Which PSP game started bad and ended bad?

Top voted answer wins the spot at the end of today (10/4/24). I’ll post the next one tomorrow.

How do I go about diagnosing a sticking button?

Took apart my 2000 the other day to replace the flex cable for the right control pad, and after putting it back together, it seems my R button is sticking. What I can’t figure out is whether it’s physically sticking or if I broke something while installing the flex cable.

I’ve been meaning to open it up and take the R button off to test but I haven’t gotten around to doing it yet, so I was just wondering if anyone here had any ideas or tips. Thanks in advance!

Advice first time buying

I have been thinking about buying a PSP, however i never owned one. I initially wanted to get a PSP 3000, but they are kind of hard to come across where i live (don't want to purchase online) and ended up finding a PSP 2000 Final Fantasy Crisis Core edition at around 100 bucks, in pretty good condition with only a few scratches on the back ring, with a charger and a new battery. I have done a bit of research but still not sure if it is worth it.

Any comments on the price? Any advice or tips for a potential future user?

Help PSP Reshell

Hey everyone, I’m finishing up my PSP reshell, but the screws don’t seem to fit properly in the new shell. As you can see in the image, the screws won’t go down any further. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I fix it?

Need help finding a lost psp theme!

hey all, here is a theme I found while browsing older posts about where to find psp themes online and came across this website and it had a sheena ringo theme I really wanted but there are no downloads to any themes on the website and looks more like a showcase of the themes. here is the link to the theme on the website:
https://www.pspthemecentral.com/PSP/download/PSP-themes/Ringo_Apple.aspx

if anyone can find where I can download this theme I would really appreciate it!

Double the fun

As much as I love emulation, the OG psp just feels right. Wish rockstar would make this game again.

WHO WOULD TAKE IT

Is a psp 3000 with these scratch marks on the screen worth it if its 35$ but it just the console itself?🤔

Anyone else jam this playlist while walking?

When I was younger, when I first got this game and console, I would keep the screen off, and listen to this playlist before I manually put MP3’s.

That is more worthwhile

It's more worth it to get a Nintendo 3DS or a PSP I had a Nintendo 3DS before, but I'm thinking of exchanging it for a PSP 2000 Do you think the psp is worth it?

PSP games are corrupted, but not the PSX one

So im hacking my psp bc it has issues reading the UMD discs. I got the CWPRO, i got game catalog lite. It just showed the South Park game from the ps1, but it showed TS2 and Parapa2 as corrupted files.

I had to: 1- Put the ISO folder, with both game isos intact, on games 2- Then put the ISO folder on the memory stick's root 3- Then i extracted the iso files in the ISO folder and puted back on the GAME folder 4- Then put the ISO folder on the PSP folder (didnt showed up both games) 5- And finally i put the ISO folder back at the memory stick's root.

And all lead to corrupted files.

I need to know how to solve this problem. Need answears please.

eBay searching for handhelds

I was looking at PSP consoles and had a few question for all you PSP pros. sorry I don’t remember how to make bullets. Q1- I see lots of models listed as Imports, any reason to shy away from these or will they play my current library? Q2- Vitas are about the same price, I used to have one, but IIRC it played my digital PSP games, am I misremembering?

Swollen battery

I was charging a psp I found around the house. I turned it on while it was charging and was trying to connect to my WiFi and I heard a pop. It was the battery case opening do to the battery swelling I think. now it won’t click back in to the battery slot and battery door won’t close. Can it be saved or is it no good? Hope it didn’t damage the psp smh.

Half Minute Hero/Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Podcast Review

Episode 85: Half Minute Hero (PSP), Odin Sphere Leifthrasir (PS Vita)

https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/Qe0MFVMBeOb

https://linktr.ee/livinglavitalocapodcast

Hi Podfans

We're powering our PSP and PS Vita this week with two games that have a bit of genre fusion occurring...

Over in 'PSP Plaza' we have Half Minute Hero (2009, PSP), a part RPG, RTS, SHMUP and action adventure all thrown into one title. Fazz has never really played anything like it on the PSP before and well... we're not sure he's played a better game on the PSP... ever!

Managing to cram so many genre twists into a 12 hour handheld experience indicates someone used their time better in the game development than the Time Goddess does just raking in the moolah and abusing our heroes.

Meanwhile on 'PS Vita Vista', we're increasingly concerned about the depth of the Vita's back catalogue. Thankfully, Rich has sourced a very good genre mashup game in the guise of sidescrolling/Beat 'em up/RPG remake Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir (2016, PS Vita).

Odin Sphere was released in 2007 in the death throes of the PS2 era but it was deemed worthy enough to receive a shiny upgrade for the next generation nine years later. The game garnered very positive reviews at the time of release across all consoles. Does Rich think that it is a well rounded experience worth having in his hands?

Enjoy the pod.

The phone only boots when open so I'm guessing it's not the screen.

The eBay listing did say messed up cfw. It only boots up and doesn't go further

Before "UFO 50" there was "WTF - Work Time Fun"...and it might be better :D

Game: WTF - Work Time Fun

Platform: PSP

Device tested on: Trimui SP (great performance, no issues)

Game size: 430MB

The concept of the game collection/bundle "UFO 50" proved to be very successful and popular - but what if I told you that back in 2005 a similar concept had been created and that [insert highly subjective opinion here] it might actually be more fun :D

WTF - Work Time Fun's plot is pretty straightforward - you're in Hell. In order to earn some currency down there you need to pick up part time jobs. These part time jobs are all mini-games that you need to complete.

At first you're only offered four jobs and they are boring, repetitive (part of your punishment for being in hell) but as you work you unlock more interesting part time jobs/games. As you move around between jobs you sometimes hear pained screams and whips cracking on the backs of your fellow coworkers. The game looks and sounds just perfect.

In total there are over 40 of these mini games/part time work opportunities that you can unlock.

The jobs you can get ranges from {quoting Wiki here): "counting chickens (sorting newborn chicks into male, female, or angels), chopping wood (while trying not to chop cute cartoon animals that sometimes get put on the chopping block), putting caps on pens in a factory, karate, and other humorously repetitive minigames. By completing these minigames, the player earns money which can be used at a gachapon machine to randomly receive a new minigame, prizes for the gallery, etc"

As you continue your work career in Hell you get emails and messages from other employees that often complain about the work, their failed dreams, etc.. I loved the email function and had great fun reading these messages as they came in.

The game is great for quick 15 mins pickup games as you keep grinding for more rewards and to unlock more hellish, lifeless minigames for you to go to work in :)

If you're intrigued here's a review video showing some of the gameplay: https://youtu.be/F-dk8XnVz-E?t=134

Unpopular opinion: I prefer WTF to UFO 50 :)

How to check what screen I have on my PSP?

So I have a PSP-1000. I got it from person who loved to modify things and network connection is not working, so there is a chance that it might be modded. But I got it like 15 years ago and can't confirm with them if it was actually modded. So, is there any way to check if my PSP was modded, especially the screen?
