Does anyone know when she will be back? Is she returning this year? I am very excited to see her hit the floor as a Bruin.
This is a series I've been doing on /r/CollegeBasketball and /r/CFB for quite a while now, and I'm doing for WBB for the first time. The post attempts to visualize consistency between voters in the AP Poll in a single image. Additionally it sorts each AP voter by similarity to the group. Notably, this is not a measure of how "good" a voter is, just how consistent they are with the group. Especially preseason, having a diversity of opinions and ranking styles is advantageous to having a true consensus poll. Polls tend to coalesce towards each other as the season goes on.
Back up to 32 ballots this week.
Emily Adams was the most consistent voter this week. Joe Vozzelli, Matt Dowell, Angel Gray, Marisa Ingemi, and Christy Winters Scott are the 5 most consistent on the season.
Mitchell Northam was the biggest outlier this week. Mitchell Northam, Percy Allen, Jeff Linder, Sabreena Merchant, and Kim Adams are the biggest outliers on the season.
There are certainly games today. The biggest one is the Play4Kay game at NC State as they host Duke. Otherwise, well... I hope you're a fan of Diamond Johnson because her Norfolk State team is in action. If you want to watch two terrible SEC teams go at it then Florida is playing Arkansas?
Also as a reminder the r/NCAAW poll is out and everybody should go vote in it! If you are reading this, you are eligible to vote.
Game | Time (ET) | TV | Score |
---|---|---|---|
NC Central at Norfolk State | 4 PM | ESPN+ | |
#10 Duke at #17 NC State | 7 PM | ESPN2 |
This is not the main NCAAW user poll ballot, for that ballot go here. The link to vote for the Mid-Major+ user poll is at the bottom of this post.
This poll features the top 20 weekly rankings of ALL teams excluding those from the ACC, B10, B12, BE & SEC. While the future of the P12 is sorted out, Oregon St and Washington St are also now eligible on ballots, at least for 2024-25, while they are in the WCC.
The "+" in this poll's name is a nod to the varied usage of the term "mid-major", as there are teams in this poll sometimes discussed as outliers, high or low majors etc. and the scope of this poll includes ALL teams outside of the 5 conferences mentioned above. Mid-Major is not an official term used by the NCAA and is not interpreted the same by all. The primary purpose of this poll is for starting conversations about the teams themselves, not the concept of a mid-major. Remember have fun and be courteous to others!
After asking around with some folks who voted last season we are trialing Top 20 rankings, up from 15. If the increase becomes too challenging for voters who have wanted to participate in the past, we may revert back to 15 next season, or if it's a precipitous drop off in participation, sooner if necessary.
This poll utilizes a drop down menu that abbreviates many teams with geographic/compass directions. For example: C. Arkansas for Central Arkansas & W. Carolina for Western Carolina. Some teams won't have these abbreviations and a small number of team names may vary on different websites compared to the ballot list, but hopefully it should be pretty straightforward. If there’s any confusion please feel free to contact me.
Expect for the foreseeable future this will be free to all voters, no application required, just like the main NCAAW user poll. User names are required for submitting ballots, in case any follow up is required, but ballots will be anonymous and not shared with the results for the time being.
I don’t anticipate there to be many voters here that don’t already participate in the main NCAAW user poll. However, if this would be the first poll for any voters and you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments section.

Like the main user poll:
The poll will lock today, February 3rd at 11 PM ET. And please remember, do not take into consideration any of today's games when filling out this ballot.
Hope you enjoyed the full slate of games today! Now is the time for all of us dedicated voters to compile our ballots for our newest version of the r/NCAAW Top 25 Poll. If you’re interested in joining in the fun, we’d love for you to add your ballot in with the group.
CLICK HERE to cast your ballot. We’ll close the poll down tonight at 11pm (EST). PLEASE remember to not use today’s games when considering your rankings!
Also, if we have a question or a mistake we’d like to fix with your ballot, we may reach out to you via PM. We hope to get a timely response so we can correct any ballot and have it included. Thanks, as always, for the time and effort you all put in each week!
Why don't the LSU Lady Tigers don't have a retirement ceremony scheduled for ANGEL REESE? She helped this school win they're only national championship and she was NCAA tournament most valuable player. Is there something I'm missing because I would think LSU would want to celebrate her

I didn’t know it was this bad people are talking about the shooting percentage or “ball hogging” I mean I don’t know what she’s supposed to do.
I’m disappointed in Kiki there were arguments before the season that she should be in number 1 pick conversations it’s possible she falls out of the lottery. The W won’t hold your hand and wait for you to develop. If you fall to the wrong team they will bench you for two seasons not let you play and then cut you.
She’s not all that strong so she won’t be at the center position at the next level. Her finishing also isn’t the best
look there’s a difference between missing a layup and cleaning up your own miss vs missing a Layup not getting the rebound and then jogging back on defense leading to a fastbreak score for the other team. Kiki often does the second one.
she’s gonna be at the 4 the deepest position in the W. her conditioning isn’t there either. Listen the W doesn’t care for younger players it’s very possible you go to a team that will bench you for two years and then cut you she’s gotta step it up
TVO looks absolutely lost and it’s not just missing shots she’s doing stuff that makes you go “what are you doing” it’s to the point where I think Avery Howell (the freshman) should start
Avery averages 6.6 ppg 34% from 3 and 42% from the field. Along with 2.7 rebounds In 18 minutes per game
TVO is averaging 6.6 ppg 27% from 3 37% from the field with double he turnovers.
USC doesn’t have a pg to handle the ball either and on top of this They have no bench.
Last but not least the coaching is…….lemme put it this way the day juju graduates it’s possible they mutually part ways as soon as she crosses the stage I haven’t seen a juju and Kiki pick and roll in 10 games
Maybe she’d make a great defensive assistant but head coach????? No

From what I recall, there was never a court rush during the CC era. After Iowa beat #4 USC, they did one - but controlled, the right way with the help of security. While I know they are controversial, I think this could be a happy medium to ensure player safety and allow fan celebration/lifetime moments.n
With the win over Auburn, South Carolina extends their home win streak to 70 games, joining Stanford (82 wins) and UConn (98 wins, 99 wins) as the only programs to achieve this.
Two programs, Baylor and Tennessee, both reached 69 straight wins at home, before both lost to UConn to end the streak. UConn also had their third longest streak end at 69 games.
Stanford’s 82 game streak was also broken by UConn, and if South Carolina beats Florida for their 71st win, they will host the Huskies to try and make it 72.
How could this happen to us?’😂
