A community for NSFW game developers, programmers, writers, artists, and all manner of enthusiasts to get together to discuss their work, collaborate, and generally discuss.
r/nsfwdev is a community for NSFW game developers, programmers, writers, artists, and all manner of enthusiasts to get together to discuss their work and collaborate.
NSFW game developers typically use existing game engines and game creation tools such as RPGMaker (for JRPG-type games), Twine (for interactive text fiction), Game Maker (primarily for 2D game development), Unity (primarily for 3D game development), and a bunch of others.
You do not need to be a developer if you want to work on creating NSFW games. Game development teams often have writers, musicians, artists, and designers amongst other roles. You probably have a place here if you have ever decided you wanted to make something pervy and interactive.
Stylesheet is Structura.

Was there any specific event, thought, conversation, etc., that made you take the leap into nsfw dev?
Not sure if this is allowed, so please remove if not - but I have a space in my games for highlighting other projects.
*note, low res for sharing sake*
Ideally, I'd like to fill the space with projects - possibly yours.
First things first, I'm not looking for cross-promo. It's nice if you're interested in that but my main goal is to expose players to games that may be overlooked or are just enjoyable and well-done.
I have 2 categories - Featured and Favorites.
If you'd like to discuss, feel free to leave a comment here or chat message me.
For those of us not blessed with deep pockets or secret benefactors - how much of your profit do you use to improve your project?
I don't have a strict budget at the moment, but I'm creating one.
What about you? As a nsfw developer do you invest in your own project?
Do you feel that it helps you grow or become a better developer? I read somewhere that the enemy of creativity is limitation.
Does your budget stop you from doing what you actually like or do you ignore all of that and just create?
I am planning on using Blender and Godot game engine. I am good at programming and relatively new to blender, but I feel good enough to make an attempt at making a game.
So like in the title: What should I look up on the internet to learn how to hide the penis during animations?
The effect I'd be satisfied with would be something alike what valve once did in cs:go, so people's models stopped being visible through closed doors. Like they were being clipped by a plain or something like this.
I imagine that it would be possible to hide such a plane inside of the taker character in the scene, and clip the rod, so it doesn't glitch through out the mesh of the love recipient.
I would rather avoid making tricky animations to somehow twist the rod in such a way, it always would be inside of the other character model.
Also this will be a game, where the scenes could be pretty generic, by what I mean, I have character creation, many shape keys, different heights for characters and such.
Alternatively, where can I go with my question?
Anyway, thank you all for any bit of help.
Have a nice day/ good night!

Please follow up with me on twitter if interested [not on reddit often]
Though, it might be controversial so feel free to delete if so.
But, why do people judge whether something is "good" based solely on factors that have very little to do with it's quality?
Is it a psychological thing or is there something deeper?
I personally don't think that way, so I find it difficult to wrap my brain around the concept.
I understand Twitch has been very clear now about not allowing porn games, even censored ones, but people keep asking about it, so I want to try my best to make sure if they want to stream, they can probably get away with it. And at the very least, Youtube hasn't made their rules quite as concrete.
That being said, I don't know how far I should go with the censorship, because I'll also have the censored version of the game available for free, and I want people to at least understand what's happening so they can still get some enjoyment from it. Here's a bluesky post I made with some examples (hope that's allowed).
I could always make a second, more heavily censored version, but I'm interested to hear people's thoughts and experiences, and if anyone has any advice out there.
edit: here's an easier link, forgot I could just make a post on my own account
I'm making a nsfw game based on the League of Legends concept, but I'm not sure if using some Riot images will cause me any trouble.
Howdy yall, I know most AVN devs use Daz or HS for their renders but I was hoping to talk workflow with someone that renders in Unreal and then puts the AVN together in Renpy. The latter half of that I'm pretty good on but the unreal workflows I have a few questions about.
