I got the Amazon Prime one for free, I'm not sure how well it is patched and such and it is the only game I have on there. Would rather have it in Steam, should I spend $2.50 for it or just use the free one I got? Does it go on sale this cheap often on Steam or GoG?

If I do go with the Steam version is there anything I need to do to patch it or just install and go?

I know nothing about these games other than they are very well regarded in the community. I'm going in completely blind. Not that I need more items in my backlog, but I couldn't pass up buying these two for less than $5 on the current Steam sale.

I'm excited to give them a go and experience what everyone has raved about all these years!

P.S. - anyone have experience with playing these on the Steam Deck?

I'm forced to do this quest now unfortunately and I'm worried about the content I'll miss out on because of it. Earlies save I have is the one where I'm standing in front of the Ebon Hawk before Atton triggers the cutscene with the Exchange fella hologram invitation.

I read online that the speeder quest on Serocco territory will not be doable after this point. What significance does this quest play in the game? Does it give you more rewards than the ability to fast travel? The Gad quest as well, if I avoid killing the gads in the bar will I be able to finish it later or is re-entering the bar impossible after that?

Any other things I'm locked out of now because of this? Honestly I'm very pedantic in trying to complete everything while playing a game and knowing that I'm going to miss out on stuff like this because of a forced quest pisses me off to no avail and destroys my enjoyment as much as to make me want to start the game all over again at some point in the future. In any case could you subtly tell me about any other times in the game where a similar thing can happen, where you're locked out of quests so that I can avoid it catching me off guard? Don't want to spoil any plot points but I don't want to miss out either.

I'm playing with the Restored Content patch. If there is any way to solve this with the use of console commands that would be helpful as well. Maybe stopping the invitation script from initiating and turning it off later? That would be too good to be true but sometimes there's a way.

So, I’ve been playing a Female Dark Side Jedi Consular, and decided to swap alignment during the fight with Bastila. I tried to turn Bastila to the light, and I returned to the beach. Now, I did all 12 dialogues with Carth and I know I romanced him. I even tested siding with Bastila, and during that, he acknowledges his feelings for me. Yet for some reason, if I reject the Dark Side, Carth doesn’t confess his love on the beach. I’m so confused. Any help? Could I have missed something?

I finished a light side playthrough just now and this game has an excellent story and great characters.A good selection of party members. I particularly enjoyed Carth's mistrustfulness at the start and his character growth to accept the player character even when they are revealed as Revan. Taris Carth would have shot my brains out if he knew i was Revan. I liked the different challenges and task you'd have yo complete in each of the five planets on your star map quest. Korriban was probably my favourite followed by Manaan. (The order i did was Dantooine, Manaan, Tatooine, Kyshyk, Korriban). Also i didnt restrict myself to only light sided descions rather i just did whatever i thought i would do and it ended up as light side. The thing that currently bothers me is the vicotry party on the unknown planet where The One and his Rakata are still situated. We were told earlier that these particular Rakata were flesh eating so interesting that they didnt sneak up on the large crowd. During the sith academy part, i was a bit more savage and less peaceful. I do wish we could redeem Malak though. Also Basitla was good, she was quite arrogant at the start but her change to the darkside made sense. In the end, Revan needn't choose between his love or the galaxy as he got both!

I tried recreating the unused Darth Revan model from The Clone Wars in Blender and I thought I'd share a render for Star Wars day :)

So I am going to play KOTOR for the first time and wanted to know if there are some mods for a better experience, HD mods, content mods etc etc, that you should use. If you have any good ones, let me know.

Update: After trying to install all the suggesting mods from the mod build guide for 6 hours, it did not work. Guess I am playing Vanilla then.

I learn languages as a hobby, and I've played Kotor twice in German. First of all, I think the voice acting is really good. But the thing that stands out to me is Bastila. I did play Kotor in English as a kid, but had forgotten what Bastila sounds like in English until recently.

The German VA for Bastila gives you a pretty different interpretation of the character imo, one that I much prefer to the English VA. After playing a bit in English recently, I was amazed but how arrogant and frustrating she is. The German voice actor is somewhat warmer and rather than overwhelmingly arrogant sounds more like overwhelmingly ignorant. Just an interesting detail that stood out to me, I recommend playing in German if you can understand it.

