Louisiana to Pac12?

With Gonzaga heading to PAC12 and TX State still on the fence, Louisiana needs to pursue membership ASAP. Zaga wouldn't join if there wasn't a solid media deal in the works and I can imagine that it will be WAY more than what we currently get with SBC. If PAC wanted to get into AAC markets, UL, TX State and A-State are the way to go.

Better Basketball, better football and Oregon State baseball and SDSU and Fresno State Softball. Plus we'd be able to keep our diamond sport rival with TX State.

It would cost a lot more travel money for sure, but with a better football and basketball schedule that comes along with this move, it's elevates the product on the field/court significantly and we'd be host teams that fans would actually want to come out to. With this increase of ticket sales, brand recognition and media rights increase would be enough to offset the travel cost and then some. The biggest argument would be that fans wouldn't be able to travel to away games...no one does that anyway. So we'd be swapping out ULM football with Boise State football, Troy basketball with Gonzaga basketball and USM baseball with Oregon State baseball. Seems like a no brainer to me. Plus we'd be able to schedule these schools anyway as a non-con.

We often complain that we don't sign home-home deals with P4's in either basketball or football. This is true for some reason and the reason Bob Marlin gave a few years ago was trash. Truth is, scheduling a SBC team hurts their SOS and that's why. So if we were to be in a multi-bid NCAA MBB league, home non-con scheduling would greatly improve since we're not so much of a liability anymore.

In addition to all of this, the college athletics landscape is changing faster than we've ever seen it. The 'system' wont let Washington State, Oregon State, Boise State, Gonzaga or San Diego State fall on the wrong side...but they will do everything they can to make sure SBC isn't included.

T-Joe was here when CUSA raided SBC back in 2012/13 and how much Farmer pooped the bed on that one. Hopefully we wont make the same mistake twice.

If you could only attend 3 home games, which ones would you choose?

I can only get a few Saturday's off work. What games should I attend?

The Cajuns Have to Beat Tulane

After both have had some program all-time high type seasons.

Way more eyeballs have been on them and the brands have improved. They fight for recruits all the time.

The Cajuns can display they are the better football program by beating them Saturday and having a better season.

Cajuns have an extra week to prepare while Tulane goes to Oklahoma. The game is at Cajun Field at 11:00am and will be aired on ESPNU.

We simply have to win this game. It should matter extra for Desormeaux’s job security.

Cajuns are 2-0. Tulane will presumably be 1-2 coming off a lose to Oklahoma.

Cajuns 2019: 11-3 2020: 10-1 2021: 13-1 2022: 6-7 2023: 6-7

Tulane 2019: 7-6 2020: 6-6 2021: 2-10 2022: 12-2 2023: 11-3

Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and Coach Raymond Blanco Scholarship

Hey I was wondering if anyone has received this scholarship in the past or know someone that has received it. I was thinking about applying for it if they have it again next fall. I looked on the University of Namur’s website and it seems they don’t offer my major over there. If I cannot take any courses pertaining to my major there, is it best to save my gen eds for if I take the scholarship as to not waste time taking classes I’ve already taken. I really want to apply for this scholarship, but at the same time I don’t wanna waste time and be behind on my track to graduate. I’ll be a junior by the end of the semester, I’m not sure if that will disqualify me since it says “1st cycle” and all that jazz. I’m not sure how their education works 100% in Belgium. If anyone has any info on at least someone I can talk to it would be greatly appreciated!

Young Ragin Cajuns Club

Where can you pick up the lanyards today? In the past, they've had a table set up on the concourse of the baseball field.

Are you supposed to stay in dorm on move in day?

I know this sounds silly but I have no idea. My son moves in today but I don't know if he's supposed to stay here.

Online Informatics Degree

Hey all. I am looking to enroll in the online Masters program for Informatics. Does anyone have any insight on the program? I work full time and I am a single parent so I want to make sure this will be doable for me. Also, has anyone been able to find a job after completing the program. Thanks!

Student guest tickets for football: good idea to wait until they go on sale?

I’m no longer a student but my friend is. It appears that he can get cheap guest tickets for football games (specifically, the Tulane game), but they don’t go on sale for another few weeks. Is it better to buy general admission tickets now or risk there being no more space by the time guest tickets go on sale?

KNES 499

I am a senior KNES major in my last semester and I need to do my internship. There is very little information online about how the program works so I’m hoping someone in here knows.

Do I just pick anywhere to intern? I saw they have a list of sites but I didn’t know if those were just suggestions or the only options. I’ve talked to the AD of a high school about doing it with their PE dept, but the school isn’t on the list. The way it’s set up it seems like you get all the information after you turn in your contract to the office so I’m trying to get ever squared away before I go in.

Are solid bags allowed at ULL?

Simple question, I tried looking for any mention of what kind bags are allowed on campus, and only got rules for the stadiums and ceremonies. The high schools I went to all had mesh bags so I was wondering if UL allows solid bags or is it the same as high schools?

What do I do?

So I called housing today and asked if they could tell me if I was getting housing, they could not which is understandable. I then asked what do I do if I don't get housing but i'm not quite sure what they said and I don't want it to seem like i'm bothering them so I was wondering if any of y'all knew what to do? I don't have enough money for an apartment plus i'll be a freshman and I don't have any family in Lafayette but my friend does and I don't know if it would be too much to ask my friend if her family would be comfortable with me living with them til at least the second semester or next year.

Question

If I went to orientation and registered for classes and will be a student this coming fall does that mean i'm still guaranteed housing even though I paid late?

Please help or if this has happened to you should I be worried??

So I''m supposed to be going to college at ULL soon but I'm worried I wont have a dorm because I payed a little later than the suggested day to pay for our housing application, the suggested day was May first and I paid May eighteenth. I've emailed and called the people and they both said they are still issuing out housing assignments but they said only for a week and that from then it depend on if people cancel so I'm concerned because my friends have already gotten theirs granted they paid before me and before May first. What do I do y'all?

Cajun Field

Are the Cajuns planning to play home games at Cajun Field this season? I heard the new stadium will not be ready until 2025. I’m sure more will be made available soon, someone asked me and I didn’t know about seating.

Math 105 virtual?

Would yall recommend taking math 105 with Bailey Ross as the instructor? Are tests in class or midterms and finals etc.? As a nursing major I'm trying to make my life a lil easier for my first freshman semester.
