Lancashire Landing Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery located on the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey. 1237 Commonwealth servicemen are commemorated in the cemetery. The narrow Gallipoli peninsula has many War Grave Cemeteries but one of them is mostly Lancashire men or men from North of the UK.

Hi all, looking for some advice on places to move to. I am in the midst of obtaining a job located in Nelson (will be hybrid so don't need to travel that often to the office) so i am looking for somewhere that would be suited to someone like myself (41yr old single professional) that's situated with decent commutes to Nelson and Manchester (for the bigger events etc.). I've never been that way so completely blind - will be renting at first (doesn't matter on budget at this point)
Hi all,
New posting here. Has anyone got experience with BRSK broadband? I wanted to check how reliable it is? Currently with Virgin and whilst they're good, I'm getting charged an arm and leg
If you work from home and have BRSK, I'm particularly interested to hear your thoughts please!
Thanks in advance
On the hunt for my first property and after a year of searching I've expanded my search and come up with Rawtenstall.
Ive seen a mixed bag of thoughts online. Some folk say they are happy to escape, some say it's great for families. But how about for single folk? I'm a man, early 30s, enjoys the outdoors and the area looks to be a great spot for foodies, I'm wondering if this area is better for couples and families?
Im from Bolton originally and the areas I like around here include rivington, horwich and Chorley old road. I like the idea of bars and restaurants being on my doorstep but houses that I like in those areas keep going to a price war. Rawtenstall seems to offer a lot of what I want but I'm wondering what's the catch? The houses available in the area are really stunning.
Whilst Bolton has nice parts, its town centre recovery still seems decades away and many surrounding areas continue to decline. What's peoples thoughts on Rawtenstall. I welcome all opinions but would love to hear from people in a similar place in their life

Hi, looking to buy a house in the cleveleys area or even the surrounding areas if recommended to be better. Me and my partner moving with 3 dogs and my mother so hoping to buy a 2 bedroom house or bungalow around the cleveleys area but feeling a bit panicked after hearing it’s difficult to get jobs, to be able to get a doctors appointment ect.. my partner works in care and I’ve had a look and it does seem that there are a lot of care jobs available. We would like something a little bit out the way of the busier areas but still be able to travel into areas that have the supermarkets like Asda. We live north of Manchester in bury at the moment and don’t feel very safe in the area due to the amount of crime so again looking for somewhere we feel safe ( I know every place has its good and bad) Looking for recommendations on areas to look for housing my budget is 200k Any advice or options please comment as would love to know from people who live/ lived around there x Thank you

Does anybody know what’s happening in Lancaster this evening? Yes it’s a city and there’s sirens but there’s been a noticeable increase this evening. As in one every 10-15 minutes.

Winter is coming and with bonfire night just a month an a half away I'm hankering to make some really good Parkin.
Trouble is, all the recipes I try are not quite right. They call for too much golden syrup and not enough treacle. But I don't know what a _good_ Parkin recipe looks like.
I remember my grandma's parkin, 20+ years ago now, being very dark, treacle-y and sticky, with a nice punch of ginger and spices and a good solid oatmeal heft to it.
Does anyone have a recipe for a good, sticky, dark Parkin? It may be that what my grandma made was "Yorkshire" Parkin vs. "Lancashire" Parkin; I don't know. I just know that I miss it a great deal and that I'm up to do some experimental baking.
