Hey guys so I recently been debating between these two schools that I’ve been accepted too. On one hand Colorado I would be getting in state tuition. But I currently reside in Arizona for undergrad. However Arizona is notorious for how difficult it is to qualify as instate residency despite living here for 4 years. I’ve done some research on NAPLEX passing rates and the curriculums but I’m still stuck on between the two. I would like to stay in Arizona but money wise it’s about 16k more for out of state students than Colorado. I would love some feedback!
So I applied to UGA and UNC and got accepted into UGA, but am still waiting on UNC. If I don't get admitted to UNC and end up going to Georgia, what are the chances I pay in-state tuition after the first year once I've lived there and paid out-of-state the first year? This really affects my decision and where I put my deposit, as paying out-of-state for all four years is not preferable. Does anyone have experience with receiving in-state tuition if they have to move? Thanks!
Hi all. I submitted my application a day before the deadline. My transcripts and LOR were sent and confirmed 2 weeks before that. Now I'm freaking out. Does the time for verification count toward the deadline or as long as I press submit before the deadline it is okay, verified or not?
Thanks all >.< If know please reply, I'm freaking out so much now
I'm so nervous for the interviews! I wanna get in so badly! Is getting an interview a good sign I may get in?
Hi, where do you put AP scores from high school on pharmcas? It’s not under any of my official transcripts.
hi everyone! i'm a hs senior and recently applied for midwestern university's 2+3 program for pharmacy. now, i have an online interview on wednesday from 8am-12pm (so i believe it's a group interview?).
i saw on another forum that they make you write an essay or two? "if someone is cheating and you think they're cheating on you way do you do? & "describe professionalism" but that's really all i could find.
does anyone know what questions they'd ask? how do group interviews work?
thank you so much for your help :D
Hello all, as of right now I am nearly 99 percent committed to a college for pre pharmacy. I am totally inlove with this college and have already found my roommate and made some friends. And the pharmacy program at this school is pretty good. I ultimately do want to make a change in healthcare but like everyone else, money is a concern and something to consider.
To my understanding pharmacist make about 120k right out of college, and then cap off around 150k ish? Please correct if i am wrong. Either way, I want to be able to make more than that and im honestly not sure if 150k would be enough for the lifestyle im looking for? I love chemistry and am pretty good at school. And from what I heard the worklife balance for pharmacist is not looking hot. Along with this Im nervous about there being enough jobs out there for pharmacist. Would it be better to switch to a PA track or dentistry? I can get my Pharm D degree in 6 years with under 15k of student debt with where I am at now. Please give advice or how your experience in the Pharm D world is.
Hi, I got a letter of rec from a TA, but how does the professor co-sign the letter? Is there an option on liaison letters for that? Thanks!!
Applied to USC 1 day before priority deadline. Haven’t heard back for an interview. Applied to UCSF and SD in late October, no word back on interview too 😅
Should I be worried?
Hi everyone, I’m 22, currently in my third year of college with a 3.9 GPA, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. I’m trying to decide between three career paths: • Pharmacy School: I would need to transfer next year to pursue this path. • Dental Hygiene School: I would stop my current program and switch to dental hygiene, which is shorter and less expensive. • Dentistry School: I would need to finish my bachelor’s degree first, making this the longest and most expensive option.
I’m weighing the costs, time, and earning potential of each, and I’d love to hear from anyone in these fields or anyone who has faced a similar decision. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Hi all. I’m a HS junior trying to decide between these two careers. I have a few factors I considered for the career paths.
If I were to go into pharmacy, I’d first study chemistry as an undergrad, and I’d obviously study chemE if I were going to be a chemical engineer. Personally, I find chemistry very interesting, so I see myself liking the chem major.
I feel that as a pharmacist, I would have a direct impact in helping people’s lives, but for ChemE, I guess maybe chemical production can help people, but the effect it has seems less direct than helping people.
I looked up the pay for both, and it seems pharmacist pay is flat but kinda high as a whole. It seems to be about 130-140K for most people throughout their career. For ChemE, I’ve seen the sunrecruiting survey.
https://www.sunrecruiting.com/report-results23/
It seems ChemE starts lower, but goes up much higher. Around 80K starting salary and plateaus at 175K base after 20 YOE by the survey results. I don’t really know what to make of this or which one is better pay here. It seems like both are viable options. It’s worth noting that in the 6 years it takes pharmacists to complete pharmacy school + residency, the ChemE median salary is up to $125K for the 6-10 year bracket.
I’m someone who really likes problem solving, and because of this, ChemE has an appeal to me here. Pharmacy seems like a lot of repetitive work, and IDK what to think about that.
Pharmacy definitely has a lot more of this, but I imagine apart from upstream O&G, chemE jobs aren’t super unstable.
