Hey there New Cerulean this is Rockdale coming to you live from the GMP room in my basement, I mean from the frontlines because that's where I am. Not, hanging around New Cerulean. Who suggested that?
ahem
Anyways, got some news for you. Cerulean Chanticleers fans eagerly await the return of the football season and the opening game this weekend against the Daja Spartans. Despite some question marks regarding the health of the starting QB, the youth of the WRs, and the fact that the kicker seems to have dropped off the face of the planet, fans are optimistic and think the team will have a good season.
In weather news the rains that was drenched the region of late will continue. Looks like we're heading for a wet fall here in New Cerulean.
We've also been getting reports from an exploration team that was exploring some of the more densely forested mountains of a large lake deep within the forests. But we'll have to wait for more information to confirm that. Turns out those rivers we've been seeing pop up lately have a source. Who knew?
Oh hey 5 o'clock time to punch out. Later suckers.
the sound of a headset hitting the ground and footsteps followed by a door closing are heard followed by silence
I stand on a walkway over a large lab. It's nothing new to me. I've been stuck in these kind of labs for too long. But this time it's not for me. I walk over to the table where an oblong metal sphere sits. A single slit with broken glass bisects it. A random assortment of other machine parts in various states of destruction sit around it.
"Can you rebuild him?" I ask aloud. There's only one engineer near me, his bald head looks up from his clipboard.
"The damage he took was catastrophic. We still haven't even determined what did it." He began to rattle off answers that don't match the question.
"I didn't ask that. I asked if you could rebuild him." I state plainly. "I'm a busy man. I don't have time for this. I just need answers for my superiors."
"Well, we can. It won't be easy but we can." He's now looking at my armor. I'm used to the odd looks. A heavily armored pony isn't an everyday occurrence for these people.
"Just get it done. Budget is no object. My superiors want him back online ASAP." I say as I turn to trot away.
"But it will take months to get the preliminary designs done! It couldn't be combat ready for years! Do you have any idea how long it took the first one to be built? Years of painstaking research and development. All for what? One botched operation?" He was rambling again.
"Just get it done." I say as I turn back towards him. "Or we will find someone else who can. It is that simple." I walk out the doors to the lab, letting the door swing shut behind me.
This song is a recent discovery from the rebellion against the tyrannical Dotland regime. Though the rebellion was instigated by the PRP it soon found footing in the repressed civilian population and eventually saw all eleven states of New Cerulean rise up and depose their Orangered governors. This particular song is the work of civilian songsmiths. The song refers to the Bonnie Blue Flag, an unofficial banner of the rebellion.
We are a band of brothers, and native to the soil.
Fighting for our liberty, with treasure blood and toil.
And when our rights were threatened, the cry rose near and far,
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star!
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
As long as the Orangereds were faithful to our trust.
Like friends and like brethren, kind we were, and just.
But when Orangered treachery attempts our rights to mar,
We'll hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star!
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
First gallant South Cerulean nobly made the stand.
Then came Ole Brittanica and took her by the hand.
Next, quickly Stevenson, Stuart, Longstreet.
All raised on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
Ye men of valor gather round the banner of the right
For Tealburg and fair Pandania join us in the fight.
Rockdale, our loved Governor, and Sahdee, our LT are,
Rallied behind the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star!
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
Now here's to brave Wellington, the Old Dominion State,
Who with the young rebellion at length has hanged her fate.
Compelled by her example, now other states prepare
To hoist on high the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
Then cheer, boys, cheer, raise a joyous shout
For Antistar and North Cerulean now have both gone out,
And let another rousing cheer for Temeraire be given,
The single star of the Bonnie Blue Flag has grown to be eleven.
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
So here's to New Cerulean! Strong we are and brave!
Like patriots of old we'll fight, our heritage to save!
And rather than submit to shame, to die we would prefer,
So cheer, cheer for that Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star!
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Peri's rights hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a single star.
