Hello I’m looking for the episode where they talk about the things that come from China, the piñata, golf and Chinese checkers
I think it was in series P or Q but cannot remember but if anyone can remember whereabouts it would be or even a panellist who was in the episode it would be greatly apprericted
Not a fan of the many word questions where they show many words and then talk about each word. I think it stalls the comedic rhythm of the show IMO
Point in fact, Stephen asks, "Where did Ian Fleming come up with the name James Bond." Alan says, "From note paper."
One interesting fact that I remember from watching the show a few years back (Series O, Episode 16) was the claim that Rome was built on 8 hills, not 7. Supposedly there was just some confusion amongst the Romans, even according to classicist and Ancient Rome expert, Mary Beard. However, I've never been able to find any evidence to back this up, including the quote from Mary Beard. Granted, my research skills within the realm of classical literature and archaeology is limited, but it seems wierd that I've never heard this claim anywhere else either.
Does anyone have any evidence of this claim? Is this just a mistake on the show's part or one of those 'what we thought was later proved wrong' moments? Or is this actually just a super obscure fact that, despite being stated on one of the UK's most popular quiz shows, people just still don't know about?
Admittedly it's PROBABLY the last two non-compilation episodes. The BBC always counts the 'VG' episodes in their list and for QI for many years there have always been two.
Tuesday April 23, 2024 (14/17): Underground and Underwater
Panel: Zoe Lyons, Dan Tiernan, Josh Widdicombe
Tuesday April 30, 2024 (15/17): Ulex
Panel: Bridget Christie, Rosie Jones, Cariad Lloyd
Sandi mentioned an average speed of 110mph in ep 13, but the closest thing I can find is more like 40 according to Wikipedia.
Where did the elves find out about this high speed log flume?
Or maybe just fill me in on a few facts . .. .
I seem to remember there was a documentary that explained the rings of information behind Stephen / Sandy.
And it talked about the Elves' scoring system - how only they know how it works and will reward / demote points even years later from a show's original airing.
Any leads to find it?
EDIT ------------------
My buddy texted me that this might be it: QI. The Making of..... - video Dailymotion
If you have other suggestions please share!
Hi guys :) I wanted to surprise my friend who (like me) loves QI. I’ve looked online and tickets (apparently free) aren’t available? I understand that but when will the next recordings take place? 2025? Later?
Years ago, when I realised that the 'U' series was coming up and that they would probably have a 'University' show, I posted on the message board that Northampton was the third English university, and it got used on yesterday's show! I don't know if they got it from the message board or arrived at it independently, but I like to think that I had something to do with it. Excellent.
In which someone asks Stephen Fry a question, to which his response is "I don't know, I don't know, I simply don't know". It's hilarious but I can never remember what episode this clip features. Please help!
I don’t know if anyone else reads the Britbox emails, but the last one listed new shows being added and the dates.
It says Series U will be there April 1.
There’s no chance this is an April Fools joke or something, right? I don’t want to get my hopes crushed.
Of course tonight was Upsy-Daisy, but we'll be getting at least two in a row now.
9pm 2nd of April (Tue): Underthings XL (11/17)
Panel: Maisie Adam, Daliso Chaponda, Jack Dee
The schedule actually has a still from the show where most episodes have a standard image used for the whole series. Maisie is wearing a mask while sniffing something that looks like a cheese wedge.
9pm 9th of April (Tue): University XL
Panel: Guz Khan, Joe Lycett, Morgana Robinson
This will be Morgana's first time on the show.
edit: Forgot to make sure it was clear these are the XL episodes.
I need a list of all of QI's questions and answers for a python project that will be similar to QI's episode where they had an AI generate questions. Preferably as PDF. Thanks
Regards as ever to the audience members who took the time to report back; if you know about the one recording I couldn't find an audience member for or any of the unknown themes, that would be much appreciated.

Was planning a holiday to the UK and wanted to catch a taping.
I think they would tape it sometime from January to March correct?
I seem to remember there was a series where each episode they presented a possible theory that is unlikely to be true but nonetheless Quite Interesting.
The one I remember is that nothing notable happened within a 30 year or more period (I think around 700-800 AD) and that a possible theory was that the papacy had moved the date forward, as in saying the correct year was 780 instead of 740 for example.
Sorry I don’t recall any more specific detail. I seem to remember this was a theme across more than one episode.
I know there have been themes on season such as “nobody knows” and “spend a penny”. Is it possibly something from the “nobody knows” series?
Tried Googling but no luck.
hello to all fellow americans. i generally feel compelled to out of appreciation for the joke. i'm already laughing along with them, how is clapping different
furthermore is it just me or is the clapping a fairly british/commonwealth thing? i feel like we very very rarely reward extra good jokes with applause in the US
Next episode will be:
9pm Tuesday 26th of March, 2024:
Upsydaisy (E10 of 17): Justin Moorhouse, Emmanuel Sonubi, and Holly Walsh

This was the one mentioned by several folks as being the 300th recorded episode. It will be interesting to see if that comes out in the broadcast. At first my calculations showed the 300th episode should be in Series S, but then I realized that the episode count on the list of episodes included compilation episodes which don't count to 'recorded episodes' of course, heh.
