I saw some articles talking about how the song was inspired by a beomgyu x yeonjun fanfiction named "Mad Summer" (you can google it if you want, there's numerous articles)
they were talking about how there are many thematic similarities in the story and the song, and was wondering what the fanfic is essentially about? it's written in korean so i don't really understand it.
if anyone has read the fanfic previously, please enlighten me (it's supposedly very popular in korea and was also published as a book with the names changed). i really wanna know just how similar it is and what the theme is
hi hi, i recently discovered QWER and i absolutely LOVE their sound, does anyone have any other groups similar to them? i know they have a jpop inspired sound so I'll definitely check more of it out.
Costumes and hairstyles aside, the music back then, are cool also! So this episode featured Kim Jong Kook and Rain. Just sharing so newer generations will have some ideas about the music and KPop idols before their current biases.
Show Description:
Launched on March 23, 2020, 20th Century Hit Song is an innovative music chart show that revisits and reinterprets classic K-Pop programs from KBS. This "newtro" concept caters to the public's love for retro-inspired pop music while highlighting the rich history of Korean pop. The show evokes nostalgia for Generation X and piques the curiosity of Generation MZ with its selection of hit songs from the past. Acting as a time machine, it reconstructs memorable tracks that reflect the styles and trends of their eras. By bridging the gap between the trendsetting youth of the 20th century and today's generation, 20th Century Hit Song creates a unique space for both to connect and share their passion for music.

The title tracks were overshadowed by the B-side tracks. Turns out these were not the title tracks all along ㅠㅇㅠ.

i’m so sorry i really didn’t know i had this many favorites
I've been working on this tool so people can learn Kpop lyrics easily.
Check out APT lyrics and let me know how I can improve it.
For fun I decided to calculate the average number of members in the best-performing Kpop groups recently.
For boy groups, I used BTS, SKZ, Exo, Bigbang, Seventeen, Got7, TXT, Super Junior, NCT 127, NCT Dream, Enhypen, and Shinee as reference.
For girl groups, I used Blackpink, Twice, Itzy, (G)I-DLE, RV, Aespa, Mamamoo, SNSD, Newjeans, Gfriend, and IVE.
I chose these groups based on various factors such as total album sales, mv views, wins, etc.
The boy group average ended up being 7.66, meaning around 7-8 members is probably the ideal.
The girl group average was 5.73, meaning 5-6 members is the ideal. Though, it’s probably best to stick to 5 if you believe in the 6 member curse.
What can we conclude from this data? Women bad (a heavy /j here).
Feel free to make any other actually valuable conclusions from this info.
Hey everyone, and welcome to the nomination round for the 1st Annual K-Poppers Awards, 2024 Edition! :)
I just thought that with awards season coming up, this would be something fun to do together as a community :) I do polls like this for various other sub-reddits, and I just find polls, data, and award shows super fun, so I'd love to have you participate!
This specific poll is strictly for nominating your personal choices for each category. The most nominated/mentioned responses for each category will be tallied and then put into the actual "Voting Round" in a follow-up poll.
The nominations will take longer for you than the follow-up Voting Round where you just pick your winner, so fill this out when you have some spare time to waste! :)
Don't worry, there's no personal data collection whatsoever!
Considering various award shows like MAMA, The Grammys, VMAs, etc., and with how frequent K-Pop releases are I think we're going to go with a Top 12 for the "daesangs" (Album, Song, and Artist of the Year), and a Top 8 for the remaining categories. However, we can adjust the numbers if you guys think we should have more or less in any specific categories.
The eligibility period for your nominations is from November 3rd, 2023 to October 25th, 2024 unless otherwise stated.
Finally, just as a small note, I decided to phrase everything as "Favorite" instead of "Best" just to try to avoid conflict regarding whether something really is the "best" due to views, music show results, streams, etc. By making everything "favorite", it makes it so that everything is just down to personal preference without having to argue about metrics
If you read all of this, I love you, and you can ignore the 3 notes in the beginning of the poll and just get to nominating! I can't wait to see how this turns out! :)
If you see any errors or have any questions, just leave a comment here!
A lot of idol actors/actresses get bad reps for not being to act or being too focused on their idol image, but who are some that you feel have really improved? For me it would be:
Sungjae (BTOB): He wasn’t even bad from the start, and he just keeps getting better and better with each project. He’s always a joy to watch and he really just keeps improving.
Siwan (ZE:A): Again he‘s always been a decent actor, but what really opened my eyes were his villain roles. I watched The King In Love and Strangers From Hell back to back and the difference between his characters was so shocking and I was so impressed.
Bona (Wjsn): She’s gotten a lot better than when she first started out, and I think Pyramid Game really solidified that for me. I hope she continues getting better because she’s really not half bad and with the way Wjsn is going…
Yeonwoo (Momoland): I didn’t like her earlier roles, especially not Cheat On Me If You Can, but I was so surprised at how well she did in The Golden Spoon. She keeps improving more and more with each project, and I really enjoyed her role in Bitter Sweet Hell. It’s not easy to pull off villain roles, but she really shocked me with how natural her acting felt.
Honorable mention Park Jihoon (Wanna One) simply because I haven’t seen enough of his projects yet but already have a great impression of his acting. I loved him in Love Revolution and am about to start Weak Hero Class 1 just to see him.
Hi everybody!
I thought it would be fun to do something like this. So, Under this post you can name a group and people can comment the first song that comes to mind from that group!
I'm talking MVs like T-Ara's Day by DAY, Davichi's Please Don't go, or 2ne1's Go Away. I'm not saying that groups don't do them anymore (look at Kiss of Life with their solos) but I feel like they're not made as much anymore.
If ya'll know what I'm talking about and wanna share any of your faves like these, please do.
For me, I gotta say that Day by Day by T-Ara had one of the best and most creative storyline
So far, I’m overly obsessed with Swan(Prod. Czaer) by Miyeon(a stage fighter song) and Open Always Wins by TXT!
We can come back here once Spotify drops it to check whether we made the right guess or not :)
My daughter wants to get into Lomo printing for artistic purposes and freebies. What printer are you using and how happy are you with it? Im looking at the Epson Ecotank line. The new creative models are pushing 700+ in price which seems kinda crazy but the quality looks amazing. For this purpose is there any other quality solutions? Ideally a tanked printer would be best... just not sure how the generic Eco tanks handle photo work.
I’ve heard in Tank by Nmixx, See That, Itzy’s Gold, Step Back by GOT the Beat, and a few others I forgot about. I just keep hearing it and don’t know where it’s from.
One of our friends is managing this board, we told her to remove Park Songyee from the board since she was never a trainee under cube entertainment (same with Bae Woorim and Aoki Yuka) yet she refuses to, we haven't found any photos of Park Dasom or Park Naeyoung + we don't know if Kim Jian is still under cube or not and she told me to just post it, we had Lee Younseo on the board WEEKS before we found out she left and were too lazy to remove her so we just put "LEFT" on top of her picture
I follow bg’s mostly and I am excited and waiting for these comebacks:
NCT Dream
Way V
TXT
Enhypen
But wanted to know who else is having a comeback that you guys are excited for?!
UPDATE: here is the playlist so far
If You Hate These Songs You Hate Fun

