Server connection issue (Rainbow six siege)

For the past 2 weeks, I've encountered an issue where I consistently disconnect before reaching the main menu. Occasionally, even after successfully connecting to the server and queuing for a ranked match with friends, I face disconnection while they proceed into the match seamlessly. Is this a problem with R6S servers or an issue with my network connection?

Very high render latency on TV

I have an acer nitro AN515-45. I wanted to play celeste by connecting to my tv by an hdmi 2.1 cable

However, on PC while i get only 1ms render latency, on TV i am getting 25ms latency on average.

What is the probable reason for this? Is the cable the problem? Because it should be using dGPU directly for rendering on external monitor

My pc fans get really loud when gpu hits 100% in task manager

Hello, as the title reads this is what it does now, but not up until like 6 months ago (i've had this pc for 5 years) When I play less graphic intensive games like Minecraft it's fine but when my gpu hits 100% in task manager (on games like hunt showdown or for honor) the fans will be extremely loud, if the gpu usage goes down to like 90% or below they'll shut up but then the fans will go back to being extremely loud once it hits 100% again. It's very frustrating and annoying. Like I said this didn't start happening until like 6 months ago but now it almost makes me not want to even play slightly graphic intensive games bc it just gets SO loud. The performance seems to be fine too and everything too so i'm unsure of the issue. I've tried dusting my pc out with an electronic duster a couple times but it still gets loud on those certain games. I'm starting to think it might be something messed up with the GPU itself or some wire is loose or something but idek. Please help!

Also, my GPU is an RTX Nvidia 2080

CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 3800x

16 gb of ram.

in case you needed to know.

Will removing my SSD, resetting my PC, and then put it back in keep my data saved?

Hello!

I recently moved my computer to a new desk and the cpu was getting very hot(+200F°) upon startup and playing games and took it to a shop. Long story short, they said that the cpu was unlocked and to get it back to factory settings I needed to factory reset my PC. I was just wandering that if I were to remove my WD Black 1tb SSD from my MoBo, factory reset my PC, and then put it back in, would all my files, data, game etc. still be there like normal?

Thanks for any help!

PC shutting off while gaming

Just as the title states, my PC seems to turn randomly while gaming. I first noticed this when playing Helldivers II and would always occur right when a 40 minute mission would end and transition back to HQ. Figured this may be some weird optimization messing with my computer but when playing Manor Lords, it seems to be shutting off at random intervals. This doesn't seem to occur with other games I've been playing recently as well such as My Time at Sandrock, Diablo IV, and Valorant. So this seems likely to be some spike hitting a security threshold and, as a safety measure, shutting everything off, right?

Well, this seems very likely to be a failing PSU not delivering enough power. So I bought a brand new PSU to replace this one and all the cables associated. Note that I've been using the PC for maybe 4 years with the current configuration without issue until recently, so no new hardware changes have occurred. After changing the PSU out, the issue persists. I checked Event View which indicated some issues but I cleared these all up and now I'm not getting any more errors but again the issue persists.

I've deleted and re-added all new drivers. Ensured Windows is most up to date. I ran tests with HWi and I'm not seeing anything that looks like overheating. Logs showing up to the point of the crash show a core temp hovering around 43C and GPU shows 85C, which is more on the warmer end but I don't think its really at a breaking point.

I ran Heaven Benchmark with no issues averaging the same temps. I ran Cinebench with no issues. I'm reviewed many forums facing the same issue but am at a loss of what it could be.