Bill,
I've spent the last couple of days observing the Hippos as they settle into the preserve. Attached is a summary of my findings.
Flying Purple Hippo
Scientific name: Hippopotamus Purpuluz
Size: 8,000 lbs, 15' long
Diet: Grass, Orangered war equipment
Details-
Upon initial observation the Flying Purple Hippo does not seem exceptionally different from other known species of hippos, EXCEPT THAT THEY FLY. They spend most of the daylight hours lounging in the water in large groups, EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE FLYING. At night they venture out of the water to graze alone, EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE FLYING.They are sluggish on land, WHEN NOT FLYING, but can still reach speeds of 30 miles per hour, OR MACH 3.4 WHEN FLYING. In the water they are graceful and display several adaptations for their mostly aquatic existence; including ears and nostrils that can close and a skin excretion that acts as a sunscreen. IN THE AIR THEY ARE ALSO GRACEFUL AND THEIR ADAPTATIONS INCLUDE LARGE WINGS IF YOU HADN'T NOTICED. They are large animals with large teeth and are agressive towards humans. Oddly enough they seem to be benevolent towards Periwinkles and so long as you keep your distance they seem to permit observations. They attack Orangereds on sight, however. THEY ARE PURPLE AS A RESULT OF BILLIONS OF YEARS OF EVOLUTION.
Sincerely,
Jason Miles, Head Field Researcher.

Rockdale threw open the door to his office in the government building in New Cerulean, letting it slam against the wall before it swung shut. What a fucking disaster. he thought as he tossed his duffle bag down on the small sofa he kept for those long nights at the office. Half our forces end up at Vipers and the rest show up at the Marsh. We finally get to the Marsh just in time to watch the battle end. Then more difficulties and I just now get back. Whatever, at least we won. He thought as he flopped down into his chair. He laid his head on his desk, hoping to catch a brief nap before his day started. Before he could even close his eyes the intercom on his desk buzzed to life.
“Governor there is a John Miller and Nimbus Burst here to see you. They claim to know you. Should I send them in?” Rockdale’s heart skipped a beat and his mind blanked out. For an instant he felt hope that his long dead friends had somehow come back. But they are dead. he reminded himself. His hope was quickly replaced with anger. God dammit what kind of sick joke is this? He felt fury began to course through his veins. Who the fuck impersonates dead soldiers? He saw the knob on his office door start to turn and he stood to confront the imposters. The door slowly opened.
“Listen I don’t know who the fuck you think you are but-“ Rockdale stopped cold, stunned at the sight before him. In the doorway stood John Miller, and Nimbus Burst. Rockdale’s hands covered his mouth as he drew in several shaky breaths, the beginnings of tears forming in his eyes. He stumbled out from behind his desk as the pair before him looked almost as shocked as he did.
“Are you ok…?” Nimbus finally managed to ask as Rockdale slowly made his way towards them. This was certainly not how they expected their meeting to go. Sure they thought he’d be happy to see them, not… this. Rockdale slowly reached a hand out towards each one. After a moment’s pause Nimbus reached a foreleg to meet his hand, and Miller mirrored the move and reached a hand out. As soon as his hands met Miller’s hand and Nimbus’ hoof he recoiled back.
“It’s you… It’s really you…” Rockdale breathed as he fell to his knees.
“Uh… Yeah, I get that we were gone for a while but is this necessary?” Nimbus asked beginning to feel a bit awkward as their CO had a breakdown in front of them. Suddenly Rockdale reached out and pulled both of them into tight hug. After a moment the pair half-heartedly return their CO’s embrace. Finally Miller spoke up.
“Rockdale, what’s going on here? This isn’t like you. I know we were missing for some time but this is a bit much.” Miller said with a hint of exasperation in his voice. Rockdale looked to him with confusion in his eyes that mirrored his own.
“Missing? You were both dead. Hell you still might be, and I might be crazy for all I know.” Rockdale said as he walked over to a table on the far side of the room.
