Me 3 years ago with my beard long and now shorter.

After my last Trim slip (took a small chunk out of the front of my beard)

The ends were looking wispy. I was advised on here to stop trimming so much so have decided every 3-4 months to just "skim trim" the bottom of the beard and take about a cm to half an inch off. Leave the sides(apart from a no.3 guard on my sideburns, to blend onto my bald head)

My eventual goal is to try and get to a navel/stomach length beard with a decent braid-able beard. I'm just wondering if this trimming plan is okay maintenance wise and if you guys and gals have any tips or advice?

My dad was ex military and was always clean shaven, whilst I know he could've grown an insane beard. (His 5 o clock shadow is most guys 2 weeks growth, for reference. We always joked a genuine gorilla for a father. More hair on his shoulder blades than most guys have on their chest) so obviously circumstances I cant ask him for beard advice. Hence the beauty of the Internet and reddit.

My overall question would be having grown my beard for a good 15 months now with a couple of good 1 inch long trims over the time. Is a "skim trim" for the wispy bottom every 4 months ish a good idea to get a decent long beard. I'd much rather a slower overall growth and "solid"/full beard look than longer length that looks "thin" (I hope that makes sense)

I'm just wondering if tying the beard would help with the wispyness/wispy ends matter and for any general advice from you yeard plus guys out there regarding continuing growth/maintenence.

Sorry for all the posts, But the last posts I've had no answers just people offending me because of my tattoos, I have a brain injury and I was very impulsive when I got them and I'm hoping to get them removed. I'm wondering if these patches will fill in if I keep growing it or should I shave it off

I do. The benefits:

* Cheaper
* Greater quantity
* Better for your beard

I worked out that I was getting roughly around **8x more** oil for only about **£6 more** per purchase:

* 120ml of Jojoba oil
* \+ 120ml of Castor oil
* = 240ml, in total
* For only about £16

Instead of what I was spending -- £10 on 30ml bottles from the supermarket.

And combining just the natural, cold-pressed oils -- lacking any of the crap chemicals in the shop-bought ones -- is healthier for the beard.

I also prefer to be unperfumed so I do not add any essential oils, thus making it cheaper.

I bought mine off Amazon around (I think) the end of summer last year, and have only just gone past the halfway point on each bottle.

Apparently, you can do it with just one carrier oil (Jojoba, Castor, etc); some people do it with 3, 4, 5...

30 years of Marriage

I've had a long beard for many years and I don't plan on cutting it. Ever.

Fresh out the shower

Had a moment of weakness last night and killed the giant Walrus stache but it honestly feels so much better.

Queer Beard here. Just had a beard tidy up, with JUST THE VERY EDGES taken off. And hair done too.

I always keep going back and forth on shortening my beard. The times I do I hate it so I just let it go.

Long beard for life 🤣

It’s been about a month but I also got a haircut and well a slight trim on the sides

Getting there. Another year or two. 

Been ill with covid for a week, first time, mild case, but my beard seems to be thriving. Haven’t really done much but dry and lightly brush it.

Under the weather, but the beard is taking care of itself

Hey guys needing some advice, to cut a long story short I was going through my normal routine of shaving my head and once every month/6 weeks. I fade my sideburns down to blend into my bald head.

After happily fading my sideburns in my daughter ran into the bathroom calling me. I turn to check she's alright and in doing so forgot my clippers were still plugged in and have taken a good chunk out of the front of my beard. Below soul patch/chin area.

Now before going into a mass trimming panic and trying to cut it down to even it out I thought I'd check on here.

For context I recently hit my yeard and have been pushing towards growing my beard even longer. (Eventual goal is to get a decent loose braid) current length (ignoring the missing section) is 7 and a half inches from my bottom lip.

Should I trim my beard back to the shorter length to have it all even (around 5 inches) or just allow this missing chunk at the front to grow back in? I feel like there's visibly a massive section missing at the front of my beard but am wondering if it's more noticeable to me than everyone else?

Any feedback/advice would be greatly appreciated guys!