UserBenchmarks: Game 48%, Desk 85%, Work 48%

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X - 82.2%

GPU: AMD RX 580 - 52.9%

SSD: Sandisk S3 1T02 1TB - 94.7%

HDD: WD Blue 2TB (2015) - 59.4%

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 C15 4x8GB - 74.9%

Streaming a game from host PC to Laptop through Steam (resolution issue)

On my main gaming PC, I have an Alienware widescreen QD OLED monitor (3440x1440 @ 175hz / 43:18 ratio / Nvidia RTX 4070ti). I sometimes remotely stream the game through steam connect to my macbook pro (M1 16' / 3456x2234 / 16:10). The game streams nicely. However, steam streams the game with the host PC's monitor ratio/resolution, resulting in a widescreen ratio on my 16:10 mac. This means the game displays across the center with the host's ratio. This makes it difficult to see UI text and objects as they appear too small. I have tried to set a custom resolution and ratio on the host PC as Nvidia's settings include that option. The problem there is the shear number of parameters in the window for the custom setting is too complex for me to easily figure out.

Has anyone had success doing this to set the host PC's resolution to match the client's, so the game would run at the client's native ratio / resolution or even a close approximation? OR - Is there a way to have Steam manipulate the resolution and ratio that the game streams in on the fly?

Lost 40+ Hours of Progress in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Hi everyone,I recently encountered a major issue with my Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty game on Xbox Game Pass. After putting in over 40 hours of gameplay, I launched the game and clicked 'Continue,' only to find myself back at level 1. It seems my save file has been overwritten or lost. I've already tried the following without success: *Restarting the game and PC *Checking for any game updates *Ensuring I'm signed into the correct account *Contacting Xbox Support and Koei Tecmo Support, both of whom said it would be impossible to recover the save I'm really hoping someone here might have additional suggestions or solutions. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there any way to recover an overwritten save file, or is my progress gone forever? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Gpu revs up and then screen goes dark

Gpu keeps reving up and then not displaying anything

Pc keeps crashing

So screen goes black, then GPU revs up. It still seems operational but is not displaying, happens mostly when opening a game but also sometimes for no reason in particular.

DDU’d the drivers and reinstalled still no. Went to a previous driver, updated all relevant firmware and bios. I have reseated the GPU as well

Nothing was changed to cause this. It worked fine for months all of a sudden problems

I’m down to try anything

Steam download speeds started acting up

My steam download speeds became super slow when I tried downloading something today. Usually I get 100+ mbps but right now I have 40-50 mbps. I have checked my wifi and it is running faster than normal at the current moment. I have no idea what to do as I have done most of the basic stuff (changed dns setting, download server, cleared download cache, etc.). Can anyone help me?

PC Turns Black Screen then Shuts Down

Hi I was wondering if anybody had any advice for this situation. When I am playing The Finals my computer will randomly turn to a black screen where nothing is available (pressing all of the keys does nothing) and will eventually shut down. It is clear that the computer isn’t losing power since the keyboard lights stay on during this black screen. Any advice to solve this issue would be great!

PC completely freezes from static electricity

Basically my issue is that whenever I generate static electricity by walking in my room or standing up from my chair my PC will completely freeze forcing me to do a manual restart. I am quite sure the freeze is caused by static electricity since it happens rarely when the weather is humid and so forth. I have tried a lot of things but still haven't come to a solution. What i have tried:

  • Checked all PSU cables and also swapped them
  • Re-inserted every component
  • Changed power cables
  • Checked power outlets and tried other outlets

And more.

The issue is not bound by whatever workload I am doing on the PC. Futhermore touching the case or trying to shake the PC does not do anything so it isn't a loose connection. So the only conclusion I have come to is that some component in my PC, maybe the PSU is grounded correctly or something. I am not really an expert in that department so I am not quite sure. I would just change the part that is not working properly out if I knew which part it is but I don't have spare parts laying around and I don't just want to go change parts spending a lot of money without knowing exactly what part I have to change. Lastly this issue have persisted for a couple years now. None my components are acting up though and I have never gotten any hardware error or had cooling issues.

I appreciate any help and hope someone has a solution for me :)

PC requires restart to detect Graphics Card

Hi, I built my PC a few months ago and apart from an early issue everything has worked perfectly but recently my Graphics Card has had an issue. When I boot my PC I have to plug my hdmi into my motherboard to see a display then restart my PC so it detects my Graphics Card then I switch the hdmi back into my Graphics Card. It's more inconvenient than anything else but would like to know how to fix just in case of future problems cheers.