As a whole, the intellectual stimulation, not requiring 6 years extra after undergrad, and the pay growth in chemE seem to steer me towards chemE over pharmacy. What do y’all think of this evaluation.
the waiting game for a possible interview is killing me. I sent in my application before their Nov. 1st deadline but there were some issues with my transcripts so they've just received my verified PharmCAS. I applied to one singular school (because I don't want to go anywhere else). They emailed me saying they got my application and now I'm checking my email every 20 minutes seeing if I have another from them. Been in close contact with them for months, toured the school, and changed my degree plan so I'd graduate earlier so i can go to pharmacy school if i get in. My GPA isn't stellar (a 2.32) but I've picked myself back up and actually began applying myself again. I have a backup plan too just incase i do not get in. The anxiety of waiting is starting to give me either false hope or rejection anticipation lmao. What did you guys to do battle this anxiety or how long did it take them to offer you an interview? I know the american holidays can mess with their timing, but I'm absolutely feinding for an email from this school lmao
Which school is better? I know northeastern is expensive than uconn, but would it have better opportunities for residency or internships since its in boston area or it doesn’t matter?
Hey guys. I recently got accepted into UHCOP and I was wondering if anyone knew of good apartments to stay around there? (Any pros and cons would be great)
Hello everyone! I’ve applied to the USC pharmacy program about a month ago before priority ended. I haven’t heard back till now not even for an interview. Should I be freaking out?
I am a sophomore in university planning on graduating next year (2026). My current plan is to complete the pharmacy school pre-reqs and apply to begin that following fall (2027); however, I hear/see a lot of negativity towards pharmacy...is it all true? I have always considered healthcare and I am not sure why, but pharmacy seems the most applying to me as a person out of all the common fields. (med, dent, nursing, PA, etc.)
Can you still get a job outside of retail without residency and fellowship--or are those almost required now for a non-retail positions? I see people on social media working for cosmetic brands and things like that--are those opportunities very rare and not realistic?
Also, can you explain what being a pharmacy student is/was like (Difficulty level, work-life balance, stress, etc.)? I am asking this because I do not want to give so much to school if the outcome is not worth it. I understand pharm school will obviously be hard, but exactly what should someone expect (do you have to be a genius? lol) ?
I’m trying to decide between university of minnesota and ferris state university for pharmacy school and except for umn’s overall better ranking, they seem similar in most ways.
I’m Canadian and ferris is 7h away from home, while umn is 11h away, for added context.
Which one should I choose?
Hello, I'm currently enrolled in two prerequisite classes to apply for pharmacy school this cycle. If I submit my official transcript over, it won't show that I'm currently enrolled in them as they haven't started yet. Will this cause any problems with my application?
Hello,
So I'm starting pharamcy school in 2025 and they didn't give me a large enough scholarship to really pay for pharmacy school out of pocket. My tuition is about 28K andually and I need to get it decreased significantly. I'm thinking taking out a loan would be my only option, but I really do not want to be in debt.
Therefore I ask: -what outside scholarships are available.
-would you recommend working while in pharmacy school? Does that put a strain on you? -overall what do you guys recommend i do?
Hi! So I’ve had two acceptances to pharm schools, but both of them require an answer before I can interview for my other schools (they gave me like two weeks to reply 😭). Has anyone request an extension due to the same reason before/how did u do it? Do they normally grant these kinds of requests? Appreciate any help lol i’m rly stressed ab making a decision regarding this
Have you heard back from UCSD Skaggs?
Anyone has an idea if this program guarantees a spot for the pharmD program?
Hi everyone, has anyone heard back from WSU regarding an interview?
Also, if anyone has tips or suggestions for interviews at Binghamton or Buffalo, I'd really appreciate it!
Hi people!! I’m having a hard time on choosing which school to pay deposit. I got offer from OSU(Ohio) and USC, but still waiting to hear back from UNC and UCSF. OSU and USC both required me to pay in early December to keep my spot. OSU is good for a higher ranking on pharmacy school. USC is good for the location and networking (and they give scholarship to me). I have no idea which one to choose and like which program is better in general?
Is there a group chat or community for Class of 2029?
Thank you everyone!
I am a 21 year old male and am currently working in a pharmacy as a tech and am intrested in becoming a pharmacist I have been looking into it and am wondering the most efficient and cost friendly way towards that goal thank you in advance to anyone willing to help
Hi guys, I need any recommendations on documentaries relating to pharmacy because I can't seem to find any good ones that I can write about in my personal statement. Anything helps, thanks
Hi, I already submitted my PharmCAS application to one school and got an interview offer in December. Recently, I added another LOR to apply to other schools.
Will this new LOR also go to the schools I already applied to? If so, will they re-review my application?
Hi, i'm just looking for a bit of advice I want to do pre pharmacy once i eventually transfer out of community college (i originally was doing credits towards premed requirements but luckily the classes i've taken overlap good w pre pharmacy ) but i truly want to do engineering.
pharmacy seems to me sort of a compromise between what my parents want and what i want-- and I wouldn't mind pursuing pharmacy.
however i am just wondering is it worth it to complete a undergrad degree in engineering (probably mechanical) (while doing the prerequisite for pharmacy) and then go to pharmacy school? what would be best for me? sorry if what i'm saying is all over the place I hope what im trying to explain makes sense
edit: conversation w my parents went well i THINK im just gonna do engineering. yippee 🤩🥳 i was being a bit insane to do both engineering and pre pharmacy but thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it
