A place where propagate-able plants are given a second chance at life
Share your Home Depot, Lowe's, and general floor finds here! If it's less than a full plant, you're going to propagate it, and it didn't come from a curated public plant we'd love to see it!
If you have any questions about what to do with your props regarding stage-by-stage, look no further! It's all in this Google Doc I made!
Wondering if your prop is crested? Is your pup looking a little weird with clustered sprouts? Take a peek at this Google Doc and find out!
**As of 28th of March 2018, we now allow and encourage propagations of plants that are not succulents! Show it all off here! Anything you can propagate goes here.
**As of 1st of November 2019 there will be a minor crackdown on memes and merchandise. Plant merch is cool, but this is a sub for propagation and advice somewhat exclusively. Your fun succulent merch probably works better in /r/succulents or /r/houseplants.
**Please message mods before any competitions or sweepstakes.

I have 2 rooted Kalanchoe blossfeldiana leaves. They just seem happy to exist and it's been around 2 months now and nothing is happening. Are they like the zombie Hoya kerii leaves they sell around Valentine's Day or will they actually grow into something? Anyone ever got a plant from a leaf cutting of Kalanchoe blossfeldiana?
Literally noticed yesterday. I cut the rot off with clean scissors and put a little dab of peroxide at the end. Piece I’m holding came off tonight. Very worried about the red spot that’s what it looked like yesterday before it rotted. This is a philo mayoi cutting I’d really prefer to keep it alive. Only a leaf is growing out no root yet which is why I’m extra worried.
Brought home some strays. any advice is appreciated 🙏
Just got this ZZ plant sprig, can I just stick it in water? The little bulb is confusing me
I took a cutting from my Somerset grape vine several weeks ago because I was worried it might not survive winter (I'm pretty far up in Canada and it will be it's first winter) and then sort of forgot about it. It was in a glass of water in my plant room in the basement and I just stumbled upon it today while cleaning up the place. Looks like it did grow roots! And there's even new leaves growing too! I hope I will manage to keep it alive until I can move it outside in spring.
Attempt 3 at propagating Thai holy basil (Kaprao) from leftovers of my local Thai restaurant.
A small leaf tip I cut off and let callous overnight, I just placed it into some lightly moist soil like this about an eighth inch deep. Is this an ok method?
I drove quite a ways to get this plant on clearance. They had sold out but there was a beautiful leaf remaining 😂
Would you try to prop? I have rooting hormone 🤷🏻♀️
That guy at the bottom was waiting for a long time.
I saved this from a seller I have a few that I saved but will it grow on the stem ? It’s a felt bush.
I just have one cutting
I have some crappy miracle grow soil, perlite, vermiculite, and sand to work with. I could prop it in water, but it’s generally not recommended for these guys.
I’m thinking a humidity dome for this guy since this time of year the parent plant was probably dormant.
Any suggestions for where to cut? Should I leave some of the brown woody part?
I found this offshoot of my Sansevieria cylindrica that fell off on its own. I'm not sure why it happened, but can it be propagated? Any tips would be appreciated!