“But that’s impossible.” Miller stated. “I can understand being listed as MIA. I was stranded on Arcanine for a very long time.”
“Yeah, and the other ponies and I all flew to the Grove to rest after the nuke went off in Londo. We’ve been recovering there since.” Nimbus added. Rockdale said nothing only shook his head some. He returned with two wooden boxes, one holding a medal, the other empty. Each box had a small plaque with their name on it. Miller opened the box and read the inscription while Nimbus stood there looking confused. “Why is mine empty?” she finally asked
“Oh right, I left it on your statue in the Memorial Gardens.” Rockdale answered as he moved to his desk and began pulling out pieces of paper.
“I have a statue?” Nimbus asked to no one in particular.
“This is a mistake.” Miller finally spoke up. “High command must have thought I was dead. That’s why this is marked awarded posthumously. I was stranded on Arcanine for a long time.”
“John, the Orangereds found your body sometime after the battle. DNA tests confirmed it was you.” Rockdale handed him a newspaper clipping with the headline reading HERO’S BODY RETURNED TO NEW CERULEAN. “You were one of the few bodies they did something with. The rest were still lying there when we went back.” Rockdale said with venom in his voice. Miller read the article, slowly sinking into a chair as he did so.
“Then what about me?” Nimbus asked. “I’ve been recovering in the Grove with the other Pegasi. We decided to go there after Londo for some peace and quiet. I even left you a letter telling you we’d gone there.” Rockdale handed her a letter in a plain white envelope.
“Nimbus, you and the other pegasi died in the hospital at Londo of radiation poisoning. I was at your bedside when you died.” Nimbus’ eyes began to scan the letter as she recognized her own hoofwriting. Rockdale reached under his shirt. When Nimbus looked up she saw Rockdale holding a yellow feather. It was the final piece that made her realize he spoke the truth. She fell back on her haunches as her legs gave out from under her. “Both of you died. Now you’re back. I don’t know how it happened, and honestly I don’t really care. I’m just glad that-“ Rockdale was cut off as the red phone on his desk began to cry out in its harsh wail. Rockdale cursed under his breath and grabbed the phone. On the other end he heard Zwoosh’s voice.
“The Orangereds are mobilizing offshore at Nordwalder. All forces head there now.” Rockdale simply slammed the phone down and swore.
“Ten minutes of peace is all I wanted is that too much to ask?” He said to no one in particular. Then he turned to the two friends in front of him. “Listen, I know that you just got back and have a lot of questions but the Reds are moving on Nord. It’d be nice to have you two by my side again…” He said with a bit of hope to his voice. Miller was the first to respond.
“Sorry sir, but if what you say is true then I’ve got some, personal, things to deal with.” He said as he slowly rose to his feet.
“Yeah, me too. Guess me and the other Pegasi need to get home to our families.” Nimbus said.
“I understand.” Rockdale said with a hint of defeat in his voice. “Nimbus I’ll arrange for a transport to take you and the others back home. John, well you know how to get around in Chroma. But, if you’d like we can meet up at the Cyan Mountain tonight. I’d like to have one last night together before we all go our separate ways.” Nimbus and Miller looked at him and nodded with a smile as he smiled back. They left his office to take care of what their own business. Rockdale sat behind his desk, and dared himself to hope.
If they’re back. I wonder if they are too…
The sound of the door opening and someone announcing themselves loudly made Rockdale jerk his head off the desk. A thin trail of drool reaching from the corner of his mouth.
“I wasn’t sleeping.” He proclaimed “I only closed my eyes for ten minutes I swear.” He hastily wiped the drool from his mouth and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. He was vaguely aware of a female giggling.
“Is this why we had to wait nearly an hour?” he heard a male voice ask. That voice... Rockdale finally regained his senses and saw Major Californicus and Lieutenant Shea standing in the doorway looking at him with smirks plastered upon their faces.