Similarities:

1. Small neutral power in a global/galactic conflict
2. Tries to maintain ties with both sides and remain neutral
3. Very strict laws, heavy security presence, death penalty for smuggling drugs/kolto
4. Nice clean built environment though

I read that scoundrel/guardian is really OP if done right. What stats, feats and force powers do you recommend?

Does anyone have any experience getting Kotor1 running well with widescreen/controller support on the steam deck? It looks to be quite tricky to do on the deck itself. Would it be possible to install all the mods on a MacBook and then transfer everything over to the deck?

I figure if you are on this sub it may not matter as much to you. But maybe it will to someone else in your circle.

I have recently begun to play this game, it seems very fun but I can't quite understand the combat system. Like is there a good strategy I have to use or do I spam feats all the time?

Hi so I just got KOTOR II the other day and I was wondering if there is the ability to romance someone like you are Juhani in KOTOR I? Or is that something I’d need to get a mod for?

I’m looking at getting the KOTOR bundle on the Apple App Store but I don’t want to spend the money without knowing my Xbox one controller will work on it. I’ve tried searching but no one seems to be sure. All of the questions were from a few years ago though, so does anyone now know if they both work? I’ve seen kotor 2 has controller support but can’t find much on kotor 1

At the beginning of peragus you control T3 for a bit. A mandatory door requires a mine to open, however on the Difficult setting, T3 lacks the skill to set it. I always just lower the difficulty temporarily to make the skill check.

Is there a way to open that door without adjusting the difficulty?

Idk if it’s my graphics settings I’m using, my computer can run it, but my game keeps crashing, I truly am a noob with computers, I want to play the game so bad but the constant crashing is making it unbearable, I’ll attach a picture with my settings when I get home after work

I'm attempting a go through Taris without leveling up and have run into a problem. I snuck into the Black Vulkar base and agreed to betray the Hidden Beks. But when I went to fight the leader of the Hidden Beks I found that I couldn't manage it without getting immediately killed. So I snuck out of the Hidden Beks HQ (I had already sounded the security alarm so all the Hidden Beks want to fight me if they see me), snuck back into the Black Vulkar base, and got the swoop accelerator. Problem is, now when I go back into the Hidden Beks base they still take me as an enemy and I can't talk to the head of the Hidden Beks without getting into a fight and again facing my original problem of getting killed. What's the solution to this situation??

Just want to make a personal anouncement. Kotor 2 was my first game in my life, 4 years old, and not speaking english besides dog and cat, (latinamerican), i tend to do different playthroughs every year or so (last was a light side blaster, which i posted A LOT around october maybe. Starting with "why am i missing so much" (if you remember that post and didnt threw hate, i appreciate it a lot)

Now i recently turned 18 and can get a tattoo now, and i am thinking of getting a darth nihilus tattoo on the left shoulder. Whenever i get my tattoo i will post it here. I know it's not something you'll care about but i felt like posting this before doing it

I play on galaxy s21 5g, if i active the hd graphic in the option everything is fine BUT the gui/hud and minimap are too small and if i desactivate the hd graphics thats fix this problem but now when i speak to someone the subtitles dont appear and i cant skip the dialog... what i am supposed to do please help

I'm posting this update in part to show you Revenge of Revan intro mockup and some images and  the Intro Movie/ crawler mockup.

I'm posting the mockup video in hopes to find someone who can do the real intro movie for the mod.

The mockup is done in Blender. The person could take this file and make it look better.

At the end of the video you see part of the space station break off,. There would be an explosion there.

One thought is also to just have the ship fly to the planet surface and not the space station since it makes it look like the ship crashed into the station.

The explosion on the space station doesn't have anything to do with the space ship.

Revenge of Revan intro mockup

As im sure we all know, 3C-FD is a recruitable party member in the prologue of KOTOR 2 and is found irreparable on Peragus by T3-M4 later on. I am currently replaying the game (im unsure how many playthroughs i have had for this game atp) and i’m noticing that throughout every miner’s hololog they never seem to mention 3C-FD. They noted “a protocol droid, a utility droid and a lot of corpses” numerous times, but why wouldn’t it be 2 utility droids considering 3C-FD? Even if this is because he was destroyed, they made sure to mention the plethora of corpses around the Ebon Hawk. Idk if theres any actual reason for this but I was just curious.