Life hit me with a monkey paw's wish and I have essentially unlimited amounts of time, but I'm semi bed bound with brain damage to boot. So there is a $0 budget to work with but a Greek curse worth of time to spend on it instead. Lol
I've spent the last month focusing on blender and Zbrush, practicing stuff like hair and generating pores in blender + some vertex group stuff to do with both of those. Then with Zbrush working on making eye's with anatomical features. I think I've got a good base template for that made now just need to work on the iris designs more but may work on other things like lips in here eventually as well.
But the overall plan is to start with Daz and build out the base shapes of my characters there before exporting them to blender to swap out some parts like the eye's and add detail and imperfections where I can. Then bake all the new files I'll need for Unreal with the changes. The type of story I'm doing won't require alot of characters, like 6-8 tops, and no background characters as it'll all take place in a wilderness setting.
But I have a couple of big questions when it comes to Unreal, specifically around level management and blender conflicts. I know that not everything I can do inside blender will carry over to unreal, some things like weighting and deformations I believe would need to be setup again in Unreal. So I guess there I'm trying to get a better understanding of where those two don't play nice so I don't end up repeating work in both places.
The level management questions boil down to create small scenes vs build out entire mountain range, my guess is a bit of both would end up working best. Build the entire area with low detail for making backing shots to sit behind a small scene dressed with some higher detail and foreground stuff to sell the depth/realism. But this part is probably what I'm sketchiest on and have had the hardest time researching so any insight here would be greatly appreciated!
I know midjourney/recraft/leonardo.ai/others prohibit or limit NSFW content.
But in theory, you can use comyUI + pony model (for anime) and maybe others to generate something.
I wonder if people tried that and did manage to use as part of their artwork. Please share your opinion, because i see mainstream gaming moving in the direction of using genAi a lot (there are fewer consistency issues, there is the ability to fine-tune models on your own datasets, etc).
Please share opinions, i am really curious if this is there the market will eventually go.
This is basically a discussion about what the title says. Avid nsfw game dev/player and I’m wondering other thoughts are in stakes and choices when it comes to harem VNs. Is it enough to simply have a choice for each girl and maybe some stat requirements related to choice. Or does having the ability to choose everything remove the appeal of choosing anything?
Would you rather harem games use a different set up or gameplay system besides VN to create an interesting game without significant player choice?
Hi ppl,
I'm looking for recommendations and experiences using pay ads to promote NSFW games. I'm making my third NSFW game, and after the two first games didn't get released by the publisher after completion I'm going for the route of self-publishing. That's why I'm looking for advice regarding marketing. Specifically pay ads.
I have some knowledge, thanks to my work on the (SFW game) industry, on what to expect, more or less, from an ad campaign, but I've zero information on ad platforms beyond the more popular ones, like Meta, Twitter, etc. Is there an NSFW network of ads that's actually good? have you ever pay for ads for your NSFW project? what alternatives to organic growth there's for adult content?
Any tip, experience, or info., whatsoever, is MORE than welcome. This is the part I've least experience in, regarding game dev. )8
Thanks!
Hello everyone. Sorry if I'm writing something weird, but I'm not an English speaker. Right now a friend and I have released 2 games on itchio for sale. The first one has been well received and the second one has just launched and has a slightly lower sales rate, but it sells. Our problem is finding in-depth opinions of the title.
That is to say, we have some brief opinions that tell us “It's great!”, “I really liked the characters” or “The game is a bit short”, but it doesn't help us to know what to improve in the next titles. Are there any analysts willing to try it? I could offer a free key if I have the commitment from those who offer to receive a decent review. It's true that I'm also afraid of receiving a destructive review, but we have to be a bit cold and methodical to know if our games are good or not.
PS. I haven't put the title of the game because I think it could be SPAM and I don't want to break the rules.
I've spent months working on a game and I just published the first part, but now I'm shitting myself.
I didn't think I'd get nervous about releasing it, but until I hear any feedback, it's equally the best thing since sliced bread, and the shittest game ever made.
Will people like it, hate it, think it's mid? I have no idea.
So, how do you cope with this weird limbo of waiting to find out if your games a steaming pile of dog shit or not?
Hi, everyone
I wanted to know how would you implement ads that look like content in my page in react, nextjs, exoclick provides all thier ads support in html, is there alternative?
