Looking at houses as first time buyer. Grew up in the Ribble Valley but mostly unaffordable for me and definitely get better value property wise elsewhere. I could give some criteria's but generally just interested in people's opinions/experiences!
Thanks!
I never realised how much land Lancashire lost in 1974. I believe we should mount an offensive, retake Liverpool and Manchester, then push the border north past Carlisle and East just before Bradford (who wants that)
What I'm looking for is cultural diiversity, has fun activities to do, and good doggy day care/walking network. Work sites: Lancaster and Barrow.
I have heard Lancaster is quite safe. How does Preston fare on that front?
Hi everybody, i’m just wondering where people’s favourite places are to grab a bite? I do like small quiet cafes or restaurants- hidden gems, and i’m easy with any cuisine. Just looking for a nice place to eat, any cuisine. Most places dont come up on google/google maps. I am based in Blalcburn but as long as it’s accessible by train/ bus then im happy. Thank you all in advance.
That was quite a pea souper last night, driving from Ossy back to Clitheroe. Really thick and dense in places.
Hi lived in Burnley about a year, but circumstances mean I’m looking to move Can anyone give me the lowdown On the following places
Oswaldthistle Darwen Accrington Padiham
Or anywhere else that’s decent round the rawtenstall area, well a 10/15 mile radius.
Many thanks
To the good people of Lancashire,

Hi, I'm hoping to start taking out a colleague and wondering if anyone's any ideas of "things to do". She seems laid back in regards of what to do but kinda wondering if there's any recommended places of kinda unique things to do. Looking for things reasonably local but general ideas of basic stuff she "likes" castles(medieval history....torture ha....) volunteering, comedy, city visits, random missing person type programmes, murder mystery things.
Why the fuck has Uni of Bolton changed to Uni of Greater Manchester when there are loads of universities in Manchester?
I was walking down Thurnham street at 1.30 AM just by the Auction Mart Car Park. A fat Eastern European man in a tracksuit with a hoody up asked me to borrow my phone to make a phone call because the credit on his flip phone has run out. I said “I left my phone at home sorry” and he said “oh okay” and walked off towards a white van parked in front of the barriers to get into the Auction Mart car park. He got in the left side and it drove off. I then went to Maccies and was sat on a stool at the table overlooking the high street ordering my food with my phone clearly visible. I look up and see the same guy on his flip phone making a call, and a teenager who I’m assuming drove the van gesticulating at my phone and laughing. The whole situation has made me giggle but I definitely took a different route home to the way they were walking 😂. Beware of this scam.
Hello all. I will be moving to Morecambe for work in the new year and so I’m wondering which neighbourhoods I could live in and which ones to avoid. Considering it as part of a range of options as the work in located on the White Lund estate.
I know we have a tonne of charity shops, but I’d love to find a warehouse-scale place I can spend an age digging through stuff. Or possibly just somewhere with a run of shops (like Lytham has).
Hey everyone!
I just moved to Lancaster, UK, for an exciting new job, and I’m on the lookout for friendly faces and fun activities! 🏙️✨
As a newcomer, I’m finding it a bit challenging to connect with people and discover all that this charming town has to offer. I love exploring new places, trying out local cafes, restaurants, and participating in community events, but I could really use some guidance.
If you're local or just looking to meet someone new, I’d love to grab a coffee, explore the city together, or even check out any hidden gems you recommend! Whether it’s a stroll around the park, a visit to a museum, or just hanging out, I’m eager to make new friends and create some great memories.
Let’s discover Lancaster together! Drop a comment or message me if you’re interested. Looking forward to hearing from you! 😊
Cheers!
This was sent to me by a family member, taken about 46 years ago. I want to know the precise location of it, hoping the tall church(?) can help pin point it. North Manchester/Lancashire area.
What has been everyone else’s experience with the Lancaster crackheads? I usually find them docile but last night I went for a walk to Flames at 3am and was getting abuse yelled at me by some obviously intoxicated/drugged up bald crackhead whilst I was just trying to walk past. Do they really have nothing better to do at 3am on a Friday morning?
The A683 Kirkby Lonsdale to Caton is in my opinion, one of the most dangerous roads in Lancashire. Although there are average speed cameras, the road layout and how many turns and winds the road has is extremely dangerous, in the last month, a 51-year-old collided with a car causing him to lose his life, I personally think the entire road should be remade to fit the volume of traffic and keep it safe so nobody else looses their life on this dangerous road
Can anyone recommend a good book on the Witches. Either fiction or nonfiction. It's a gift for my niece who made her first visit to the Ribble Valley recently and was intrigued by seeing Pendle and hearing about the witches.