“Did I gain the ability to see ghosts or something?” Rockdale asked as he stood up and walked to greet the pair. They gave him an odd look but said nothing. “First Miller and Nimbus, then you two. Next you’re gonna tell me Owens-Stark is back too.” He laughed as he shook Cal’s hand, then Dana’s. “Shit I don’t even care anymore. Damn good to have you back.”
“Colonel Owens-Stark is back sir, he’s recovered from his wounds and is currently handling his own business.” Cal informed him.
“That’s also why we’re here.” Dana cut in to keep things from getting more off track. “We were wondering about our status and place in the army. We were gone for a while, and we don’t know if things have changed.”
“Well, after the Siege of Oraistedearg most troops were discharged and sent home as we converted from a standing army to an army of occupation. Now most of those are trying to get reenlisted. Something you two will also need to do. It could take quite some time.” Rockdale saw the crestfallen looks that fell on both of their faces. The idea of having to sit out even more fighting weighed heavily on them. “But, seeing as you are both such outstanding soldiers. I believe I can circumvent a few things…” He said as he walked to a filing cabinet and pulled two folders out. He quickly rifled through them and found the pages he was looking for. He pulled a stamper from his drawer, stamped each with his seal, and signed them before setting them in the small tray labeled “Out” on his desk. “There we go, you have been restored as officers in the 7^th Cavalry.” He announced.
“Thank you sir!” they said simultaneously and snapped to attention. He returned their salutes.
“By the way, Miller, Nimbus and I will be stopping in at The Cyan Mountain tonight. You two are welcome to join us if you so desire.” Rockdale informed them. Cal and Dana looked at each other and smiled.
“I think a night out sounds lovely.” Dana said. “Cal never takes me anywhere.” She added and she gave her lover a sly look.
“Hey we just went on a cross country trip, don’t try and say I don’t take you anywhere.” He countered. “We’ll see you there sir.” Cal said as he began to make his way towards the door.
“Excellent. And get the 7^th ready to move towards Nord, the reds are making a push.” Rockdale called after them. He heard something that sounded vaguely like them acknowledging the order before the door closed behind him. Rockdale sat back down in his chair and put his feet up on his desk. He closed his eyes as he decided to take a rest.
But only for ten minutes
Because me and most of the refugees from VU are moving in for a while.
Also, we're giving the Fuzzy Mary a neon makeover.
Hello and welcome to the Periwinkle Territory of New Cerulean! Although New Cerulean is quiet now it wasn't always such a peaceful place. This now-quaint little territory has a surprisingly deep history with a lot of twists and turns, but we'll get to that shortly. If you wish to jump straight into your application feel free to scroll to the bottom of what I'm sure is about to be a massive wall of text.
New Cerulean is a very mountainous land that was originally named for the Periwinkle Military installation: Fort Lapis. The Cerulean Mountains border the former Orangered territory of Snooland. It was the Orangered presence there that lead to the construction of a military outpost to watch the border. It was during the construction of Fort Lapis that the Periwinkles ran into the indigenous Cerulean peoples. Though their exact origin is unknown, their ancient language and traditions are not so dissimilar to the ancients of Nordwälder that many researchers have begun to wonder if the two peoples were once one.
Not much is known about the Ancient Ceruleans' ways of life, save for some of the traditions that have been carried through the centuries and survive to today. At its core is a firm belief in defense of the home and the family, as well as the glory of dying to protect your home. Many who trace their roots to the old days believe that those who die in battle are rewarded for their sacrifice and live on forever in the paradise known as Chromagarde. The ancient ruler of the Ceruleans held the title of High King, another tradition that has carried over to the modern day, though in no official capacity. Some still refer to whoever New Cerulean's Governor is as the High King.
The Ceruleans are a strong and proud people, loyal to a fault, and quite stubborn. This attitude has served them well as life in the mountains was very unforgiving for some time, and in many cases still is. But, with the lessons they learned throughout their years here they have carved out a quiet way of life, living peacefully unless provoked into action. They aided the Periwinkle Engineers sent to construct Fort Lapis and the small town that had once held only a few hundred people soon boomed into a small city of a few thousand. The Native Ceruleans welcomed the new citizens with open arms, and soon were annexed into the Periwinkle Kingdom.