So as the title says, I'm making an NSFWRPG. For the choice of game engine, I'm choosing to go with RPG Maker MZ (If I commit fully to using said game engine, I'll be doing everything I can to make it not feel like an RPG Maker game with plugins and such).
My goal, however, is to make a game with NSFW elements in it, not a strictly speaking NSFW game. I plan on adding an option to disable NSFW in it if people just want the gameplay. I'm aiming to make a good NSFW game (not just another visual novel, puzzle, or barebones RPG. I'm an artist and music composer, so the assets won't be a big issue) that has lots of content for people to enjoy
What I'm mainly wondering, however, is despite it going to have more of a focus on gameplay, how much should NSFW scenes and such be spaced out? What things should I add for player convenience? What would be good nsfw rpgs to look at for inspiration? And any general advice I should know?
If it's any help, it's a game where humans and monster girls (and boys) coexist, and you play as a demon princess, haughty, rude, uncaring for those around her. Due to this, the current Demon Lord banishes her to Earth, and she can't come back until she's gotten approval from the various guardians there that she'd be a good ruler.
What's everyone's favorite software for 2d animating? I've just been hand drawing everything with clip studio paint but I've been thinking of going with blender but man is it a whole lot of program.
TLDR: I don't know how or where to market my game where you work in a bath house. Any advice or mental support is appreciated.
I am building on a game where you work in a bath house and have to wash a range of clients from general humanoids to brutal warriors and spirits. Washing them includes hosing them off with a variety of "hoses" (like power washers) and scrubbing out their crevasse with scrub brushes and sponges. Down the road I hope to add more management tools for actually running/operating the business side of the bath house.
I've done marketing before for games but am not the best at it, ex: posting pictures, gameplay footage, trailers, running ads, best I get is a few hundred views lots of positive comments, but nothing ever converts to actual players or even free downloads. (This account is strictly for this game not my other work.)
I don't really know how to market this game at all right now though. While it does have nudity (you can remove clothing from your clients, or leave it on if you want something SFW), and some sexualized content like spraying certain clients in the ass makes them bend over and moan, and you can earn sexualized graphic art, there is no like actual hardcore sex. I wanted to post it on ff95zone but I don't think it will do well or even be accepted, am I wrong? I don't know where else to post it other than the occasional reddit/TikTok/twitter post. The original idea for the game got a really great reception on reddit, but now I am hitting a wall at how to get it out there. I do have a playable demo ready, but I worry it's too early to share it. And if I do share it, where? My plan was Itch to start off but every time I share a game on Itch (this will be the 4th) it only gets like 3 views and a positive review that's most likely from a bot.
Do I just keep at it? Am I missing a crucial step or "must-do" thing? Should I try ff95zone? I'm really lost on this and any advice will mean a lot.

Working on a NSFW Twine RPG and was wondering if any of you guys have any advice for a newbie. Like should I try and find an artist to draw the spicy bits because me ability to draw in Paint is horrible? Or if the RPG is strong enough do you think I should just focus on the gameplay and world?
How soon should I start marketing? How to do that when I get around to it. Should I get to work on setting up a Patreon before my first public play test? Any and all help welcome.
I’m trying to find art assets for my game— character art, CGs, etc. unfortunately I’m also developing this on a shoestring so I wouldn’t be able to commission an artist until sales start coming in. I also believe artists should be compensated for their work, and credited fairly. I can find body bases and generic sprite asset packs on itch. However, they’re a little random, and the game suffers from ‘salad bar’ syndrome.
I want to have a good, consistent look for the characters. I don’t want to use AI because of the ethical implications. I’m also not the greatest artist, so drawing my own art is less desirable. Are there artists who would be willing to delay payment until the game starts selling? How would I negotiate a deal like that? Are there free resources I’m overlooking?
Hi, does anybody know a way how to make a performance friendly cum particle system or fluid? I've been stuck at this question for quiet a while and I haven't moved anywhere.
