Extended Meta vs Centurion Meta

Hey so what’s the difference between extended and regular meta?

Also I’ve heard if u get extended with UL it wouldn’t be larger but would have more thickness, isn’t that just centurion meta?

Can u get both fat filled and implants in the scrotum from both of these?

Future of the subreddit (go to r/metoidioplasty instead!)

Hey all, the original r/metoidioplasty subreddit is back up, and this space was only intended to be a temporary replacement until that one could be reclaimed. As a result, sometime within the next day or so, this subreddit will be locked to any new posts or comments, and merely serve to direct people towards r/metoidioplasty.

The mod team at r/metoidioplasty is the same as here, and all rules detailed here are now in effect over there.

Additionally, we are going to start work on a metoidioplasty faq/wiki, to act as a meta 101 and help cut down on repetitive questions. That'll go up sometime in the next couple weeks, and will cover topics such as pumping, scrotoplasty, common complications, surgeons, and more.

anyone have a mental health dip after surgery?

I had simple meta w/ lift, no implants/UL, no vnectomy on 2/28 with Santucci in Austin TX. surgery went great. no major complications other than being in pain and swelling on the left side not really going away, looks like it might be a seroma even with all the icing I'm doing.

but my mental health has completely tanked since surgery. I haven't really been able to leave the hotel room. husband had to help me use the bathroom for 4 days after surgery because of the dressing (too zonked out on pain meds/anesthesia to remember any of it) - other than that he's been nothing but wonderful.

just want to know that I'm not as alone as I felt after my hysterectomy in 2017, or if anyone has tips/tricks to help the time pass a little faster, I'd appreciate it. I know surgery was the right move but didn't realize not being ambulatory would be this difficult, I guess.

New technique for SRS in Brazil

Hello everyone!

Total corpora mobilization (TCM) is a new technique created by the brazilian urologist Dr. Ubirajara Barroso Jr. that is used for penile reconstruction in cases of micropenis and penile amputation. It has been done mostly on cisgender individuals, but it was also performed with one trans man. The procedure gives more lengh and girth. His final lengh was 3”, with UL and erections. No major complications associated. It looks pretty promising to me!

PS: English is not my native language, so sorry if I used any incorrect word.

UL repair #4 in the morning

Tomorrow I’ll be getting my UL fixed for the 4th time- feeling much better about this one than the last couple. We managed to do a mock up with just stitches as a proof of concept back in November and since that worked, the full fix should work the same. I had a call with my surgeon a couple weeks ago to go over the game plan and he’s been thinking about this one a lot- he booked extra OR time so he’s not rushed and can be strategic about where stitches go. We talked about things that could potentially be done to maximize my chances of healing right too like adding in non-absorbable stitches to take the load off the dissolving ones while it heals. So going in with a lot less stress than I was a couple months ago knowing he’s confident in this fix. Worst-case I come out of it with what I have now in the event of a failure. Not what I want, but I can find ways to make it work if I have to.

I’ll be coming out of this with an SP for the 5th time for at least 6 weeks- not stoked on that but it has to happen. I know what to expect and how to make it suck as little as it can (which is still a lot unfortunately…) so that helps. The little hacks I’ve gained through experience do help. The interim time between surgery and pee trial will be high in anxiety since I won’t know if it works until then…

So I have a question that I’m sure is dumb and has been answered but here we go…

What is the difference between Meta and extended Meta? Does the extended use extra tissue to create a longer penis? I am looking into getting this procedure so just trying to figure out the difference since I have seen both terms used in this sub… thanks in advance for the responses!

Stretching for scrotoplasty?

I'm probably a few years out from doing this, but does anybody have experience with stretching the labia majora to create more tissue for scrotoplasty? I had a simple release over a year ago and I've decided balls would be nice to have. I have zero interest in a vaginectomy, so I'd like to know what I can do to keep things as loose as possible.

Dr. Nikolavsky

Hi folks, has anyone had a meta with Dr. Nikolavsky in Syracuse, or have any information about this surgeon? I am considering using him, but I can’t find much info on him. I know he started offering meta surgery a few years back, but I’m not sure how many he has actually performed.

Can we get a thread clinic info/knowledge for extended meta?

Since the old sub went down there seems to be (proprtionately) a massive uptick in posts of extended meta. I'd like to pursue this one day and I'd love to know what my options are. I live in Europe and afaik the only surgeon here who does it is Özer in NL, and it seems like she doesn't accept out-of-country patients. Would love any more info, on clinics, costs, rumors of future plans etc.

T on/off before meta? ill advised?

I've been on T for over 2 years and am on the fence about meta. Ideally I would like to get a simple meta, no UL- mostly for aesthetics/having a freed up penis but I'm still weighing the cost/benefit for my situation, plus I need to save up money anyway...

I've been considering pausing T for a bit. I think I'm hitting a point where I don't think I'm getting any further changes and my life in general is very Full On so it would be one less thing to worry about if I stopped for a bit. I pass 99% of the time in my daily life but even if I didn't I'm more of an androgynous type than binary male so it's whatever. It would probably be 2-3+ years before I'm in a stable enough situation to seriously pursue meta. I would probably restart T again in the future. I think I just need a break for 3-6 months but idk.

