MoneroOcean's xmrig compiled from source with deactivated developers donation. It's constantly disconnecting. I'm on r9 7940hs and can't find any drivers for Ubuntu 24.04.

I recently started mining XMR for shits and giggles (aka not for profit) on my personal machine. The machine was overclocked to begin with, but I read somewhere undervolting in the same context as mining. Should you undervolt your CPU? What benefit does it bring besides being slightly cheaper and maybe prolong the life of your chip? Thanks

I travel 80% for work. Instead of leaving all my rigs at home, I'd like bring them with me for monitoring. Other than my laptop, I'm wondering if they have any single-board AMD mini computers with decent hashrate? Or maybe possibly building a mini-ITX am4

I got a 5950x for cpu mining.

I have a 570 auros elit mobo.

64 gb ram DDR4 3200mhz

I am only getting like 9kh on XMR.

Also on verus I am only getting like 25mh.

I am have updated to latest bios which made no difference.

Going to purchase a new mobo as currently my cpu is 90c despite it only drawing 110w. I have the biggrst noctua fan I have ever seen on it and still at 90c.

I set voltage to 1v.

4g DECODING ENABLED.

Unsure the issue but regardless I need a new mobo and want one to get best performance for cpu mining.

So first 24 hours I setup my mining rig on p2pool mini and I managed to find 16 shares. I went to sleep and woke up to find it still on 16 shares even tho hashrate was constantly around ~10kH/s (last share found was an hour before I went to bed), so when I woke up I decide to restart my pc. Following the restart, it has been 10 hours and I have only found 1 share till now.

Does anyone know the reason behind this period of pretty much no shares being found and how often does this happen? Cause I was considering buying 2 more dedicated cpu mining rigs for Monero but now I am worried stuff like this will affect my profit margin cause electricity isn't cheap so its already pretty narrow. Tho I still don't want to waste a day worth of power for 1 share, any advice? Or if I have the wrong idea about 'shares found' translating to profit I'd appreciate someone educating me. I am a newbie.

Also, I am running a full local node. Everything was perfect and as calculated during the first 24 hours then it just stopped finding shares even tho there were no recorded rejected shares on gupax and it was still accepting new shares as well.

This isn't a "which is best" post. Linux is Linux for the most part. This is purely for curiosity sake.

Help me choose an efficient build! I currently pay $0.126 per kWh. What are my options and still be profitable? I really want to look into ARM-based systems because of the efficiency. I also really want to build a dual-Epyc system but that sounds pretty expensive. Is anything more efficient than the X5?

I've been mining Monero for a bit and while I'm never going to make any money at all (I'm using a raspberry pi 💀) I just want to say that I have had so much fun learning about Monero and contributing my bit to secure the network. If you've got an unused device (even an old phone) give Monero mining a go.

So I recently started mining using XMRig on the (pool.supportxmr) and withdrawn some coins about a month ago and sent it to my monero GUI wallet address and never ever thought to look on it just assuming my coins would be there (As any newbie would)

So tonight I decided to check on whether or not it was there, and to my shock my Ballance just read 0.00000000

Now at the risk of sounding dumb now....

Hi everyone, I have a weird problem. Every time I open P2Pool, my WiFi crashes completely. All devices on WiFi lose connection, but Ethernet still working fine.

Yeah for WiFi I mean wireless connection - yes ethernet keeps working smoothly. Absurd.

Here’s my setup:

•	6 mining rigs with AMD Ryzen 7950, all connected via Ethernet to a switch, and then to my router.
•	An additional PC acts as main node, with XMRig Proxy running on it (Windows OS). All miners connect through this proxy.
•	This proxy connects to P2Pool, which then points to my Monero pruned node (fully synced and working).

Everything runs fine until I start P2Pool. As soon as it starts, WiFi in whole house crashes, but Ethernet keeps working. So rigs keep mining, but WiFi drops.

My router is a high-quality Asus gaming model, configured well (DHCP pool maxed, DNS set up), and no other issues except this.

Why would only WiFi drop when I start P2Pool? Any ideas?

