I already purchased Lingodeer's one-time payment lifetime subscription premium (from a few years back it was on sale). The other learning apps like DuChinese, Chineasy, HelloChinese, are they worth also paying for, or switching to from Lingodeer altogether?
Are any other apps really that much better or is Lingodeer good enough that would it be most prudent to keep that and supplement with free resources/manual study and research?
Another option would be not spending more now and instead paying for a tutor later.
Also keep in mind it looks like DuChinese will have some kind of black friday discount in a few days.
Hey guys. Hope everything is going well with everyone. My lifelong dream is to learn mandarin. Any good courses to learn ?
Hi everyone,
I’m posting on behalf of a colleague who’s interested in a language exchange! They’re a native English speaker eager to improve their Mandarin and would be happy to help you with English conversation in return. The focus will be on conversational skills rather than grammar, so if you’re looking to boost your English fluency, this could be a great fit.
All sessions will be held online, and they’re flexible with platforms—Zoom, Skype, or WeChat are all options.
If you’re interested in a language exchange like this, feel free to reach out, and I’ll be happy to connect you both!
Thanks!
Curious about the online shopping scene in China. I am thinking about starting my own business online. Please let me know if you have any resources. Thanks~
I'm looking for the video / movie that goes with the Chinese language textbook series Journeys to Chinese Proficiency (https://vistahigherlearning.com/chn25.html)
ive been learning mandarin in school for like 3 years now (albeit very slowly), and ive just realized how much my tones suck. all of my chinese teachers never taught me how to differentiate and pronounce the tones, so i just read the pinyin and thought it was that simple. my tones are all over the place, and i also can’t hear them in speech. i already know quite a lot of words, and i can speak in full sentences, but i feel like there’s no point if i can’t even pronounce the tones correctly. ive searched online how to learn them, but all the videos are targeted for complete beginners. i really don’t want to go back and relearn every word i know, so does anybody know how to fix this?
Hi I plan on learning all these 3 languages and I for sure know how hard they are. So I wanted to ask if it makes it easier for me if I learn them in a specific order. Also I wanted to ask with what it would be best to learn those three languages. I already speak German, French and English but I learned all of those at school and never learned a language in my free time and my parents won't pay for courses either I guess.

Should I Use Stardew Valley or Similar Games to Learn Chinese?
Hey everyone!
I’ve been learning Chinese for a while now, and I’m currently at 448 characters read over 10 times, 770 characters read less than 10 times, 891 words less than 10 times, and 673 words read more than 10 times on Du Chinese.
I was thinking about using Stardew Valley or a similar game to help improve my reading skills, but I’m not sure how effective it would be. Have any of you tried using video games as a language-learning tool, specifically for Chinese? If so, did it help? How did you go about using the game as a learning resource?
Also, I’m looking for OCR screen translation software similar to Pleco, but something that works on a laptop. I’ve heard of a few options but am unsure which ones are reliable and effective for translating in-game text or other content on screen. Any recommendations?
Thanks for any advice!