The first Periwinkle Governor of New Cerulean was a man named Spiffers the Great. Unfortunately for all involved this turned out to be a misnomer. After living in relative peace for some time the Quiet land was soon rocked by a series of violent explosions. In one of the rare examples of peaceful cooperation in Chroma, both Periwinkles and Orangereds worked together to provide aid to the territory in turmoil. Investigations showed that members of the National Periwinkle Party (NPP) were behind the attacks, a plausible theory given that many places hit in the bombings were government buildings. In the midst of the chaos the Governor Spiffers declared martial law and proceeded to place his People's Republic of Periwinkle Party (PRP) members in positions of power. He then put a stop to all outside sources of aid.
Shortly thereafter GMP reporters uncovered a message about a PRP plot to kill many relief workers in Candish Square. This resulted in Spiffers taking many of the reporters hostage. He justified these acts by claiming them to be agents of the NPP. However, one escaped and alerted the Periwinkle Government as to the dire situation in Fort Lapis.
Spurred into action the Periwinkle military assembled a special task force known as Strike Force Vinca (SFV) to enter the city and neutralize Spiffers. Most of what occurred over the hours after SFV inserted into the city is classified, but when dawn broke Spiffers was in custody. It was then that the Periwinkles uncovered a much more sinister piece of the mad governor's plot: A nuclear weapon had been hidden in Fort Lapis and was now set to blow the entire territory to Kingdom Come, and leave a smoking, irradiated ruin in its place. In the end SFV was able to defuse the bomb. Spiffers exact fate is unknown, he was last known to be in custody of the Periwinkle Government.
It is at this point that I enter the scene. The Periwinkle Government developed a clear course of action: the remnants of Spiffers and the PRP needed to be wiped away from Fort Lapis to give it a new start. So I was selected to take over as Governor, Sahdee as Lieutenant Governor, and the territory's name was changed to New Cerulean. Rebuilding was a long an arduous task, but New Cerulean has recovered and returned greater than ever.
However it was not a simple road to recovery. The Orangereds repeatedly attempted to seize New Cerulean into their nation, and destroy the symbiotic relationship between the Ceruleans and the Periwinkles. The Orangereds launched the first of several invasions of New Cerulean in September of 2013. While initially finding success in their first invasion, the Orangereds were driven out by an aggressive Periwinkle counterattack. The second invasion never got off the ground as a crushing loss in the Midnight Marsh left the Orangereds in no shape to invade New Cerulean. The third invasion was saw the Orangereds succeed in seizing New Cerulean. A miscalculation on the part of the Periwinkle High Command left New Cerulean with a very young group of defenders to stand against the Orangereds. The Orangereds brought many of their elite troops down upon New Cerulean, and despite a valiant defense the Periwinkles were driven back. The Periwinkle counterattack was thwarted by the Orangereds massive numbers and New Cerulean fell into the clutches of the Orangereds.
The Orangered regime was headed by Dotchee and saw PaperTax as his Lieutenant Governor. He quickly showed how egotistical and tyrannical he was with his renaming of the territory in his honor, Dotland, and passed several acts meant to punish and oppress Periwinkle citizens. These acts ranged from usurious taxes to forcing Periwinkle citizens to wear a blue star on their clothing to identify them as Periwinkles, to imprisonment and torture. The prison MiniLuv was built and used to house political enemies of the Dotland regime. It is best remembered as a place of immense pain and torment, and a true look at man's chilling inhumanity to other man.