Has anyone been on/off T and still gotten meta? Or do you know anybody who went this route? Looking for any advice/experiences or opinions. Thanks.

Looking for surgeons in WI/IL

Hi all! I'm so glad to have found this sub and to see so many ppl who are very generous in sharing results and photos! Makes me very excited to pursue meta.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experiences with surgeons that do regular or extended meta in WI or IL in the US. I know of Schecter in Chicago but I only know of folks that have had top surgery with him.

One other general question. I've been on T about 7 years not counting the 9-12 months of pursuing pregnancy and being pregnant. I'm back on now and I just wonder if I would still be looking at waiting a year before having bottom surgery. Does this depend on the provider? Thanks!

Testicular Implants Only?

I asked this one earlier somewhere else, but I just thought someone here might know.

I'm interested in getting small implants, but without any other surgery, but I can't seem to find information on if that's possible. I do have more details in the last post I made.

I just want implants alone. Is this something they can do? Who could I contact to ask about it?

Is it possible to get UL as a secondary procedure?

I really like the way extended meta looks, but I also really want to be able to pee through my dick. I’ve noticed that a lot of meta with UL has more shrinkage than without UL, and it seems to be caused by the scar tissue? So would it be possible to save the precious length by having UL done as a second stage, and having a little tube inside your dick for where your urethra will be beforehand?

so I'm a bit scared I'm not sure if I should contact my doctor about this right now I'm supposed to be using my catheter bag but it's been wanting to go through my urethra. I'm worried that I'm going to need another surgery...

Does voiding get easier?

I’m 3 weeks post meta with UL. I can void, but the stream is very small and it takes some effort. I assume that as things heal and become less swollen this will relax a bit. But I’m wondering if anyone else has experience this.

I asked the follow up doctor (my surgeons partner) and he did not seem concerned. (Though he was rather dismissive in general and I’m not a fan of the service I received from him.)

Meta w/ UL Next Week

I'm awake and anxious because tomorrow night, I leave to drive down to Austin for my pre-op appointment Friday morning. Then next Tuesday I'll have the surgery.

My surgeon is Dr. Santucci at the Crane Center. I am getting metoidioplasty with urethral lengthening, without a vaginectomy, and reducing my pubic mons and labia majora along with some scar tissue from an unrelated condition.

I'm hoping for some words of comfort or validation or even random post-op advice.

Pronouns: they/them

Post op meta follow up

Tips.

  1. empty your bladder completely before the appointment to take the sp cath out. (Makes sense. But no one mentioned it and it would have been helpful)

  2. bring pads and 2in medical tape. Cover the hole with pad and tap the edges.

The hole may leak. A lot. And pads are better then the gauze the doctor tells you to use. Because it has the moister barrier between you and your clothes.

Recap old posts?

I had kinda documented my surgery recovery as well as photos of the healing progress in the old subreddit and a while ago I realized that that’s all gone, then found this new subreddit, so I just wanted to ask if anyone’s interested, I could make a new post summarizing my recovery along with photos but since kinda a lot happened it would take me some time to write everything down as best as I can remember, so I thought I’d ask first if people are generally interested in a post like that. My old posts weren’t super popular but quite average I’d say.

My surgeon was Dr. Markovsky in Lubos Klinik München and my surgery was almost a year ago but I had some complications and an emergency surgery.

So I’d appreciate quick feedback and if there’s a few people who would benefit from my post I’m gonna take my time to recapitulate how things went ^^

TL;DR should I post what I had posted in the old subreddit?

vent Full meta need advice

I'm in a very dark headspace right now.. I want this surgery for a very long time.. I'm having some complications but maybe it's my anxiety.. my surgeon thinks I have a small opening because I have some bladder leak out when I pee out of my scrotum they don't think it's a fistula. But they said if it is worst case scenario I'd have a catheter bag for 4 months.. I'm very discouraged. It was very hopeful for this surgery.im 3 weeks post op. Everything else is going fine besides a UTI.. My stream was really strong. She doesn't think I'm going to need to go in for another surgery but she says she doesn't know because she hasn't looked at me yet either. I'm looking for someone to talk to I'm really scared about this whole process.

Surgeons Who Perform Non-Standard Meta?

Hello folks! I am looking for a surgeon who is willing and able to perform meta with complex/VY scrotoplasty, no UL, no v-nectomy. The original surgeon I consulted won't perform this combination of surgeries. If anyone knows of any surgeons who do, please let me know. TIA

Stopped using T, will it affect post-op penis?

Hey guys,

As some of you might already know, in December 2022 I got surgery (extended meta). In June 2022 I stopped using T because of hair loss, which I really didn't want to worsen. My surgeon said that not being on T anymore wouldn't affect the results nor the post-op penis in the long run. But, now I'm two months post-op, I'm not sure about that anymore. I'm afraid my penis will "shrink" over time due to the lack of testosterone. I know the head of the penis wouldn't actually get smaller (I guess), but it's more that I'm worried about the firmness and the penis' skin. I mean, estrogen (which I naturally produce) will affect the look of someones genitals, right??

So, my question is, are there people here who have experienced shrinking of their (post-op) peens because of quitting using testosterone?
