Hello! I'm planning to self drive along the south coast of Korea in June but after speaking to a friend who drove in Korea, I'm a bit hesitant as I heard from him that Korean drivers are aggressive when driving and not the most rule abiding. He also mentioned that the rural parts of Korea will not have English signage which will hinder navigation and safety checking (eg not being able to understand korean words written on the roads about slowing down).
I'm also a new driver with 1-2 years of experience, having driven only in Singapore, Japan and Melbourne previously. This will be my first time driving on the left hand side as well. Would it be challenging and dangerous for me to drive? What should I take note of if I do decide to drive?
Hi everyone Me & my wife will be finally visiting South Korea end of Feb. As our return tickets to Europe are from Shanghai (visiting as well) we were thinking about doing the following itinerary: Fly in to Seoul from Shanghai Spend 4 nights in Seoul (hotel in Myeongdong) Take high speed train to Busan Spend 4 nights in Busan (hotel in Haeundae) Fly back to Shanghai
We only have 8 nights in South Korea - so we were also thinking about a 3/3/2 nights configuration and spending maybe 2 nights on jeju island or Gyeongju (similar to Kyoto vibe?) - however since it s still February we most probably will not have great weather for Jeju - and there’s also the hustle of flying/packing & unpacking.
I guess the question is if Gyeongju or maybe some other easy to reach location in South Korea is worth spending some additional nights - besides just doing Seoul & Busan. As we re also spending some nights in Shanghai as well, we thought that splitting 4 nights each in both cities will make it a more relaxed vacation than constantly packing/unpacking each 2/3 nights.
Would love to hear your thoughts. Thank you
Im looking to go to pop up shops in seoul I always see people going to them but I don't know how people can find them so easily. Is there like a website, or anything at all that you can use to find them?
Hello, my partner and I want to take our cats to New Zealand with us. The only possible company is Korean Air because we want to have them with us on the plane in the cabin! Only there is a transit at Incheon International Airport in Seoul. Have people ever flown with their dog or cat on a flight like this with a transfer? Are there quarantine days to do even in transit? If you have any information or advice. We plan to go to New Zealand for over a year, we are just taking as much information as possible! Thank you!
I’ll be visiting Seoul in March and I am looking to visit a med spa or plastic surgery office for some facials and skin procedures (mostly contouring and laser, nothing invasive).
Does anyone have any recommendations on solid practices that offer great deals and work with foreigners (I’m from the U.S.)? I’m mostly looking for practices that offer packages.
Preferably in Gangnam, as that is where I will ideally be staying.
Thank you! ^^
I’m a Filipino citizen. I will be arriving in Seoul from the US and will be having a 14-hour layover before flying to Manila. Is it possible to go out of Incheon Airport?
I found online that a ferry operates between Yeosu and Namhae and that cars can get on some of them. This would save a lot of time as I'm planning to drive from Yeosu to Namhae. Do I need to book in advance? Which website do I book the ferry at? Can I do so without knowing Korean well?
Also, a bit random but does anyone know where to find mudflat activities in the south coast? I can't find any online.
Hello! I will be travelling to seoul for one day (layer over), and wish to shop for local brands, midranged, for late twenty-thirty year old female fashion; as well as visit a skin clinic for non-invasive procedure (Such as aquapeel) - should I stay at myeongdong or hongdae or somewhere else?
Hi,
I've been looking for flights to Japan and one of the most interesting options is Asiana Airlines. I'd be traveling from Heathrow to Narita with a transfer at Incheon.
The layover at ICN is only 1h. Both flights are on the same ticket and operated from the same Terminal 1. Just wonder if 1h is considerend a reasonable amount of time? For both, for me to jump from one aircraft to another and for the airline to transfer my luggage.
On the return, my stop at ICN would be 20h 30min. The idea is to have a quick trip to Seoul, retun to a hotel nearby the airport and get some rest before flying back to London. Is that worth a hassle if I realistycaly could have only 6-8h to spend in the city?
Thanks ;)
Hello everyone,
I’m planning a trip to Korea from October 7th to October 16th, and I noticed that Chuseok falls during this period. Initially, I planned to stay in Seoul from October 7th to 9th, then travel to Busan from October 9th to 12th, before returning to Seoul. However, after researching on several platforms, I realized it might be difficult to get train tickets to Busan and back to Seoul. I came across articles mentioning that the government might make October 10th a day off. Should I stick with my original dates or wait until after October 10th, and then travel to Busan from October 11th to 13th or 14th?
Thank you so much in advance. ^_^
Hi there! My friend and I are going to Japan in May and are planning to make a short jump over to South Korea. Our current plans are to fly from Osaka to Seoul and then fly out of Busan a couple days later to go back to Tokyo. Both of these would be one way tickets as they are different cities. I recently saw that South Korean airlines won’t let you board if you have a one way ticket. If I were to print the return flight info would they let us board? If not is there a better way to go about this?
Hi,
I plan to go in SK in May for around 16 days 15 nights (2 people in their 40). We should arrived around 6h45 PM so i guess we can't go to far from Seoul for the first night.
We would like to go to Busan, Gyeongju and of course Seoul (another place?). I want to finish our journey in Seoul.
My boyfriend would like to spend around 7 nights at the end in Seoul so it rest 8 nights (but we can change).
