Dedicated to mini/small bullet journals- pocket size, A6, or smaller! Unusual sizes that are smaller than A5 are welcome as well! Find inspiration for on-the-go, every day carry, and generally more portable notebook options. Feel free to discuss related topics like favorite pens, supplies, especially if they too are mini.

Hello,
Say we are in November, 1st and I have an incoming event for the 15th. Do you add it in the furture log (as the name indicates, it could be there) or right into your current month log ?
Thanks.
Hello,
After trying Moleskine pocketsize notebooks, I am planning on going a6.
Need your inspirations, ideas for my new bujo.
Would you go horizontal or vertical?
For example, future logs, month logs etc.
Thank you
Other than Leuchtturm, is there any A6 dot grid or graph notebooks with pre-numbered pages? Would love if it's TR paper, but FP friendly paper at minimum. I know I can just number it myself but it drives me crazy because I always end up losing track, messing it up, having to white out, etc.. I'll do it if I have to but I really prefer pre-numbered. There's A5 options but not a lot of A6 it seems. Any page count is fine, I'll work with whatever.
Is my only option something from Sterling Ink or similar brands (which would cost me over $30 CAD to buy an $11 notebook)?
I had a revelation this morning while working on my bullet journal in my tiny Moleskine notebook (it doesn’t even seem to be A6 size, it’s 9x14 cm). I always have one of these small notebooks with me, yet I’ve always “forced” myself to make something work that I don’t necessarily carry with me. Yesterday, I saw a few examples of A6-sized bullet journals and thought, why not? I think I’ve completely missed what would actually work for me due to trying to mimic others, but I’m a nomad, rarely at a desk. This makes me really want to explore this format.
My larger notebook could then be used for deeper notes and reflections (at least for a while). My Traveler’s Notebook (TN) ended up in the graveyard of tools I’ve tried before realizing the format didn’t suit me. But I loved the concept of the TN. So my question is: Does anyone use a TN in A6? What inserts do you use? The idea behind the TN would be to avoid constantly rewriting volatile collections every time I switch notebooks, for example.
Also, if I stick with a simple A6 notebook, does anyone have brand/model recommendations? I love the quality of Moleskine paper, but 60 pages are far too few for me :)
This is something that I have been doing to notebooks for a long time. Let's say I start a small notebook for work. If the information changes or becomes irrelevant, I will cover it with a sticky note or a sticker with new information. I may staple in a piece of paper with information. I may collage in parts of emails or business cards until the notebook is stuffed. Right now, I have a folio with my old FJJ on the right and a new one on the left. Prior to that, I used a Hello Kitty notebook that currently looks like it belongs in a post apocalyptic movie. Does anyone else repurpose notebooks like this?
it is so beautiful, i love it!
I recently started using a pocket notebook.
I use a very minimalisitic BuJo setup just 3 parts:
Catch-all/ Future log (that starts from the back of the notebook in reverse. Gives me more running space)
Daily to-do list log
Weekly review & plan/ schedule log
That's all. But now thanks to my 'Pocket notebook', I have also consistently started doing 'incremental journaling'.
I note the time
I write down what I got done during that time period.
For example, I'll just be writing at 6 PM, my time, now as 'researching about pocket notebook' and replying :)
I have small notebooks that I have bullet journaled in like 3-4 ,they are flimsy handmade sort, for example like fieldnotes, but they get lost among my A5 hardcover Journals archive (I keep them on a shelf). I wanted to know how you guys store your smaller notebooks, do you keep them separate from bigger journals?
All tips and ideas welcome.
Note taking
Hi all
I'm looking for some advice or opinions on note-taking. As an independent consultant, I'm always on the move between client sites and often need to make notes on the go.
Before going independent, I worked for a regulator in a similar role, where we were required to carry an A6 reporter-style pocketbook to log everything we did and observed. That habit stuck with me, so I still use an A6 pocketbook and follow the bullet journal method for note-taking.
Now, I'm considering transitioning to an iPad with an Apple Pencil, likely using Goodnotes, to make my notes more accessible. However, I find it inconvenient to carry an iPad and take notes while walking around. I'd love to hear your thoughts or experiences with different note-taking systems.
Any recommendations?
Me: only a few
Does anybody else struggle with wanting their journal to be absolutely perfect? For some reason I really struggle with accepting my handwriting, or lines that aren't completely straight. For those of you that experience this too, how do you deal with it?
I have a problem with stickers. It often happens that I think I could use the stickers for something other than journaling and therefore only use them sparingly. How can I change that? Does anyone have experience with this or something similar?
Today I start writing in my new diary bc I can not good write in my other 🥲 (it was a DIN A5 book)
As of today, I'm switching from an A5 to an A6 diary, as it's simply much more convenient, even when traveling
Left calendar is for events, right page has two columns, left side is for necessary expenses and income, right side is for unnecessary (usually stationery) expenses!
Thinking about migrating to a passport once this notebook is completed!
Thank you u/skiedbyanolive for volunteering to help mod this tiny sub! I appreciate any help with engagement so this sub doesn’t accidentally die of neglect 💙
My job recently became a bit more focused and I’ll soon be starting a new job in the same field. Pretty stressed out! I also don’t know how to mod my own sub, so I finally figured out how to allow anyone to post 😂
Sorry for my absence yall! Turns out I didn’t have an email associated with my Reddit account and my password was no bueno after a data breach or something. When I tried to update my password I got locked out of my account for months. I think I helped the user who’s been trying to post a couple other questions that were left unanswered.
I’m enjoying catching up and seeing all your posts and pictures, they’re beautiful and look efficiently useful!
