Hi everyone! I was planning to extend my drivers license to A and buy a motorcycle, currently i have the B license and in Italy i'm only required to pass a driving exam with It, even being able to avoid driving schools by talking directly with the motorization office.
The only info i found here Is to extend from B to A2, and that still requires both a theory and practical exam, the A license Is a whole theory and exam course with more hours mandatory and no "discounts" from having my B license.
Is that really the only way? Or like in Italy it's Just driving schools not telling you you can actually do It yourself if you talk with the offices directly?
If that Is the only way, usually how much should i expect to pay with a driving school to get my new license?
As in the rest of the elections, is it mandatory to vote in the European Elections?
Thanks!
I just came back from the city centre , it looks to me the city was pretty empty compared to the last few years( during the marathon) What do you think
Hi guys. I'm relatively new in luxembourg and I thinking of buying a used car from Germany costing under €4,000.
I did see the older posts but i still had some questions 😔 I want to understand the costs around buying a used car from another country, costs such as changing the name, registration, insurance. Are the registration costs small like under €100 or something like close to €1,000? And I assume insurance will be my largest expense, is it comparable to other European countries or is it more expensive?
Also can I drive it back to Luxembourg and then register and get insurance or will I need to get it registered and insurance first? Sorry if this is a stupid question 🙏
Any experience or information would be really helpful.
I’ve seen the posts from yesterday re the storm and I’d love to be able to see them tonight. Is anybody on the know aware of where I can take my family to see the spectacle
Hi 👋, Theres no info online about whether the deutshland ticket works for the Luxembourg to saarbrucken bus. Anyone know if it works. Thanks 🤩
Hello
I'm living next to a restaurant that established itself last year. This year they seem to have a new crew that started putting out really loud music.
What are the regulations applicable for the maximum level of noise allowed from a restaurant? I don't mind the noise of people talking, that's just agreeable white noise, but the music is really grating especially if it's played for hours and hours on end.
Of course, I want to talk to them amicably, to ask them to turn it down. I just want to know where I stand if they don't agree.
I am on vacation in Luxembourg, and I am wondering where to go to explore a Eurovision party tonight. Where is it going down?
Hey there,
I don't have a bib, but with the nice weather, I feel like running the half-marathon, or at least part of it.
Do you think it's OK to run along without a bib? I'm aware I won't be able to stop at refreshment areas.
Cheers.
Any public viewing planned for the final tonight? I did not find anything online
Title says it all tbh, I am just very confused about the process of how one buys a used car from a private person? Any help is good
Hello,
We are planning an insulation of a few rooms in an old house of 90th from the inside (exterior insulation is not an option), as currently there is no insulation in one of the rooms at all and it is getting cold in winter.
What would be the best strategy to do it, considering climate in Luxembourg? I'm hearing multiple opinions and all of them differ, starting from fiber to stone wool insulation to wood fiber boards, using a vapor barrier vs not using it, with an air layer between, wood vs metallic frame (to put insulation blocks in between), etc.
What are best practices considering the inside insulation of exterior walls in the region? Knowing that the temperature goes below zero in winter, as well as high humidity levels.
I would like to ensure the house stays warm as well as no condensation occurs on the walls or inside the insulation level.
Thank you for any ideas!
P.S. Just to be clear, in the title I say "interior walls", but I mean "inside part of of exterior walls"
Smartwielen dropped for the election of the European Parliament. To get a good laugh I decided to read the nonsense Thein and co wrote. Their written response on the question if Luxembourgish sould be officially recognized by the EU includes 5 errors. Incredible.
There was a huge solar storm and this is directly at North.
Forecast shows indeed a low chance of seeing it : https://www.spaceweatherlive.com/fr.html
I moved to Luxembourg recently and I have difficulty to make friends since mostly people here want to drink and club. I don’t drink neither smoke or club so it’s hard to find friends even using dating apps not useful. Any idea how to meet people have similar lifestyle? Thanks
Hello, All, Just relocated to Lux and need to find someone who can do a "standard/simple" buzz cut with two guards/lengths. Quick web searches and looking in barber/salon windows in the city showed the minimum "men's haircut" as €35+. That seems a bit pricey for a 10min cut of (relatively) low effort for the stylist/barber. I'm curious if there is any location that will do a buzz cut for €20 or less. Just the cut; not a shave, wash, or anything else.
*If this is not viable and I need to accept €35+ as the new norm, let me know. I don't want to be cling to my old norms if they don't apply in Lux.
Thank you, in advance!
Hi there just wondering if anyone knows of any Luxembourg restaurants in USA or Canada. Thanks.
What is the 80% of the current social insertion income which require for the student visa? Acccording to my research it shows as 1200 EUR but I think data is outdated. Realistically what would be the average living cost for an international student?
Appreciate any info on this.

Hi everyone, quick context I have been looking for work for a bit and it’s been pretty okay so far, however I opened my bank account today to find that they had only sent me 700 euro, I haven’t done anything wrong, haven’t gotten an email or a letter saying I messed up and that my indemnity was fully removed or I lost a week, which even if it was I don’t think I’d only have 700 euro in both cases, just weird and wanted to ask if anyone knows something? Tryna pay for food frfr🥲
Hello everyone, someone stole my iPhone at Hamilius yesterday and I have been tracking it from my watch. The location first showed that shady street near Gare and then Gare station and now it's in Metz. I went to the police, showed the Gare location, and they went for a patrol but said too many people were there. I can see that the phone has been in the same exact location for the past 10 hours. I feel the police really won't help. Any suggestions on what can be done?
I have very cherished photos, important personal files and my home country's sim in it, which I don't want to lose. Can someone please give some suggestions?
Dear collective Reddit brain,
I am shipping parcels regularly to Germany and using POST the costs are too damn high (insert meme here).
Any of you does the same and has found a convenient way to lower the prices?
I was thinking an reverse PackUp-Import service or using a competitor of POST but either I don't find good options, they don't exist or they don't ship to Germany.
Thanks for your time!