The remnants of the PRP took advantage of the unrest within the Periwinkle population in New Cerulean to spark a rebellion posing as New Cerulean citizens lashing out against the Orangered rule. The rebellion picked up speed until it was revealed that the PRP was behind the rebellion. After being thrown into the light the PRP attempted to follow in their master's footsteps and detonate a nuclear weapon in New Cerulean. The final few hours of this rebellion saw much chaos and confusion and many details are foggy. What is known is that the PRP was stopped again. Things quieted down and, at the urging of many leaders, Theel repealed the oppressive acts and saw a wary peace fall over New Cerulean.
Periwinkle victories at Vermillion Union and Pasto Range soon saw Snooland and New Cerulean cut off from the Orangered Empire. Periwinkle quickly took advantage of this fact and attacked each, liberating New Cerulean and conquering Snooland with no bloodshed. New Cerulean was back in Periwinkle hands where it remains today.
Shortly after the liberation of New Cerulean, Sahdee left the Lieutenant Governor position to take over Nordwälder as its Governor. l_rufus_californicus has since replaced her as Lieutenant Governor.
Now that history is out of the way, let's get on to the reason you came to this thread for: Citizenship. Any Periwinkle can become a citizen by filling out the application below:
Are you a spy or an Orangered alt?
Are you a citizen of any other territory?
Do you own any property? If so what?
Are you willing to fight for New Cerulean?
Do you like the mountains?
How good are you with field artillery? Actually if you move here you'll get better with it so forget that. Redacted following conquest of Snooland
Do you have any special skills?
Do you have any battle experience?
Are you interested in the lore of Chroma?
In 10 words or one sentence please explain why Team Periwinkle is superior to Team Orangered.

TLDR: /u/theelout was still hiding out in Miniluv, he opened the place as a museum for a crazy plan to start a Neo-Orangered movement to reclaim New Cerulean from the inside, he sent killer robots out and I blew up the place.
You should edit the map of NC.
Please be aware that now that Snooland is under Periwinkle control its use as a practice target is no longer allowed. I repeat, firing artillery on Snooland for practice is no longer allowed.
Thank you for your cooperation.
That colour scheme is so fresh and beautiful! So much nicer than Dotland...
After much time spent under the rule of the Orangereds New Cerulean has been liberated by the Periwinkle Army! I am proud to stand before you, once again, as the Governor of New Cerulean. Of course as you all know I was also the Governor of Pasto Range. Well, as of now the Governor of Pasto Range is Bubbajack. He will serve the people of Pasto well.
Now, onto the matter of New Cerulean. Effective immediately all acts passed by the Orangered Government are null and void. On that same note any Orangered citizens who remained behind are free to stay. They will be welcomed as citizens of New Cerulean and are to be treated as such. They are equal citizens to any of us.
Now, in celebration of this glorious day, please rise and gentlemen remove your hats for "Hail Cerulean":
Hail Cerulean, happy land!
Hail, ye heroes, heaven-born band,
Who fought and bled in freedom's cause,
Who fought and bled in freedom's cause,
And when the storm of war was gone
Enjoy'd the peace your valor won.
Let independence be our boast,
Ever mindful what it cost;
Ever grateful for the prize,
Let its altar reach the skies.
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.
Immortal patriots, rise once more,
Defend your rights, defend your shore!
Let no rude foe, with impious hand,
Let no rude foe, with impious hand,
Invade the shrine where sacred lies
Of toil and blood, the well-earned prize,
While offering peace, sincere and just,
In Heaven's we place a manly trust,
That truth and justice will prevail,
And every scheme of bondage fail.
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.
Yes my friends. We won this land is now periwinkle and its ours! Get out the alcool im starting a bar here!
This.
By imprisoning myself and redis, you opened the gate to allow subversive agents of the PRP to seize control of the rebellion.
I have tried contacting the resistance, but all my messages are unheeded. I have no control over what happens next, but let it be known you have brought this on yourself.
Have we done this to one of your territories?
Have we taken your cheese?
Have we destroyed your objects?
The answer is no.Only peri's have done this to our territories. This is Dotland, formally known as New Cerulean, formally known as Fort Lapis(Which is private).
Viva La Dotland!Viva la Orangered!
