I currently have a 2022 GWM Haval H6 AWD SUV. It's been an absolutely awesome car but I have been doing a lot more off-road and camping lately, the stock tyres don't seem to have a ton of grip when going up relatively steep gravel roads. It can definitely make it up some steep stuff, especially in off road mode of you apply the power early, but I am wondering if it would be worth fitting some All-terrain tyres or not? Has anyone done this to theirs or a similar car? I don't think there are any A/T tyres that find the standard rim so would probably have to change rims in the process. Would appreciate anyone's input into this. I am only doing gravel roads in the car and moderate terrain, definitely not doing wild stuff that you would need a dedicated 4x4, I know it's not that sort of vehicle but I would like a bit more grip and peace of mind if possible. Thanks!
I dont mean the above literally, I know what they do. I just dont know why you would want to effectively outsource your driving to someone else. Yes its harder and sure you cant see everything outside of your vehicle, but isnt that the point? Isnt the challenge and the fun in doing it yourself?
Hey guys, I own a tacoma and recently was going to cover the headliner with velcro morale patches, but I found most of my patches do not stay up, so... I have developed a different type of material to connect the patches to the headliner without adhesives or Velcro, and I am now looking into creating my own patches using this material to sell. Please let me know if this is a common issue y'all face as well. Also, I only have two designs to start, a cross and American flag, but would love to create more if successful. Any input would be much appreciated.
Not including the rest of his questionable "mods".
Hey guys This is my small rig I use for off-road and holiday (pic is old, now I have a full built rack, lights and stuff).
So yesterday there was a little bit of wind and the heater started to suck in the smoke and yeah it's not funny, luckily I always keep a co monitor with me....
I've seen a couple of rig with the heater on a case and attached on the side like this, but how do you handle smoke?
(Next step is a pelican type case bolted to the roof rack but for now I'm still in beta testing this thing)
I used to be pretty heavily into rally racing a decade ago slowly got into r2 spent way to much money and also have years of off-roading in jeeps and Toyotas and also getting addicted into the SxS craze I spend a lot of time out of country now and a few years ago just bought a used Nissan Altima with basic all seasons I got stuck pulling out of a friends drive way in fresh snow and thought wtf have I become
I’ve always been spoiled by reliability, and as a proud 10th-gen Honda Accord owner, that’s something I’ve come to appreciate. I bought my 2018 Accord as a certified pre-owned vehicle in June 2021 with only 37,000 miles. Now, with 153,000 miles on the odometer, it ironically runs better than when I first drove it off the lot.
I live in Utah and have been considering a more off-road-capable vehicle. As someone who enjoys the outdoors and is a big gun enthusiast, the Ford Bronco stands out to me as the most capable option. I recently test-drove three different 2024 Bronco models and absolutely fell in love with them. I also checked out the newly redesigned 4Runner, but it just didn’t feel right for me, even though I know it offers better reliability.
So, for current Bronco owners—what has your experience been like? What’s gone right, and what issues have you encountered? I’ve read mixed reviews about its reliability, so I’d love to hear firsthand feedback. Thanks in advance!
My daily driver / off-road vehicle is a 2021 Jeep GC Trail hawk. Was doing some routine maintenance the other day, and whew, my engine air filter was filthy!
Just got me thinking, what are some things you notice having to check, clean and/or change more frequently to keep your rigs running well in the long term?
Anyone know of a alu recovery ring that has a bigger hole than the standard chinese/amazon ones?
I'm looking for something I can kick around the Jersey pine barrens, nothing crazy. Under $10k, doesn't have to be comfy or even presentable. As a newcomer to the hobby, what should I be looking for? Any advice is appreciated!
So, I drive an 05 Explorer. It wasn’t my first choice but this one basically fell into my lap and I have learned to love it. My issue is that customization options are extremely limited. (Funny cuz that’s the trim level). Anybody have any suggestions? I’m not looking to turn this thing into a monster truck, as this is also my daily. But I would love to have some performance mods to make it more fun to drive, and let’s be honest, I want it to look cool too.
Any help is appreciated. TIA
