I'm a music producer, and sometimes rap. I currently use my phone to record vocals and my cheaper laptop to make beats with cheap Bluetooth headphones. I'm currently looking for the best quality headphones for $50 to $100 USD (used os okay) the next thing I'll buy with my next paycheck is an interface, so I'm currently just looking for headphones for my phone and laptop. Any and all suggestions. Also please no/little low end roll off since a lot of my music has heavy low bass around 50-80 hz.
Independent music artist? Up and rising? Post the Apple Music and Spotify links of one of your songs with a one line description for a stream.
Best if you have a fanlink.
PS: Look through the list and stream any song that interests you as well.
how many of you producers out there use loops for your beats? I know splice is a huge platform people use and I see a lot of producers talk about it so I am curious to see who uses them, and what your thoughts are? I feel like using them is kinda like cheating in the sense that I feel less fulfilled when I’ve finished a project and used loops. Like i didn’t put any work in… But on the same token it has helped a lot with speeding up workflow and being able to use instruments you may not have access too. thoughts?
I’m relatively new to recording and producing, i normally do full track songs but i’ve been wanting to do something different. I have this song that I want to record just acoustic and vocals with a vocal harmony(maybe). Any tips on what I should do? Thanks guys
I've gotten into production a bit ago, and I've had some good things come out of it, but I always can't do more with it after laying down m the basic parts. Like on a beat I was making yesterday, after having the drums, bass, and melody made, I just blanked on what to do with it next. Originally, I would just write my lyrics to the half finished beat, record them, then work on the beat based off the recording. But, my friend wants me to make a couple beats for him, and I want to but I'm not sure if I could do this half finished beat process I've done for a bit. Plus, it's hard to write on the beat since it usually is just looped for so long. So what should I do? How can I continue making my beat after laying out the basics?
Anybody know any good DCI brass VSTs for ~100$ or less
I was producing on this HP laptop I’ve had for a few years but it had very limited space and the years are also starting to get to it as I’m seeing it degrade in quality. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about Macs which might be better for me since I have an iPhone but I’m not sure and I can’t find many reliable videos on the subject (also not ultra-expensive ones)
I made a beat a while back using the duel of fates theme from star wars. The only logical thing to do with it is a nerdcore rap song (Dan bull, ERB) I can rap and I'm half decent at it. The only issue is that it's 7 minutes long.
I need help filling the spaces and I am always looking for a collab.
DM or just hit me up on here if you are interested.
(Even if you are just a Darth maul super nerd and know all the lore, I could use your brain)

Welcome to my YouTube channel
I spent a fair bit of time editing a lead vocal. Moved on to something else and came back to it to find it like this. Audibly undone all the editing I'd done. Not the first time this has happened.

Hi everyone ! Been listening to Endless a lot recently and I'm blown away by how well it is produced. Thus I would need help to recreate the following sounds:
Thanks in advance !
Hello wonderful community,
I’m here to seek guidance on building my first PC, I am looking forward to you providing your valuable knowledge and expertise.
Quick background: I had a budget of $8k to buy a spec’d out M4 Max MacBook Pro. Why Apple? I heard about it being able to deliver PC speeds and ARM superiority, so if I can afford the luxury of a “portable PC”, great! That was until I did some digging and came to conclusion that it’s more sensible to take the custom PC build route, and get same performance for fraction of the price. I understand that majority in music world are afraid and overwhelmed with the complications involved with music on PC and rather spend on a Mac knowing nothing can go wrong and not know about the existence of “system drivers”.. I think that is not a barrier for me and especially with your help this will be relatively straight forward.
Sorry if above was unnecessary, now for what’s relevant:
I want to build a PC, I have not done it before. As mentioned before I have about $8k to spend. This PC is solely for music production and no gaming. I want to buy the most powerful PC that will give me the best experience with music creation. What do I mean by music creation? I am using 50-100 tracks, most will have cpu intensive plugins and FX (KONTAKT, Nexus, Omnisphere, Pigments to name a few..), I want ultra low latency when recording on midi and NEVER to think about consolidation (freezing tracks), and just smooth playback.
This is what I have found, please let me know if you have something better:
CPU The new Ryzen 9 series, not sure which one, was told 9950x, please confirm if good choice. (Should I get threadripper? Was told that DAWS don’t even know how to utilize the sheer amount of power, and I will never ever need so much power.. tell me if I’m wrong)
RAM I want 128gb. I am in the dark about which company and config to get, the point is, I want the fastest in the context of loading KONTAKT libs and music prod in general.
STORAGE 8TB (option to upgrade to more, some day). Again, need guidance with which brand which specs and config (2x4tb or 1x8tb..) to achieve fastest speeds (like when loading orchestra libraries…), I understand internal SSD will be the fastest.
MOTHERBOARD I am in the void with what to choose, not sure what to even ask.. want brand with best track record and reliability. Which boards do you guys use?
COOLING Again, this PC is solely for music, I don’t want to hear any noise coming from the PC (!!), if I need to spend $1k to achieve that, I don’t care.. tell me what to buy and I buy.
GRAPHICS CARD No gaming, best bank for buck under $500, maybe will upgrade someday RTX 4090
POWER Not sure what I need, safe and reliable I guess is the key.
TOWER I have a friend that will assemble the PC, I guess the most important thing I am looking for is that it will eliminate any noise coming from within, so I can have a virtually silent PC.
Mendel, Thanks for your time!

