I made a Blender rendering service. Giving away free renders for feedback and testing.

Hi all. I'm a long tim Blender user and developer and I've made a cloud rendering service for Cycles. It's super cheap and hopefully really helpful for the community. I'm giving away free renders in order to get feedback. Give it a go and let me know what you think.

Sorry if this is considering spam. I'm just looking for feedback and testing from the community. :)

"New Things" Edit 3

Muppet guy now has the ability to print stuff with dot-matrix technology. But I'm sure there's more to see whenever there is the next upgrade.

"New Things" Edit 2

Changes:

-Added Muppet Man.

-Tried (and failed) to add rimlight.

-Optimized render settings a bit more.

-Unintentionally moved the camera until it was too late to change it back.

Image of Scene as of right now

###Please note that you probably will require the latest Bleeding Edge build of Blender, as the changes I've made are based on the newly added Principled BRDF.

New things!

So, let's try to start things up again, I know that u/pauljs75 just put up a revision to the first blend that started getting passed around; but I had just finished it, and as he pointed out why not have multiple blend passings all going on simultaneously. So without further ado...

I'm assuming this is a dead subreddit?

I read the sidebar, (first time here) it sounds really neat and I kind of want to fiddle around with this idea; but when I looked back through all the newest posts it looks like the last time this subreddit was functioning as intended was a full year ago. If I put something up here would anyone else be willing to "pass the blend"?

Class assignment is literally to pass the blend: all edits appreciated!

Hey /r/passtheblend!

tl;dr: Class project: share an object online and see how people change it. Found the perfect sub for this!

file: http://pasteall.org/blend/index.php?id=44193

I'm in a class about digital objects, and for our lastest project we're exploring the social/connected capacity of digital representations of real things. That is to say, the way you can scan some 3D object, share it instantly, and someone on the other side of the world can download it, ascribe a completley different meaning/use to it, and modify it freely based on that interpretation of what the object is / could be.

This can be anything, from simply scaling it to turn a small ornament into a piece of furniture, to distorting it or mixing it with other meshes, either for fun or with a specific useful purpose in mind. I was hoping anyone here would have a spare minute to experiment with this object, and maybe share what they come up with!

This object is an artifact from the Johnson Museum at Cornell University let me scan. All the info I know about it is here: http://emuseum.cornell.edu/view/objects/asitem/items$0040:29968

Also, does anyone know other subs/sites where I can post this so more people can see it / modify it? I don't really need anyone to make anything super interesting with it, I just need people to modify it at will.

Thanks!

3D modeling request

Hey guys, we are searching for a 3d modeling artist who is able to help us creating a 3d model of a wifi speaker. This is just a question to find people who are willing to do this. Details would be provided later by us. Thank you fellow redditors!

"Get it rolling" edit 5

First contribution to something on here. Fairly happy with the end result.

  • Added a low poly cannon to the car model

  • Textured the cannon

  • Refined render settings slightly

Get it rolling - edit 3

  • Dunno what happened to edit 2 (link same as for 1), tried to be faithful in doing same things.
  • Added some edge loop poop, hopefully not going too crazy.
  • Wheels now dupe objects, so can be edited all at once.
  • Some basic blender mats and lighting. Yey!

What are good, small projects to re-inspire a beginner?

So I had the inspiration of making a chess set when I started with Blender a few months ago, but once that was done, I think I aimed too high and tried to do things beyond my skill level, and got discouraged. I want to get back into things.

What are smaller, fun projects you recommend?

I just added a bit of color to make it look a bit more like a trainer.

I have a 360 animation coming soon. As soon as the render finishes.
