Thinking about doing an impression of the Russian civil war, and I have a few questions about the uniform. Gonna be buying from schusters.ru for most of it (voin is a little more expensive). I’d appreciate any info some of you guys might have.
How common were the black uniforms I see in some images & which year were they issued? If they weren’t common, what would be better for an officer? Also, I’ve read that the white army were supplied with some foreign equipment, and I’m wondering if a Sam Browne belt & ammo boots would be ok.
Apologies if I formatted any of this wrong, I don’t really use reddit.
Hey everyone,
After watching Masters of the Air, I was looking into putting a USAAF Officer uniform together. I don't really have experience with reenactment, so I dont really know where to get this stuff.
Are there any common shops that people use for these uniforms?
Much thanks in advance!
Title says it all, thinking of ordering from em
Question for all the BD fanboys here, are Nestof's BDs just Gavin resells? Or are they different?
Tried finding some but they’re all sold out, if anyone knows where I can find some reproduced or not would be great
Hey, guys. Wanted to ask a few questions:
I would appreciate some guidance on decent vendors for me, EU based looking to start Russian Imperial Army reenactment. Any reliable secondary sources for research would be brilliant as well.
I want to do an early classical Athenian hoplite impression, but can’t find any good primary sources for me to base it off of. Any artwork from that period will be appreciated.
Saw somebody else post their Haversack setup and wanted to post mine too. Doing a Medic impression which explains the 2 canteens, but let me know if I should change something.
I am looking to do an 1870s US Army impression and from what I have read it looks like the uniforms were made up of Civil War leftovers. I was just wondering where I could find decent repros for uniform pieces.
note: i already have a M40 Trousers, and a M40 tunic plus M40 helmet, what else do i need?
I'm looking for books that a redcoat of the American revolution might carry, not instructional manuals, like actual books.
Boots, Rifle, Helmet and others are bloody expensive. Plus they are rare. I don’t know what the allies did to their gear but its a shame its too expensive and too rare. Might aswell just reenact a us soldier instead :/
I’m confused now: where would the bayonet and wire cutters go? And yes, I know: I need to fill my haversack. On the left is the wire cutters pouch and on the right is the bayonet.
I am quite new to reenacting and I portray a GI in the 41st Armoured Infantry Regiment of the 2nd Armoured Division Normandy 1944. I have recently bought an original OD#7 cartridge belt but I am not sure if it would be period-correct to wear it. I would be delighted if someone was to help me out.
Looking for an affordable repro. Trying to avoid any ALICE packs. I’m looking for ARVN, lightweight, or tropical. However I would prefer not to use a frame.
Hi there,
I’m looking for French reenactment uniforms of the 1st World War in order to make a full Romanian army officer uniform (they essentially wore French equipment given to them by the French through Russian ports).
Is there any good website that sells those ? Affordable too if possible.
Thank you so much.