What is the best itinerary? I thought of:
1 night Seoul
2 nights Gyeongju
5 nights Busan
7 nights Seoul
Any suggestion? other city to go and spend night?
Thanks
Would you do a tour of the “Chasing Cherry Blossoms” or would you do the usual day tour - Blueline Sky Capsule, Gamcheon, etc.?
Hi there
I have been thinking to add Korea to mu visites countries. Are there any muslims who can give me info about it.
Are there helal restraunts and are there places to pray?
Edit: Just to be clear I am not worried about people not gonna be friendly. Just looking for info about the accommodations.
Thank you
So the carry-on size limit (as shown in picture) says 45 inches total (115cm total) or 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. My carry-on luggage is 21in x 13in x 9in, 43 inches total. Will I be able to use this as my carry-on? Or does the 45in rule only apply to non-wheelers such as bags and duffle bags?
Hi All,
My partner and I will be visiting Seoul in mid February and wanted a check from people more familiar with the city whether our itinerary is feasible. The below is our general itinerary - any feedback is appreciated. I realise Day 1 will be a fair bit of walking but we've done similar big walking days in other countries before. This will be our first time in Seoul.
Day 1
Morning-Late Afternoon: Gyeongbokgung Palace + Changdeokgung Palace + Bukchon Hanok Village
Late Afternoon/Night: Inwangsan Mountain Hike (we've done a few winter hikes before and will make sure we're appropriately dressed as we realise it'll be quite cold!)
Late Evening: Myeondong Market
Day 2
Day 3
Day 4
Also if anyone has any recommendations for the below, that'd be appreciated!
Thanks in advance everyone!
Is there anything around the airport worth leaving for during our layover? Our flight lands at 3:30pm, and next flight is at 10pm. These are not connecting so we’d have to get our bags and recheck them in, which we can’t do until 3hrs prior to our takeoff.
So we have a few hrs stuck outside of security at incheon which I was hoping to store luggage and go somewhere nearby the airport to explore/relax. So mainly asking
Looking to get a lot of tattoo work done, want something within ~1 hour to Seoul. I know its mostly locked down in this space.. but some instagram IDs is fine.

For food, Gyeongdong Traditional Market is a less touristy version of Gwangjang Market located 15 minutes from Gwangjang Traditional Market.
Recent vlog https://youtu.be/zG31z65tgFo?si=M7ktbQjnaRi5ovHp highlights a recent contestant on the TV show Culinary Class Wars who runs a restaurant Andongjip Son Kalguksi (literal meaning - Andong Homestyle Restaurant Handmade Noodles) at Gyeongdong Traditional Market.
Directions from Gwangjang Market: From Jongno5(o)-ga Station, take Line 1 going towards Dongdaemun Station. After 8 minutes and 4 stations, get off at Jegidong Station. From exit 2, walk 7 minutes to Gyeongdong Traditional Market.

I’m planning to travel with my GF to South Korea next summer for about 2 weeks, and I’m wondering if $5500-$6000 would be enough? That would be excluding a plane ticket.
Thank you!
My wife and I are doing our annual trip to Seoul in April to stay with the in-laws. We usually book ourselves a couple of nights in a nice hotel as a little city break. We’ve stayed in the Four Seasons before and loved it but I was wondering if anyone has any experience of staying in another luxury hotel that they would recommend? Grand Hyatt and Shill both look lovely but any recommendations are welcome. TIA.
Hi does anyone know of any mudflat related activities in korea in march,, google doesn’t really give any specifics?
Hi! So I’ll be going to Korea the first week of April. And the souvenir for myself is a small tattoo :)
I’m looking for ideas on what tattoo to get that will remind me like yep got that in South Korea.
Little info on my souvenirs is they are always related to my pup Soona that means moon in Mayan. So my tattoos are moon related or her name somehow incorporated. My Ireland tattoo is the Celtic moon, Iceland one is her name in rubes, Mexico one is her on the moon lol
Anyways any ideas I would welcome I’m kind of at a loss. If you have tattoo artist recs I welcome them but more looking for ideas since I can just use instagram to find an artist.
Hi all, can anyone recommend allergy friendly places to eat in Seoul? Or what foods to avoid, I have a severe peanut allergy and will be travelling there in June.
Thanks!
If someone had a choice between a single aisle seat in premium economy, or an entire row in basic economy for Premia air, what is the best option to go with?
Also, do the duty free purchases at the airport count against the carry-on limit?
Now I receive this I have tried three of my bank cards (2 British and one Chinese ) and none will work so I have been paying the driver in cash. Is there another app I can use to get taxis or anyone suggest a work around ? Thank you
Me, amd two of my friends(from india) are planning to visit s-korea between septenber -november for 10 days. We dont have very high budget, For now we've decided for a budget of 1.2 - 1.5 Lakhs(excluding tickets) for the trip which will include as much as travelling we can do to explore, wont be having expensive & high class cafes, basic transportation, etc. So is that enough?.... Because I heard for 10 days the budget is low :( Can y'all let us know what budget will be fine for an average lifestyle?
Hi everyone,
My fiancé and I are going to Korea in March and thinking to have a pre-wedding photoshoot in Busan.
Any recommendations for studios or photographers??