Thermalright Assassin 120 SE CPU Cooler

Corsair 32GB DDR5 RAM

GeForce 4070

Steam download speed high, but write speed super low.

Hi guys, I was downloading game from Steam, my internet speed is around 100~130 mbps.

In steam, it shows download speed 110 mbps and write speed 100 mbps.

But when I check the task manager, write speed only around 20 mbps. (download speed is ok, around 100mbps)

I thought is my SSD has some issues. I tested it with Crystalmark. My write speed is around 7000 mbps.
How can I fix this? Thanks guys.

Friend buying a new pre-built PC

Hello,

I have a friend who is buying a new pre-built PC for her son and is looking for advice. I built my PC a few years back and even back them mostly just searched up some popular/well rated parts and used those.
Would like some advice from folks who are actually in the know about whats good. (And yes I know building is better but my friend isnt willing to give it a go). Her son will be playing games like Fortnite and similar so as per google should need GPU more than CPU.

The way I look at the parts of the PC she is looking to buy:

CPU: Seems to be decent but not super clear exactly which model it will have, but will likely be good enough for gaming unless running something really CPU intensive.

GPU: Few years old but seemed to have good reviews when it came out so will likely be good enough for stuff like fortnite unless played at like 4k resolution (but from what I understand if you want to do that be ready to spend like 2k on your PC).

SSD: 500 gigs should be fine unless downloading (and wanting to keep around) multiple 100gig+ games.

RAM: 16gig is still serviceable though 32 would be better.

PC does not boot into either BIOS or Windows, RAM lights up and GPU fan stops after a few seconds

Hey all,

I recently had to buy a brand new motherboard after a power surge took out both the PSU and motherboard (had a spare PSU lying around) and everything started up fine on a test bench and booted up windows no problem. But after putting it back into my case and ensuring every cable is plugged it, it no longer wants to boot. Even taking it out and sitting it back onto my motherboard doesn't change anything.

I am clueless as to what could be the issue. Resitting the RAM, taking out CMOS and changing between video cables are all I have tried, and to no prevail.

PC specs follow:

Ryzen 5 5600X ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 12GB Stock Cooler (have tested with Corsair h150 360mm, no change) Corsair VENGEANCE® RGB PRO 32GB (2x16) DDR4 3200MHZ Two Samsung M.2 SSDs (one is a boot drive) Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite AX Motherboard MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5

Trouble opening games

Soo I was playing Dead by Daylight earlier normally but after crashing once after I played a game of Apex my PC started having problems.

I can run everything just fine but as soon as I open up any game, I start opening the games on 1fps. I tried running system checks and SSD/HDD checks and everything came out as normal.

Anyone got any advice on what I should do?

Installing chipset drivers.

I have an intel i9 13900k, and an ASUS PRIME Z790-A WIFI mobo. I have googled and googled, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to update my chipset drivers. Do I do it through intel's website, or through ASUS's? What's the difference? I tried through asus for my MOBO but it came with a download folder that had a program, I ran the program and it opens control panel for about 3 seconds and then closes. Intel's website does not directly show any software that is for "updating chipset drivers". Armory core tells me they are outdated (I know armory core sucks) but I also cannot figure out how to check if they are updated in the device manager. Plenty of google results show me how to get there but do not tell me which device to look in the properties of. Please help

should i get 1080p or 1440p

im thinking of getting a new monitor but i dont know wether to get 240hz on 1080p or 240hz on 1440p. my pc isnt the best (rx 6700xt, r7 5800x, 16ram, ssd) so i dont know if id be able to get the most out of 1440p. I usually prefer fps over quality so if 1440p drops too much frames maybe i wont use it, the question is if it does drop frames? or not so much? Also, how much of a visual difference does the increase in resolution really make, is it noticeable? Also the 1440p are a lot more expensive. I just thought id get opinions from people before buying. I currently have 1080p 144hz.
