“Hi, I’m an expat resident in Oman planning to travel with my car to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain at the end of this month. My Omani vehicle insurance is about to expire this week. Should I renew it with GCC coverage included, or is it better to buy temporary insurance for each country at the borders? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated!”
Hello guys . I am studying general engineering now but next year I will have to choose which engineering field I would be majoring . What would you recommend considering the job market here in Oman ?
PS: Many people said that I should follow my passion in choosing but after I read about all the fields still can confirm it . Thank you.

Recently, there has been new rules for traveling to Dubai specifically traveling via air on which visas and hotels book via travel agency. Reference: https://visaguide.world/news/dubai-tightens-requirements-for-tourist-visas-proof-of-accommodation-return-ticket-now-required/
I can understand that they are trying to avoid people from overstaying. And also this is mainly for tourist traveling not based in GCC.
How about for those wo wants to travel to Dubai with GCC residency? I cannot find any helpful resources about it? Tried asking from a travel agency, it is also not clear with them with the new rules.
Does anyone recent travel via land? Did you have your visas and hotel bookings via travel agency?
How would one go about getting from Nizwa Souq to Muscat ?
Why do Khaleejis always take photos of themselves at the gym or in their cars and put it Snapchat?
Hello everyone,
I am traveling to Muscat in a few days and am still uncertain if I need to apply for a tourist visa if I hold a US passport. I've searched this subreddit and it seems like there is conflicting information on if I need to apply for one beforehand.
I will be visiting for 7 days so according to the https://evisa.rop.gov.om website it says I need the 26A tourist visa. Others have said its not needed if staying less than 14 days. Any clarification would be appreciated.
Good time everyone,
Looking for a professional python programmer, i had an idea required building a windows application interacting with another apps. I prefer to meet the programmer for better understanding. Dm me please, appreciate it 🫡
Hello guys, iam looking to buy a used sedan, and i have been seeing a lot of malibu 2018,2019,2020. Is the car reliable, and how is the maintenance of it. Do you guys recommend it or should just get a nissan altima 2017
I think an omani man is stalking me. I’m an expat, I saw him earlier this week in a shopping center and he was following me around and was trying to talk to me but I didn’t give him any attention. Today, I went to a completely different shopping center (a bit close to the first one) and found him there! He wasn’t there to buy anything, he was just following me everywhere I go. He didn’t try to talk to me this time because I wasn’t alone, but he was looking at me all the time. Do you think this could be a coincidence? Or should I be concerned?
Hey guys!
I am staying in Oman for the next few days and I wanted to ask if any of you know if there are any futsal games to attend this weekend? With a Google search I can see, that there is some kind of futsal league, but it's hard to find any information in English. I am from Latvia and came here for the SOCCA World Cup, but since we didn't get out of the group, we have a lot of free time.
Thank you so much! Beautiful country btw. ☀️

I'm 19 and I want to start working as freelancer on upwork...some people mentioned that transaction shouldn't happen within oman.... I already have a paypal account but should I link my Omani credit card to it ?
Can someone explain please? Is there other ways for recieving money or should I just forget about it.
I cannot use the money in app Wallet.. they don’t give (stopped from yesterday ) an option in payment for that… Reason- there is some technical problem.
However, you can still keep on adding money from your account to the wallet..
what???

Hi everyone,
I am a record collector (generally of my heritage: Kurdish, Balkan, Turkish, Armenian, and North African music) and am starting to get into Gulf music. I can find a lot of music produced in most countries, but not Oman. Am I looking in the wrong places?
My thought is that there were probably Omani musicians who traveled to record records. Could you please recommend some Omani musicians from this era, so I could look for their albums or singles? Thank you all so much.
this was my question long long back.
I saw a bunch of oman based instagram pages that sell license keys for a pretty low price. Has anyone tried them?
anyone here got a correction eye surgery? if so where did you get it and would you recommend the same place? also what type of surgery did u get
This sub reddit is filled with chamaks and we need to remove them.
My mother is one of them and no longer has a job all of a sudden. Yesterday almost 120+ staff lost their jobs all of a sudden with immediate effect, and the process is still ongoing today. My mother has worked for the airline for 30 years, and she was treated very badly and told by someone she doesn’t even know that her future with them is over and they do not need her services anymore.
It’s really sad, honestly. I don’t know whether she will get her pension or they can just go on, but I wanted to inform that many families were sad last night, and I don’t see anyone on the internet talking about it
Hello everyone, please suggest me to travel Masira , any travel agent or any suggestions
Hey Redditors,
I recently moved to Oman, and I was wondering if you could help me out with some recommendations for must-have apps for everyday life here.
I’m looking for apps that make life easier—like ones for:
Public transport or navigation
Food delivery
Grocery shopping
Office
Local news
Language translation or learning (if needed)
Anything else you think is super helpful!
Bonus points if you can share any tips or tricks for using these apps effectively.
Thanks in advance!
Hello. Is March a good time to visit Oman, weather-wise? We will also have our toddler with us. Would like to do a couple of nights in Muscat, then a couple of nights in/around Jebel Akhdar, one night in the desert, and then two nights back in Muscat. Thank you :)
Edit to say: it'll be towards the end of March as I'd love us to be there for my husband's birthday
