My friend went to ego on Friday and her drink was spiked with benzodiazepines and barbiturates. Be careful everyone.
The "local" paper keeps putting a picture of the eastbound and bikepath bridges on the front page
and calling it the defunct westbound
Are there any shops/artists offering deals on tattoos for the 13th? 🕸️ 👻
does anyone know what happened on messer st around 1:15ish am? there were at least 30 cops (most with hands on their guns), a lot of yelling, and it ended in a huge foot chase going down messer street and maybe down hudson street? not too sure, but it seemed like something pretty serious
I love adding chicken/steak to my salads, but I'd much rather buy the chicken/steak already cooked than having to cook it myself. What do you guys suggest? I'm thinking about buying rotisserie chickens from Whole Foods. Let me know if you have other suggestions for buying cooked chicken/steak in the Providence area (bonus points if they're budget friendly)
Tried out the dark lady tonight and it was a ton of fun! Although music was pretty good, hardly anyone was dancing though! Also looking for a slightly younger college student crowd. Any recommendations?
Today, leaving PVD fest, I had to walk a bit to my car which I had parked over on Broadway for proximity and ease. I didn't mind as it's been a beautiful day out and having to park a bit has reminded me of how nice it can be to walk around the city more.
So, as I'm crossing the interstate on foot, nearing Broadway, a large truck with two men in it pulls a left in front of me while I cross on a walk signal (this is fine as I was far from their car). I continue to cross the crosswalk and notice that the guys have stopped their truck 5-10 feet after taking a left and the road was totally clear. I only noticed it in passing and continued to cross and focus on the sidewalk. As I got closer to the truck walking across the street, the guy driving must have honked his after market train/boat horn to scare me--- WTF. The unhinged driver even waited for me to get as close as possible before blasting out my ear with his illegal car mod and driving off.
This is why people don't want to walk or bike here. I have been honked at or told to get out of the road on my bike on many occasions, but this one really shook me up for some reason (maybe it's because the sound was excruciatingly loud). It makes me feel like I need to walk or bike with my husband to maybe not get targeted like this (but it probably would have still happened, just with another witness to validate how scary it was as a pedestrian).
I know it's doubtful that they're even from Providence and don't represent the many wonderful people of the city, but this kind of entitlement and superiority to the roads here is so enraging and keeps people from getting around without driving.
haters gonna hate!
Hi all,
Today my sister dropped her bracelet on Hope street somewhere between CVS and Hope High School. It is the thick solid one on the photo. It was a gift from our grandmother and has sentimental value. If anyone found it please reach out, it would make us very happy. I can give a reward of $250 to the finder. Thank you!
Okay, so your good friends from Boston want to come visit on Sunday and offer to pick up lunch anywhere you’d like in Providence (it has to be carry-out, we have one house-bound member of the party.) I need to tell them where to get food today. These are the only places I’ve thought of so far: Apsara, Durk’s, Pizza Marvin. What’s your go-to group carry out destination? We’re pretty much omnivores except for one who refuses to eat sushi. Thoughts?
Hey, the other day I saw an account on insta post about some music production and DJ classes. Didn’t save the link and now I can’t find where it was being hosted. Any chance some1 has/ knows where the info is? Thanks!
*Rumor*
Many people are saying that around 5 PM today (Saturday) near City Hall there will be a dunk tank featuring Brett Smiley and Jim DeRentis. It's going to be a fundraiser. $10 for 3 balls. Proceeds will go towards the dismantling of the South Water street bike lane.
I'm not sure if this is true, but you never know...
does anyone know what actually happened to KitchenBar on Hope Street?? I know they weren't ~the best~ food around, but I have heard from a staff member at pizzico that KB did in fact close permanently. this comes after the place shut down 'for a few weeks' earlier in the month (least, that is what the note on the door says) but nothing else. anyone have any inside scoop? just strikes me as strange...
Would be fun to watch with a mostly left leaning group!
Was doing bike loops on Blackstone this morning. Got a flat. Decided to walk the mile home and fix it in leisure.
Almost every passing (road) cyclist stopped to ask if I needed a tube. In one case, two parents were riding home with their a kid in a baby carrier from the farmers' market; one of them stopped, turned around, and came back to make sure that I didn't need anything.
Whoever y'all are — thank you!
Can anyone recommend a store that sells bulk spices from bins where you can measure out the quantity that you want?
They were also on Bojack Horseman! From Ohio they kick things off early at 2:15PM
Went this morning and there's a big ol lock on it
After being woken up before 5am on a Saturday, falling asleep, and then being woken up again at 5:40am by the loudest, clunkiest trash pick up vehicle it really has me wondering. Does the east side have to deal with these ass-crack of dawn pickups on Fridays and Saturdays?
This is not to mention the vehicles themselves which are some of the worst pick-up vehicles ive seen in any city. I have straight up seen these things grab a bin, fling the trash everywhere while it dumps into the truck, and then toss the bin onto the ground on its side. It's no wonder there is constantly trash scattering all the streets, and all the bins are broken.
I was checking out the Myrtle East Providence website and they don’t have a monthly calendar anymore. I only saw a flyer for a show/band tomorrow night.
Did they stop doing the live music/events every night? That was the best part about that place.
With Federal Taphouse closing, might need some help with finding a new place that has Buffalo Chicken Dip and plays the Patriots on Sundays
Does anyone know what happened with federal taphouse? It was one of my favorite places to eat and I just found out it suddenly closed.
I saw the Dark Lady, afro carribean, any others?