For some reasons unclear to me, i suddenly have the idea of making an android game. All the ones i have played are AVNs (think milfy city, summertime saga). I definitely want my game to be received well. Assuming that it is, how transferrable is a renpy game to ios and pc (windows?). I have been recommended to use renpy as a good entry point for avn. I have also read that most game revenue comes from the us, which has a huge ios market. Would you suggest using/not using renpy
I always feel like sometimes mine can be to long or to short, my scenes now usually have a build up of 1 to 2 images, and then the sex scene itself, which also includes, 3 internal and external cum shots. I know it varies depending on the scene but what do you think is a good length? Looking for any advice
Hello,
I’m currently developing an nsfw title and I have some concerns regarding steam, patreon and stuff. I was hoping to get some insights from people who already successfully published nsfw titles.
I guess my biggest concern right now is that steam will reject my title or request significant changes. I did some research and the consensus of the community seems a bit ambiguous to me. Some people claim steam green lights everything that does make it clear that none of the characters can be interpreted as minors, others claim they got rejected for no reason.
My title features a lot of fetishes, some more extrem than others and I don’t know where steam draws the line. I understood than in the case of steam asking you to remove features, you just do that and patch them via an update, because steam will only check very thoroughly at your first commit. Is that the way to go ?
Also, I would like to know if it is smart to setup a steam page in advance even though steam would need to check my game first to see whether its even allowed ? I would rather not miss out on the chance of collecting wishlists for my game.
Lastly, patreon seems to be a very common thing among nsfw producers, bet it artists and such, how can people like me profit from using patreon ? Can somebody quickly explain the usual process please.
Thanks in advance, I guess I’m just really afraid on missing out in general. Be it the steam market or patreon, I would like to participate as well.
I've recently released my biggest game yet, playtesters and I didn't encounter any issues that appeared for certain players. Of course, I quickly found the cause and made appropriate update. But the game already got "Mostly negative" stamp after two days which is a death sentence for small developers.
But reviews are not even that negative, just marked as "negative". They liked it, but expected something much more for the genre. I made 3D JRPG-esque game, for context. There also are the usual "crash" and "didn't like it". I wrote how to report bugs so I can take a look, but review will not be changed. And you know how it is with NSFW - people are not really likely to write a review at all. Anyway, math is against me at this point :P
I planned to make even better game next, but now I have to rethink if it's worth it.
I'm working on a game where you have to complete NSFW focussed tasks in real life and I could use some help finding fun and challenging tasks 😊
The game gives you cards with quests for your real life, called Chards. Complete the Chard to reveal the next one. Those can be some simple tasks, save and not save for work (even though it'll focus on the nsfw part) or more challenging ones that might take quite some time to complete.
The goal is to have a game that'll challenge you for quite a long time, maybe even years.
Some example Chards would be:
Oh you expected something more lewd? Complete this Chard by being naked for one hour straight. Excluded are things like taking a shower or while still being covered by any type of fabric.
Let's introduce a bit of rng to this game. This Chard is completed when you get horny for no obvious reason.
Complete this Chard by orgasm without touching yourself. You can't let someone else do it for you.
If you have some ideas for tasks, please let me know. I'll need a loot of them for this 😅 Very thankful for all the help and ideas I can get 😊
I'm thinking about making an NSFW game for some time now. Initially, my idea was to create a visual novel with a complex story and multiple endings, but after writing 20 pages of the story without even touching any code, I started to think that maybe it’s not a good idea for a first project.
So now, I’m planning to make a pixel art metroidvania platformer game about a delicate wizard fighting monster girls (and boys) who are kind of crazy horny. This game would be heavily inspired by titles like Forest of the Blue Skin and Eroico, but with more lore and world-building, I hope.
So what do you guys think? I believe that making it would be very hard—creating all the mechanics, animations, sounds, effects, tilemaps, and developing the background story. But my previous idea of making a visual novel is pretty hard as well, considering what I’ve done so far.
Hi Devs, I am creating an adult RPG where you can do quests and some of these quests or just the world will involve fictional animals (wolves, horses, birds etc like creatures). I wanted to know how platforms like Patreon and Steam react to this, will they allow this or there will be some problems?
The Quest or Interaction with animals will only be:
