though I don’t care to do anything on wukong though, the journey to the west research website has already done a very fine job of that.

While he is best known for being the Monkey King’s Rival in Journey to the West, Erlang Shen has had many other traditions outside the Monkey King, to the point that he has Song Dynasty, Yuan Dynasty and even Tang Dynasty literary traditions written about him, so he in this sense he technically might be more well documented than wukong. As being one of the most famous demigods (and one of the only demigods) in Chinese Mythology, he would be the Chinese equivalent to Heracles in that sense due to his popularity.

Often regarded as a powerful but somewhat lawful and stuck-up individual, Erlang/Yang Jian in terms of his most fleshed out personality (in fengshen yanyi) is in actuality an utter troll, constantly giving enemies deadly food poisonings, purposely losing to enemies to lethally prank them, catfishing enemies, and allowing himself to be dumped with excrement for an elaborate and morbid your mom joke. While in terms of his dialogue he seems to be content to hide it, his actions speak to his true nature far more.

This will include basically every incarnation of Erlang but with the most focus on Yang Jian as he has overall the most relevance. Side note, some Chinese names will be edited from their weird translations to their pinyin for better clarity; in one of the abridged translations I’ve used, the text keeps on calling him “Yang Bliss” and it just sounds weird. “Fenghuangs” will be used as the translation for anything that’s specifically referring to it to differentiate them from “Luanniao,” because those tend to get construed with phoenixes when they’re two different divine birds. Same goes for Qilins instead of them often getting referred to as unicorns. If I’m talking about a unicorn, it’s an actual unicorn. As for Gu Zhizhong’s translation of Investiture of the Gods that I’ll be using (which is the only full unabridged english translation I can find), a few passages will also be directly translated from me due to simply not being available in English (which is prominent for most of the poems), or being outright inaccurate from what the Chinese text states.

This RT also aims to help any creators who want to make anything based on Erlang, to get a better feel of his capabilities (and give him something that’s beyond wukong clone with a third eye).

I have not actually played or watched through Black Myth Wukong’s Erlang. Other than a few cutscenes I have no idea what he does, thus his portrayal there will not be relevant to anything I’m talking about here.

Note: Anything that is not from Investiture of the Gods, Journey to the West, origin of chinese deities, or Stories to Awaken the World, is just directly translated from Chinese to English by me (mostly by hand, though some of them partially utilize machine/AI translations for efficiency’s sake, always after me checking and trimming their translation quality as well). Strength

Durability/Endurance

With Jiuzhuanxuangong/Bajiuxuangong (so pretty much all his endurance feats from Fengshen will be here)

Speed

Skill

Magic

While he usually gets a similar build as Wukong’s own magic kit (with things like at least weapon duplication and weapon telekinesis) in popular culture since he went against Wukong for 300 rounds (so not without good reason), this primarily covers the explicit instances of things that are either explicitly magic spells and the like or most likely magic spells.

72 Transformations. This primarily covers instances where he utilizes his transformation abilities on himself and occasionally inanimate objects. Will not count instances where he employs the help of others in performing the spells.

Equipment:

Sanjian Liangren Dao

His most consistent weapon, though probably the most boring one. There’s genuinely not that much to write home about it other than being presumably durable (pretty much always implied).

Flying Tiger Shoes

A fairly common motif in his sun chasing stories.

Xiaotian Quan

One of his most consistent companions, Yang Jian essentially has a super doggo. In Fengshen Yanyi as the utilization of his dog shares the same action character with how magical weapons are often used, it’s implied that his dog is also classified as a magical weapon as well.

Shanhe Sheji Tu

Other

Those are just feats that aren’t explicitly called out as magic or don’t fall in line with his magic abilities and just…happen. Because they just do. Yeah. This primarily covers his eye based abilities but also covers a few other things. While Chinese media does enjoy giving him eye lasers (and I do like said eye lasers) I haven’t been able to find instances of him actually firing eye lasers.

Notes: While there are sources that I went into that listed various other weapons of his with him mentioning them, many of them do NOT have any actual feats despite having names that usually have indication of what their function is. While they would certainly be useful in something like Fate, simply having something like “demon slaying saber” or “demon binding chain” or “fenghuang arrows” or his kunwu blade which ‘shines like frost,’ without any real feats they don’t actually hold that much water. The closest I get to those instances is him showing that he’s clearly tamed some special animals for him to ride like the dragon and unicorn. While I would LOVE to see them in adaptations that have special powers derived from their names and whatnot, for the purposes of this RT they’re not included.

For anyone who’s thinking about “what about Erlang’s lifting 66 mountains feat,” uh, that is most likely misinformation.

As far as I’ve researched, I seriously doubt that’s a thing. Wikipedia cites it as “Records of Guansian (no chinese characters btw)” which doesn’t compute anything in terms of Chinese Pinyin or wade giles stuffs. The main thing is “Sian (which doesn’t exist in either pinyin or wade giles),” and then even then the closest thing it might be to it would be 仙, but that would be romanized as Xian or Hsian. In any case throughout what I’ve searched in terms of “Guanxian” it doesn’t really bring up anything. The closest there is, would be 灌县志 as “records of guan county” but as far as Ctext shows there’s simply nothing regarding Erlang shen in there.

Furthermore, while Baidu does mention the above feat, it also cites an image that just doesn’t load. So, yeah.

Additionally, I didn’t really read as much of Erlang Baojuan other than the main deal of Erlang’s mother getting trapped under a mountain by Wukong and Erlang exacting the rescue and vengeance, and a few prayers to Erlang here and there. Erlang Baojuan is remarkably hard to read and unlike my other sources there is no easy access to a digital version or OCRing it (especially not when OCR constantly confuses which chinese words they are due to the occasional squiggle) for searching through it quickly for feats is simply not feasible. It’s like reading handwritten old English, though at least according to what I’ve gone through in Baidu and summaries of the text I doubt I’m missing out that much, and even other peers of mine who speak Chinese (up to including a professor of Chinese) acknowledge that it’s utterly horrible to read, with up to and including literal words that don’t exist (ie, no longer used in modern chinese). So you're completely welcome to inform me of any feats in Erlang Baojuan, just tell me which page or something because that book has become the bane of my existence.

I wasn’t initially planning to include Qing Dynasty sources due to how close they are to modernity, but after realizing that the dog bites Lu Dongbin proverb (fairly culturally common) primarily comes from a Qing Dynasty source, I decided to include some Qing Dynasty stuff, also because they do give him some interesting feats. If there’s any other sources that you think I missed that are relevant do by all means list them below. Translation questions are also welcome, because old chinese is a total bitch to translate (and I am not a big calligraphy guy to begin with, so I’m aware that there might be errors).

!Mayhaps hot take, but yes, I think a properly built Erlang likely defeats Wukong!<

Finally, next on my RT list is most likely going to be Nezha, who's hopefully easier than Erlang. If I wanna go for a quickie I’ll grab King Arthur as a side, he’s much more easier to manage than Nezha.

Respect Link (The Legend of Zelda: Count of the Black Shadows)

"Not now, Link. With the way you are now..."
"Jeez, what are you going on about? I'll have to give it a try to know if I can beat him."

When the human Link was left in the village of hobbits as a baby, he knew little of his heritage. But twelve years later, after the demon king Ganon took over Hyrule and claimed ownership of the Triforce of Power, he was told it was his duty to live up to the legacy of his ancestor and rid the world of the darkness staining it. While initially hesitant, Link soon found himself wholeheartedly filling the role, frequently throwing himself into danger in order to locate the four Triforce pieces hidden across the nation.

Respect Grey (Snowpiercer)

Surrender! Die!

Grey was brought onto the train when he was 4 by his parents, who were killed in first revolution when he was 6. Since then, Gilliam had taken Grey under his wing and Grey became his body guard & a sort of nurse to Gilliam in exchange. Grey had the rare condition of mutism, although it is unclear whether he was born with it or developed it out of trauma. Though he may not look it, Grey is extremely strong and athletic. He used to race Edgar around the tail, and had to tape up most of clothes from tearing them wile climbing up and down the bunks & shelves. As he couldn’t speak, he had the artist tattoo words & phrases all over his body to commune with others. Grey was 21 years old when he was killed by Franco the Elder.

Respect the Skull Merchant (Dead by Daylight)

Daughter of a manga artist in Brazil, Adriana Imai's family financially struggled, but she nevertheless excelled in her education. These talents were also evident outside of the classroom, with her self-taught skills in investment and economics making her a millionare by the age of eighteen. However, she also taught herself other skills she would use later in life as she stalked a classmate who took her place as head of the class when she could no longer afford tuition, learning everything she could about him while imagining all the ways she could ruin his life. While she never did anything in this scenario, the same could not be said for two board members who blocked Adriana from buying out their company, pointing to a history of gutted and abandoned businesses behind her. Discovering their identities, she lured them out to a conference in Switzerland where she slaughtered them, allowing the deal to go through. So continued Adriana's business conquest, fashioning herself after the Skull Merchant from her father's unpublished manuscripts, killing anyone who dared stand up to her. Finally, when she was chasing down witnesses to her kill of a firework company's manager, the world started to shift around her. Trees turned into fog, and she soon found herself in a realm where she could truly test her skills against her prey.

Respect: Ultimate Daredevil (Marvel, 1610)

Respect: Ultimate Daredevil, the Man Without Fear!

I want, before I die, to have done one thing... to bring him to justice. Because that is the only revenge that will mean anything. He doesn't believe in justice or the law. He doesn't believe he can be punished. He believes he is allowed to do what he is doing. And as much as I want to wrap my hands around his throat and watch him die... it won't mean anything. I want him in a court of law... to hear a jury of right-minded people... tell him he's evil and then put him away.

