Hi! I'm a high school senior interested in studying nursing and as this is one of my options, I was interested in how the nursing program is, as well as Oakland as a whole compared to other universities in Michigan.
Does anybody have an extra ticket to the Master and Doctoral graduation on December 13th? If you’re not going to use all 4 of your Guaranteed tickets, would you be willing to give me your extras? I’d be willing to pay you for it.
Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone else has applied to the ASD program for Winter 2025? If so, has your portal updated to “decision pending”? When will we receive our decisions?
I am thinking of applying to a Ph.D program at Oakland University. My masters, from a different institution, is in the same field of study. Would I be able to transfer masters credits to count toward my Ph.D? If so, must the credits have been earned in a certain window of time from when I begin my Ph.D studies?
Is there any study areas that anyone knows of that are more private than just the study rooms? Trying to practice for the abdominal and chest validation in Health Assessment
what is hill house? i was told people dont live there but it looks like its in use to an extent. im just curious what goes on in there.

Hello! I wanted ask here just in case but I've been looking into getting a personal tutor for my accounting 2000 class. Its not clicking for me, but I feel like I'm so close to understanding. I tried going to the tutoring on campus and found that I really didn't know what to ask there and figured a one on one thing would be better to go over the chapter. If anyone offers anything or knows someone who would offer I'd love the help!
The past month I’ve missed a handful of classes due my Aunt being in the hospital and she ended up passing away this week. With this I unfortunately didn’t do great on exams since I missed a bit of important content and didn’t catch up on time. When I emailed my advisor they just directed me towards the Request for Exception form but I don’t know if I would qualify since my Aunt isn’t an immediate family member. I don’t know how to provide documentation of her death either other than her obituary. She also has a different last name than me so I also don’t know how to prove I’m related to her. Any guidance or advice is appreciated…
Ive done this crap 4 times already because its required but i honestly dont feel like doing it again. So what happens if i simply dont do it? Am i going to get kicked out?
Who is the person that walks through the OC every weekend and yells/makes groaning noises? Is he ok? Is he a student here? I was going to say hi but he doesn’t stop yelling.
Loneliness is a brutal experience, and difficult to endure on top of the expectations during the academic year. I am the Founder of a social impact company focused on giving YOU a voice. Loneliness is an experience I've endured and fought my whole life and I have a deep rooted passion to bring peace to those suffering. I look forward to sharing my story, and hearing yours....
At this time, I am currently conducting research on the 18-25 age, college student demographic, and I'm looking for people interested in participating in answering some questions over zoom. Yes with cameras on ;). I would GREATLY appreciate anyone interested in participating. Your feedback will make a huge impact in what will make a difference in the loneliness narrative. I look forward to talking to you and hearing your stories!
I've recently just done a room reassignment on 9/23. And I've not been placed in a new room yet nor have I gotten any notifications about my reassignment request. If anyone who has done this process could tell me when I'd most likely hear back and get a new room.
so my professor caught me cheating. She told me that she was going to give me a zero on the exam and send my case to the dean. This is my first offense. Can anyone tell me what would happen next?
I was at the Orena the other day and I saw a buncha kids eating hotdogs anyone know where tf you get them at???? There is none at the hive
although English isn't my first language, i am fluent in it as i moved here when i was around 2 years. but the oakland university admission portal sent me an email saying
We are still missing:
Permanent Residency Card (a.k.a. Green Card)
English Language Proficiency
I uploaded my green card, but do i have to submit my English language proficiency test? whatever that is?
can someone please tell me if there’s like some secret job listing i’m not aware of because i’ve been all over handshake since JULY and only 1 of my 15 applications have been “reviewed” but my roommates both immediately got jobs on campus. am i doing something wrong?
how does the nursing program work?
Are you supposed to spend your first year in OCC(oakland community college) doing the prereqs and then applying to the nursing program? or spend the first 2 years doing the pre-reqs for OU's nursing program and then apply to nursing school? also, how is Oakland university's nursing program only 3 years compared to other nursing programs? like does that mean you finish both your pre reqs and nursing school in 3 years instead of 4 years?
On multiple occasions I have been harassed by anti-abortion protestors on campus even when I am actively keeping my eyes low and ignoring them. Today I was physically harassed by a male protestor who cornered me and shoved a pamphlet in my face while my friend yelled “no thank you, no thank you” to which he continued to assert himself into my space and question me about my thoughts on abortion. I was late to class and visibly in a rush, yet he continued to block me and get closer to me. Do any of you guys know who I can report this to? I’ve been living on campus for a month and have already been harassed by protestors on two separate occasions.
I know obviously that it’s free speech and all that, I just want to be able to feel comfortable going to class or my dorm without a man getting in my face and throwing pamphlets at me. I specify men because as a woman (who is on the shorter side) and a survivor of SA, I get extremely nervous and uncomfortable when men approach me in such an aggressive way. Can I report them for harassment? Maybe have the board crack down on them a little bit so I can feel safer on campus? All answers welcome! Thanks! :D

I’ve been doing taekwondo and some other martial arts stuff for almost a decade now and a few weeks ago I heard about a karate club here in campus. Anyone know if it’s still a thing? I’ve looked and asked all over but have gotten next to nothing
I figured I'd throw this in here just in case, but I found a tote bag laying by a tree next to the entrance to the O'rena while on a walk. I was initially gonna leave it but I decided to see if I could find any ID in it. All I found was a science notebook and the name "Emme" written on it. I'm gonna drop it off at the O'rena staff tomorrow morning.
Is there any place on campus to get food on the weekends?
I'm also currently closeted about it to my christian family so I've been keeping it on the down-low so far, but I could really use the company
Back in 2018, I got accepted into OU with a full ride. However, I was incredibly depressed and otherwise mentally ill at the time and ended up failing, a year and a half in. I had, in total, 53 credits.
In 2020, I joined the military. As such, I get free tuition from the GI Bill.
Do you think OU would allow me to attend again?
Hello!
I am currently a high school student who is about to apply for college. I'm stuck between oakland and Wayne. I want to go the premed route and was wondering which one I should choose.
Oakland is closer to my area. It is around a 25 minutes while wayne is around 45 minutes. The tuition cost is very important because I want to avoid loans for now.
I'm not doing dorms for none of these college. Please give me advice!
When do you get your room?? Submitted my contract last night so just wondering how long does it take since the semester starts Wednesday.
Luckily I am a prospective student so I'll just go somewhere else but I feel bad for anyone that was going into the program.