Hey K-pop fans! 👋
I’ve been toying with the idea of what a fresh, new K-pop award show could look like—something that celebrates the diverse talents and unique aspects of the K-pop world. Inspired by shows like MAMA, I’ve put together a non-rigorous survey to gather your thoughts and ideas on this concept. 🎤🎶
📝 Note: This is all just for fun and brainstorming! Nothing is official or super serious, and I’m open to all kinds of suggestions. The more, the merrier!
I’ve listed a bunch of award categories I thought could fit into a new K-pop award show. But this is where you come in—I want to know what you think! Would you add or change anything? Are there categories you’d love to see that don’t usually make it to the big shows?
If you have a few minutes, please fill out the Google Form and share your thoughts! 🙏 Your input will help shape a more diverse and exciting range of categories that truly highlight everything we love about K-pop.

(if you didnt get it this was generated by ChatGPT LOL)
anyways idk when im gonna release the results. probably in late november or early december.
I mean I LOVE all of them, but personally mantra hits hard
Question for anyone mostly because I'm curious. The story about Hybe and their internal documents supposedly confirming a fan theory about this song is based on a fanfiction is pretty interesting.
Has anyone read it or found it? I'm super curious to read it. It sounds interesting. Supposedly it's even been published as a book. In case no one knows what I'm talking about...here's one of the articles.
The fanfic in question is called 'Mad Summer' by someone who goes by Kyrie...I've seen it referenced in some articles as 'Crazy Summer' it sounds so out of character for Yeonjun and Beomgyu that it makes it sound even more interesting.