Ive been recording shitty sounding demos in my spare time but the part i'm usually the least happy with is the vocals. Is it just my obvious lack of skill or is it lack of actual gear? I feel like the vocals just sound muffled, dark, lifeless and boomy. I'm exaggerating a little but since i have to describe it, thats what i'll say.
Working in logic btw
Thanks for any tips.
Have been getting into remixing and mashups recently and wondering if there are any pointers in how to get better at creating them. I’ve mostly been using Hook on iOS for short form remixes and mashups but want to start toying with FL studio. Any tips/recommendations are appreciated!
Hi guys! For the past few months I’ve been trying to make music which is my dream and I wanted advise and guidance on a few things • For starters, what is a good free music production software? I’ve been using waveform and although good and easy to use, I find it’s not very professional so I’m open to suggestions. (I don’t have an iOS computer if that makes any difference) • On top of that I would love some also free auto tune or pitch correction software (I’m a student so budget is pretty tight) • Lastly, the only instruments that I have are an electric piano and a couple of guitars, nothing percussion. What can I do to add some drums that wouldn’t break the bank?
Thank you, any more suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated and more than welcome!
Hello,
I'd like to set up my home studio so that 5 musicians can quietly practice together. Right now I have 5 audio signals (guitar, keys, bass, e-drums, vocals) all running into my gen 2 Focusrite 18i20 interface. I want all 5 musicians to have a set of headphones with their own mix. I also want 2 stereo outs running to monitor speakers.
The 18i20 has 2 headphone outs, then some additional line outs that I'm using for the monitors. My thought is that I could run the additional ADAT outs to 3 additional sets of headphones to make for 5 total headphone outs with individual mixes.
My question is: What's the best way to add 3 more headphone outs to my interface?
My initial idea is to get an ADAT output expander like the Focusrite OctoPRE, run the outputs into a Mackie HM-400, and connect everyone's headphones to it. Either that, or running the outputs from the OctroPRE in to a Behringer P1 for each musician.
Most of the resources I found online were using more complex and expensive systems like the Behringer powerplay, which feels a bit overkill. I also saw the MOTU Monitor 8, it seems like it would solve my problem all in one unit, but it's pretty expensive.
What are your thoughts? Is there a simpler way to do this? Is my idea too jank?
Thanks :)
Sup Guys,
I wanna build a group for artists to send demos 1-2x a week where other people can give feedback and interact.
With the goal of improving with time and also create connections for future projects together, I generally make trap/r&b but it’s not exclusive for that genre, and it’s not exclusive for artists, would love to have beatmakers and engineers involved on this group.
If you’re interested send me a message in private with your full phone number (including +1 839 etc...) and I’ll start to organize things to start the group 👊
I like this effect on the word don't (starts around 0:17). I believe it's a delay effect and if so what is the specific name of it? Thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmG9wHpX_R0
I was wondering what is the ideal mic setup for recording if i only have 2 mics to record with. Im looking for the best snare definition in my recordings.
Im from India and the cheapest and most positively reviewed Audio Interface ive seen is the
This may be a bit of a niche, but did anyone ever try to recreate the sound of 70s country albums (e.g. Longhaired Redneck - DAC, Honky Tonk Heroes - Waylon etc)? I’ve been playing around with tape delay and some mid boosts but it still comes out sounding like, well, 2024. Anybody got some advice?
Thanks in advance!
Watch for yourself. Can’t wait to solve more.🤝🤝🤝❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been doing research and testing out daws for about a year or more, I’ve seen that Logic, FL, and Abelton are probably the most popular right now with a couple of outliers. I have probably been overthinking this choice but I’ve tried to learn the Daws and I still don’t know which one to commit to I’m also trying to figure out the Industry standards, which one gives the most bang for your buck, and which one has the best options. If you guys have any suggestions (especially if you have a good amount of experience in multiple DAWs) please help.
They have a buy 2 get 2 free deal. Bought 4 expecting 4 free. They said my purchase had to be 2 separate purchases. I feel like I’m arguing with a middle schooler trying to get any type of solution.
If possible, stay away.
Hello there
I have always been good in writing parodies. I have been thinking of starting a project around it, but I don't know a thing about editing music nor singing
Could anyone suggest a good platform for editing the vocals and making they look like the original songs? Something I could use to temper completely with the vocals, not only the notes, but I also the timing, considering I sing as well as a goat.
I have done some research, but there is 300 million softwares out there and not only am I getting confused, but I also can't seem to find the right one. I thought of good old Auto Tune, but I’m not sure it’s the right way to go. Since it’s a parody, I already have the instrumental part ready, I just need something to correct my voice. Is there something you guys could recommend me?
Thanks in advance for your time