Introduction

Matthew "Matt" Murdock was blinded in his youth but somehow secretly gifted with enhanced non-visual senses, Matt Murdock also lost his father, murdered by Kingpin for refusing to go along with a fixed boxing match. Even with that, though, Matt had his promise to his father - to make something of himself through his education. He enrolled at Columbia Law School, where he met and became enamored with Elektra Natchios. However, a string of violent occurrences at the school would tear them apart.

Thus, after several tensions and problems with Elektra which connected everything to Kingpin, he decided that he would want to overthrow him, which is why he decided to become a hero and, in the future, form a group to take down Wilson Fisk.

Respect the Animals (The Future Is Wild, 2002)

The Future Is Wild is a speculative science fiction 'documentary' series, which peers into three different periods far into the future. There, humanity has been rendered extinct, and new forms of life have evolved to thrive on planet Earth. This thread will look at these speculated animals, separated by their time period and biome.

Feats will be tagged with the episode they appear in. This thread only uses the 2002 mockumentary series, and not any other sources (such as the manga and the 2007 animated series).

Respect Neon Grumer! (Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger)

“Neon!”

  • Height: 194 cm (Giant: 45.1 m)

  • Weight: 266 kg (Giant: 630.9 tons)

  • Created from: A Neon Sign

  • Speed: Surprise Fastest

  • Number: 4153

    • Nighttime Building Street Course
  • TV Asahi Page on Neon Grumer

At a warehouse, Disrace gives Itasha an upgraded Ignition Key that could create more powerful Kurumaju than the previous ones. Itasha then creates Neon Grumer from a neon sign. The Hashiriyans dress up as waiters and open a restaurant in order to lure people into a trap. Inside the restaurant, a couple notices a standing-still Neon Grumer and mistake him for a statue before Itasha seats them down. She then asks all of the customers in the room to look at Neon Grumer, who screams and startles them, causing them to generate Gyasoline. Decotrade and Yarucar are watching from another room and realize that this tactic may be the "Effective Targeting" that Disrace talked about earlier. Unlike previous Kurumaju, Neon Grumer doesn't keep the Gyasoline he collects inside him, but rather sends it to the Hashiriyan HQ through the Highway Space. The Boonboomgers notice that and group together to find the Kurumaju. The four Boonboomgers meet with Sakito, but before they can find the Kurumaju, they are interrupted by a mysteriously revived MadRex. Jyo recognizes Hashiri-Ken as the source of the "Pararira-Pararira" voices, and Ishiro is shocked that he survived, confusing Sakito who didn't know he was supposed to be dead. Taiya confronts Madrex Fury alone while the other Boonboomger try to find Neon Grumer. The other Boonboomgers arrive at the Hashiriyan restaurant and rescue all of the customers, angering Neon Grumer. Jyo then switches his Boonboom Change Axe to axe mode before Neon Grumer teleports all five of them to a dark warehouse. They begin fighting and Neon Grumer proves to be a very tough opponent and ties up Ishiro, Mira and Sakito. Jyo still fights the hardest until Neon Grumer causes him to de-transform. The other Boonboomgers then remember Genba and say that they really need him around, and Jyo then gets up and says that even though he can't replace Genba, he'll fill his share of fighting until he returns. He transforms again and fiercely attacks Neon Grumer, fighting him alone and successfully destroying him. They're teleported back to reality, but Yarucar then enlarges Neon Grumer. The Boonboomgers form Boonboomger Robo Police and destroy Neon Grumer once again.

Respect: Daredevil, the Hand of God (Marvel, 616)

Respect: Daredevil, the Hand of God!

I went to Hell years ago. It was Mephisto's hell and it felt like a fever dream. This feels different. This is The Beast's realm. Where The Hand begins and ends. And if it's to end... Let me end it as the hand of God.

This power up is rare, it has only appeared in two very specific situations and it has been under very specific circumstances which will be explored in more depth. The first time was after a sacrifice and leap of faith that Matt had to make to definitely face The Beast with the main objective of saving his father and best friend, although the situation then took a big turn. And the second was when Dr. Strange came to him after a peculiar conflict.

Feats are from:

Respect Chariot du Nord (Little Witch Academia [TV Series])

#Chariot du Nord

Never forget. A believing heart is your magic

Chariot du Nord is a witch and former student of the prestigious Luna Nova Magical Academy who became a famous performer under the name Shiny Chariot after graduating. Although her performances were wildly popular, many within the magical community believed Chariot's exhibitionistic use of magic in her shows gave the wrong impression of witches to the public and derided her as a fraud. When a spell went awry and harmed her audience, Chariot abandoned her career and disappeared from the public eye. Assuming the alias Ursula Callistis, Chariot became a teacher at Luna Nova.

This RT will exclusively cover the anime. Feats will be marked with the episode number they occur in.
