I'm in town for 5 days and would love to see works by Helen Frankenthaler.
The Frankenthaler Foundation doesn't list any local shows. The Public Collections page lists several places, for example Brooklyn Museum. But I don't understand if any of the works are on display. Brooklyn museum has no exhibitions of her work but many in the public collections. Can someone help me understand where I might see her work?
Thanks!
I try to focus on exhibitions that don't already get a lot of media attention. Hope you give it a read: https://counterservicenyc.substack.com/
So proud of my dad showing his artwork!

Hi NYC community!
I am planning a trip to NYC/ have been planning this trip since working as a full-time Artist & Designer.
I'm making the trip to experience the culture that inspires my own artistic practices, to network and introduce myself in the creative scene - Ideally focusing my attention on meeting people at local markets and events/ even booking a stall to showcase my artistic work; unique fashion items, prints, music & record creative content on my visit.
I have a week stay in NYC with some family friends, and from then on I would be looking for the most cost effective options available so I can spend my days visiting local venues & getting inspired by the community of the city.
I am aware the working visa does not quite take into account the aspect of selling at local markets so I have not confirmed whether selling my designed items will be viable for me or not (But if you find me in the city best assume I have a print of an original painting to give out or a spare items from my clothing brand)
If you could please advise me on what options there may be for living/ intermittent stay to keep expendages low while I do my best to work my way across the city that would be great!
I'm talkin' affordable living situations - best spots for a nutritious meal - must visit local venues (please reach out to me if you are a creative and might want to meet in person on my visit I would love to meet EVERYONE!)
Feel free to ask me more questions about my trip or me and my art practice.
Very excited to experience life outside of Australia, and show you what how HipHop has inspired my artistic practice all the way down here in Aus.

I want to make quick paintings and I want to incorporate oil/ Pigment sticks. Will it be fine if I mix acrylic paint with those sticks above?
Hi there! I’m looking into beginner water color classes in Manhattan. Any recommendations? Thank you!
Hello beautiful people- we have an exciting red carpet premiere and debut fashion show of our new collection in Brooklyn New York July 11th!
It’s an exciting program with a killer after party, guest-list, cast, and crew but more than anything- it is a project born out of the sheer will of a lot of women POC filmmakers that came on to bring this euphoria-aesthetic, brown-girl-coming-of-age fashion film to life. All the money from tickets go straight into film festival applications and the event itself (we’re going all out).
I promise easily one of the most fun and unique events you’ll go to this summer! Bring your friends, dress in bedazzled-black-tie and party w us<33
I’ve been in NYC for almost two years and still haven’t discovered art groups or places to meet other artist. Any ideas welcomed
I am mostly a painter who wants to learn more about sculpture. Like mold and plaster casting. I don't know much. Are there any classes that you would recommend? I would like to make small objects with color in it. How should I begin?
