Kon'nichiwa minna-san,
We would like to inform any and all, who share an interest in learning the art of traditional kamon design, about our new online academy.
In 2019 we began posting tutorials on social media, with regards to the ancient art of Japanese family crests, in an attempt to develop geometric standards for century old patterns.
Unfortunately, posting on social media proved to have its limitations, and to answer the calls of those interested in learning the art of kamon design, we have built a free online academy, as a means for people to download our easy to follow step-by-step tutorials.
Please note that we are creating these tutorials in our spare time, and although we attempt to aim for traditional accuracy, due to subjective design of certain patterns, we may sometimes choose a more geometric approach.
Our academy can be located at the following address, or you can follow us on Instagram to receive instant notification of updates.
Arigatou gozaimashita for your time.
I'm trying to create a mon which used a Japanese honeysuckle as its core image. Does anyone have any examples of that flower being used in mon?
I've come up with a kamon I like, but don't know how to draw it up to the standard of most kamon. How do most people do it?