Experimented with:

Cooler Master Platinum PSU Wattage at the wall: 200W

I (23 M) started mining Monero this Saturday (26 Oct 2024) using XMRig on my Lenovo laptop, it isn’t new but it does have a Intel core i7 8th gen chip and I thought that would be a nice start considering how some YouTubers were bragging about using their 7+ year old laptops to mine and those videos were posted in 2020-2022, I figured that it wouldn’t be a problem for this laptop either & boy was I wrong. For some context, live in South Africa and the internet speed is decent, I just wrapped up setting up my wallet and when I began I was pushing out 800+ Hash rate which is not great but something, I figured. I let my PC mine while I was trying to access config.json on the c.prompt but I couldn’t figure it out so I gave up on finding it and decided to join a pool instead & that was the very moment my laptop crashed. I left it for sometime and tried restarting it when I returned, only to be greeted by a lit black screen, fans are running, keyboard works but no cursor on the screen. I’ve been trying to figure what happened but all roads lead to a dead GPU, which is strange because I thought Monero uses the CPU but here we are. Where do I go from here? Do I need a new laptop?

I'm due to upgrade my PC anyway, so I'm upgrading with the idea to also play around mining Monero and other CPU-mined coins. This is my parts list at the moment - thoughts?

The only thing I'm really unsure about is the CPU cooling - is there anything better out there? Otherwise I think I've done alright, but happy for suggestions.

So I have a few PC's that are old, and wanted to put them to use in mining. So I managed to start a local node using raspberry pi (monderd/p2pool) and just used xmrig on the other PC's I had and put them on the mini pool. It's seems to be running fine.

Then recently I decided to upgrade one PC internals to a new AMD setup, but it's hash rate is 18k and thought I should try to solo that rig. I was confused on the local node I setup on the raspberry pi since it was flagged for --mini.

I went ahead and just setup another local node on the rebuilt amd rig, without the --mini flag and everything seemed fine, until I noticed the p2pool on the amd rig said block found, but was not awarded. Then I thought it was from the mini pool that the other pc found. Does running 2 local node cause a problem?

I do have 2 wallets to separate the p2pool, and thought I shouldn't have that happen. I couldn't find a step to step guide to run just one local node to provide both main and mini chain.

Any advice from you guy's?

I've always dabbled with mining monero just to have fun with it. I recently moved into a place where rent has utilities ($150/m). I just got internet (1 GB @ $76/m), which is the cheapest plan they offered me. Do you know what I can do? I've considered buying a thread ripper and calling it a day, or is that overdoing it? Should I even consider any of this?

I've put the "MONERO" folder as an exclusion. I've tried a bunch of suggestions from other reddit posts. It says "connected" for a short bit and then says "disconnected". Any suggestions?

How bad would proxmox interfere with mining if any?

Have XMRig running on the laptop described above.

Are there any config.json settings I could tweak that might improve performance?

All of the Mac OS info I'm finding online is now based on M1+ processors.

I've been thinking about throwing together a budget setup just to be involved. I also have cheap electricity for reasons that I won't explain. Is it even worth it though? What sort of "budget" gear would be considered the minimum for it to be worth it?

well i had made a lot money from a few meme coins that went 100x so now i had purchased full mining rigs that are now at my basement mining everyday on monero ocean with about 1.5MH/S - 1.6MH/S it changes sometimes im earning abou $38 everyday and im thinking that this is not enough for the investment i have made in this so should i go solo mining or continue pool mining?
(i paid a lot for the hardware 90% of the earnings i made from the memecoins went there)

I'm looking at a mining rig with a 3960X TR and everything in it looks top notch (honestly probably too good of quality ie 1200 W platinum power, very nice case), but he's asking a reasonable price for a machine that can potentially reach 30k hash.

My only concern is this is the ram

I have XMP profile working on my 7900x3d and the best hash I have gotten now with -30 PBO is 15300k where as I see benches with XMRIG for ~19000 *(unrealistic or basically a lie regarding stability?)*

Even on my board enabling XMP and PBO I went from 10k hash to 15.3 which is a very decent improvement. I am just hoping to squeeze all the advertised performance out of the machine if I get it.

Since XMP / EXPO are basically just a .txt file how do you:

1. Take the values of your EXPO profile and find the proper conversion for using it with a 3960x and convert those values to be optimized for running Monero? Is there a program that can at least find the values for us? Or has someone already figured out the optimal timings for this ram?

Using linux. I have everything running well. Huge pages true. Etc

However, when I use the xmrig wizard it gives me a minimal config file which is fine. However 1gb pages is not active. I am using a ryzen 7950x processor.

When I go to github I see the full config.json file and the area dealing with “1gb-pages”; false However there are a lot of other items in that cpu area of the config file. I do not know exactly how to modify my xmrig wizard made config file to allow 1gb-pages. HELP PLEASE.
