as the title says. for a few days now i get a black screen instead of the youtube ads for 30-45 seconds depending on the video.

do you guys have any idea how to fix this? its basically the only reason why i use opera.

if i would use another browser i could at least skip the ads after a few seconds, so atm opera is a downgrade.

I'm looking for Mobile extension, for Opera Browser, for get rid of cookies (such as 'I don't care about cookies'). Is that exists for Android?

I recently reformatted my PC, and since then I've tried using both Opera GX and Opera Browser, and with both, when I try to log in to synchronise my data, I am unable to log in. It takes me to a Google Login Page, and when I enter my information to log in, I am repeatedly met with the message, "The Google account is already linked with an Opera Account".

I'm not trying to make a new account, I'm trying to log in with an already existing account. Am I a complete idiot and am missing something? Some help would be massively appreciated!

96.9% CPU usage. ONE tab was open.

The amount of problems I've been having with Opera GX's memory and CPU usage are insane. Isn't their entire marketing based off of "how well they can reduce memory/cpu usage"? They've literally talked so much shit about chrome taking up too much memory and how Opera GX is better in that sense, but there is not a single moment where Opera was using less memory than my Chrome with more tabs.

I've been digging the web to find a way to install opera extension by command line (on windows machine). It seems Opera had a way a few years ago but not anymore.

The things is :
if i do "start-process https://addons.opera.com/extensions/download/lastpass/"
Opera tells me that : The extension was disabled because it is from an unknown source. Go to the extensions manager to enable it.

Is there away to auto accept it/activate it. Or is there any other way to do it?

Everytime I type the word 'Hot' into my URL bar, Opera suggests/autocompletes to Hotels. It only recently began to do this, I can't find any setting to disable it, the website isn't on my Speed Dial or anything. Can anyone help me get rid of this?

It's a very frequent problem since I use Outlook for email, and have been for years - so I'm used to just typing "hot" for Hotmail.

Opera isn't a very good experience for twitch. None of these issues exists in other browser i am using/tested.

1. You open a stream and get a playback error, you have to reload the page, sometimes multiple times to get it to play.
2. Video plays for 5/7 secs, then pauses for 2 second, then plays that 2 second back really fast. Rinse and repeat. You can sometimes fix it by reloading page.
3. Can't play streams using newer codecs, hevc, 265 or what else people are trying out atm. Opera is then an unsupported browser and can't play those streams, unless you choose 720p or below. Works fine in Firefox.

I can hear the music and sound effects but the voices of the people arent working? does anyone know how to fix this?

so it's happened a few times before, but its recently its getting worse. i opened (didnt startup, i left it open for the night) opera today and it froze immedeatly. the only way to solve this is to restart, but do any of y'all know the underlying cause and what to do about it? it usually happens out of nowhere when there are no problems, and than BAM freeze.

So, I've been using Chrome on an Android device for a long time. The Discover feature curates a list of articles for me to read based on my browsing history. These are generally not "news" articles or at least don't fall into normal categories like "food," "fashion," and "enterainment." I've had no luck reproducing this using category based news feed aggregators.

Is there any way to install any sort of app or extension that would allow me to grab a similarly curated list of articles which automatically open in Opera, so I can use the reading mode feature?

The websites that I most commonly read are all science or tech, but I only read a small selection of the articles from any given site, so just adding a bunch of websites and filtering them manually isn't what I want.

So, I lost basically everything on my pc except for stuff on external hard drives bc I had to wipe my pc bc it had a bug where it wouldn't let me log into my pc and I couldn't do a repair startup thing bc it wouldn't accept my password even tho I am 100% sure it was correct, and bc of that, I couldn't backup my bookmarks, mainly bc I didn't know that was a thing you had to do with opera gx and I kind of hate it, but also I couldn't have even if I knew bc I couldn't get into my pc to even attempt to do that, but now I can't get my bookmarks and the only options for recovering bookmarks that I'm finding are things that assume that you didn't wipe your pc. which I did. and now idk what to do to get my book marks back

I’m having trouble with the auto translate feature in Opera GX. I used to get the Google Translate button automatically on other browsers like Chrome whenever I visit a page in a foreign language, but I don’t see this option in Opera GX.

