Who here identifies as bisexual?
Are there any bisexual youtubers making pony content? I know of several gay ones, and Forest Rain, but no bisexual ones.
Matthew Palumbo is a Brony, a father, and a person with a visual disability. His degenerative eye condition made him completely blind in one eye and with little usable vision in the other. He has been able to bond with his son by watching MLP:FiM since the bright colors were more easily visible. Last year, wanted to show the world how MLP helped people with all sorts of disabilities as well as marginalized identities in the LGBT spectrum to band together, find common ground, and help each other. So last year, he presented a panel at Bronycon that included him, the creator of Snowdrop, an educator and even his son! He also collected 100 testimonials and stories from Bronies & Pegasisters from allover the world on how MLP had helped them. The panel was a great success-- the room was almost completely filled to capacity-- so successful that Bronycon invited him back. This also looks like this is going to be the last convention he'll have with any sort of eyesight remaining. So in addition to an even more ambitious panel, now he wants to collect more stories from us-- which will be presented at the panel, available as a free download, a free audiobook for the visually impaired, and a hard copy.
There are 3 ways you can help. The most important way is by sharing your story here: http://copingwithpony.weebly.com/share-your-story.html (You can use a pen name or remain anonymous).
The second way you can help is to spread the word. Tell other bronies, send it in to fan sites, tell people that might share an interest!
The third way is by looking at the fundrasing page. Matthew is selling off his entire personal collection-- everything from anime and MT:G card to MLP and Nintendo items.
Thanks in advance for reading, everyone!
If there's a sub for mlp convention stuff, I couldn't find it, but I think it may be relevant here. Please let me know if I was wrong and/or if there's a better sub for this.
So, I'll be vending at Fiesta Equestria! in Houston this weekend and it happens to be the same weekend at the Houston Pride parade. I'll be going to at least enjoy the parade Saturday night and I'm looking to see if anyone wants to join me on my adventure with Houston public transit or driving there or whatever (I have my car... but downtown Houston is scary).
Even if you aren't attending the con, but happen to be local and want to go, I'd love to have more company.
I think it'd be something cute to look at. Anything like a comic or w/e. A decent one.
(crossposted from a comment I made in the mane sub)
Is this the first visible queer relationship in the show? :D
Fluttershy invites Tree Hugger (when the other Mane Six are taking family), seems very very interested in talking to her, and is very quick to be affectionate (when Tree Hugger is released, she goes to hug her close.
That seems like a lesbian couple to me. c: Admittedly, I could be reading too far into it (because I reeeeeally want to see LGBT representation in the show), but it seems like that's what it was meant to be. They probably couldn't be more clear than that (probably worried about potential backlash from homophobic parents), but I'd still really like it if it was proof that one of the Mane Six is queer and in a queer relationship. c:
EDIT: Plus, she calls her "Treesie" :3