I recently visited a Chinese article and was hoping to translate it to English automatically. However, the page doesn't offer any translation options, and I can’t figure out how to enable this in Opera GX.

I’ve checked the settings but didn’t find anything related to automatic translation. I also tried installing the Google Translate extension, but it didn’t seem to trigger the translation either.

Has anyone else faced this issue or can point me to the right solution? Any help would be much appreciated!

every day at exactly 12:00 a couple of tabs open with "yssydOCA-271,98" and every couple hours cmd prompt randomly opens and then immediatley closes, where on my browser it opens a site called highcpmgate

edit: ive gotten a random driver download in my browser, I might just delete opera and get a different browser see if it changes

Any way to keep the Discord on the sidebar from disconnecting my calls? Every time I use the sidebar Discord to call someone it kicks me from the call in a couple of minutes. Then when I get back into Discord, it's the regular loading page, like it snoozed the page, which forced me off the call.

Opera feels worse than internet explorer with 87 different widget-plugins from 2002.
I just want a effin browser. Should I just go to firefox and forget about this piece of trash?
Its been worse and worse for a couple of years now but last year the ammount of bullshit and poor performance and constant crashes to the point of them needing a different GX browser so you can customise the amount of bullshit you have is insane.

So, recently my Opera is refusing to launch from the usual shortcut in my taskbar, the one connected to opera.exe in the installation folder. It can only be opened from the designated folder of the current version (named 115.0.5322.68), which is also part of the main directory, and also has an opera.exe file. When I try to pin that file to taskbar, so I can use that instead, it opens side by side, like they're not the same. I've even tried deleting the one from the main and copying the one from version to main, and it still opened a separate browser window, not the one I clicked on. Hope I explained well enough.. I deleted cookies and cache already. Any ideas how to fix?

So ive been using Safari since i got my mac back in 2012 and the darn mini desktop has served me very well with just the obvious maintenance parts like hard drive replacement which it did back in october this year. So since its an old model i obv cannot install the new security features from safari bcuz theres non available anymore . Apple moved on to new versions now. So, i thought i finally found my new frsh looking browser afer going thru the whole internet looking . Ended up on Opera. (Not Gx). And the thing its been pretty good on my system , no memory issues at all, everything was perfect. So there goes Opera and upgrade to mac OS 11 and up. And left old macs with no chance to get older opera version to download. All frekin browsers are doing the same thing. ANd i know thats not their problem since im the one stayin behind with old mac . But my thing is it looks like nowadays companies are more pushin customers to get the latest tech in order to use their software , like tryna say like; "hey, bcuz we dont care about your old devices and we kinda lazy to work on bugs for old systems..fk yall!" For real 😂. Well what can i do..Go back to my old safari and try not to use personal information there🤷🏻

Update:P alright i just found the previous versions available for download. The question is even if the app itself wont receive more updates , does the security side of things will? Idk , guess sit tight and see.

Is there any way to disable the fast search for yahoo? is really annoying because i used to just type Y + enter to open youtube and now it appears as yahoo search

I've never made a mod before, so I've just been experimenting as I go. I've stumbled my way into having a somewhat-working mod, but mostly by accident.

When I look at my mod page on the GX Store, it says there's a mobile version, even though I've never added anything even remotely mobile to the JSON file. I have a background that I'd prefer to put as the mobile background, as the desktop background doesn't really work as mobile, but I don't know how to write it into the JSON file as a background ONLY for mobile and have this other background ONLY for desktop. I know absolutely nothing about coding, so hopefully someone smarter can tell me what to do.

Edit: I’m probably explaining it poorly, so I took screenshots. Ideally, I’d love to keep the desktop background as it is, but have a different background for mobile (because this picture doesn’t work as a mobile background), but I don’t know how to do that, since I’ve never actually made a mod before. Is there some way to code something different for the mobile mod without changing the desktop mod?

Hi there!

I hope I'm not the only one, so I can get some help... :)

In the last weeks, can't pinpoint exactly when it started, my Opera browser started to crash and restart when I was on the Facebook. Also it started to give me a lot of out of memory in the Facebook tab.

I do have many tabs opened, but I had this since forever and never got issues. Also, my Opera is always op to date, I didn't install any new extensions. This behavior started somehow out of the blue.

Any advice on how to fix this? Thanks :)
