This summer I’ll be visiting South Korea and want to purchase sunscreen because I’ve heard, and experienced, that the US ones are not as good.
Here’s when I would be using it:
I play tennis every day during the summer and need something that can handle that activity/sweat level.
I also go swimming (pool or river) about once a week.
I would love to hear suggestions/recommendations on what sunscreens I should purchase when I’m in Seoul.
Hi, I will be staying in Korea for 1 month in July and was wondering if it is possible for a foreigner to create or buy a korean League of Legends Account as I want to play it during my free time. If anyone is willing to lend me an account I would be eternally grateful 😁😁. I'm around high emerald low diamond rank if it matters 🥺
I'm trying to send gifts for my relatives in Korea but have no idea what to send them because I know Korea got most of the stuff from America. I'm sending it to my (F) cousins in their early 20's. Any snacks or candies that are here in the US and not in Korea recommendations? Or little card holders from coach, Kate spade? Recommendations would be appreciated<3
Hi all,
Currently in Insadong and really like the idea of getting a stamp for myself but I’m struggling to search for an appropriate shop. My Naver Fu isn’t that good yet. Anyone able to assist?
I’m looking for a shop which has;
So far I’ve found ‘kkakmang handwriting’ which has some reviews but haven’t managed to get to the store yet. Also baljuak in Hongdae but it seems they only do hand carved stamps? Also ‘stamp sup’ in Namsagol hanok village but there’s no website/pics etc
Hello! We have planned our itinerary in Seoul mostly around seeing the cherry blossoms. Will they still be around this coming week?
We plan to go to: -Seoul Forest -Namsan Tower -Seokchon Lake -Gyeongui Forest Park
Thanks!
My boyfriend and I will be flying into Seoul in June and staying almost 2 weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations for current books to help plan out our trip? He previously lived there, but didn’t do a lot of touristy stuff, and I have never been. Looking for great websites, videos, or books to help me plan on what we want to see!
Also open to other places that we could travel to from Seoul for 1-3 days during our trip.
My friend wants to go to Seongsudong to walk around, but he doesn’t know what restaurants or cafes to dine at. I also have no idea what that place has to offer other than the many cafes.
Open to suggestions to your favourite restaurants or cafes there! P.S., I’m not a huge coffee person, so it doesn’t really matter what coffee the cafe has.
Also open to any other suggestions for what to do there, like shopping or any cool looking places that are Instagram worthy LOL!
Hiii I'm building an Itinerary for my solo Korea Trip starting on May 6th,
One of the days will be around Jongno-gu. The Day is a split of Cultural and K-Drama Pilgrimage themed sightseeing. Here's my Itinerary so far:
Day starts:
- Gwanghwamun Square
- Gyeongbokgung Palace
- Straight to Insadong Area (Ssamziegil)
- Ikseondong Hanok Village
- Sewoon Arcade (Just a small detour to take a pic of the Vincenzo market city)
- Then walk along Cheonggyecheon Stream all the way back to Gwanghwamun Square.
I really can't fit Bukchon Hanok Village in this Itinerary. But I'd let you know that I do have plans on visiting Jeonju Hanok Village and a couple more Hanok Villages if that'll make up to it. So what will I miss? I've watched walkthroughs and vlogs of the site but they show the same things that is not as appealing to me as the Ikseondong Hanok Village.
I'm almost always convince to remove it until I read articles that it's a must-visit place. or it's the best Hanok Village in Korea.
So feel free to adjust my Itenirary or explain if it's really worth it. Once and for all! thank you hehe,
Hello, I would like to know where to buy fresh ginseng and if there are any problems at customs when bringing it home?
I don't know if it has to be vacuum packed or you can buy it at any market.
Where are the best places to buy it, traditional markets or supermarkets?
Thanks.
I mean THAT drama's been ages old!
Hello! Does anyone know if there are any thrift stores or boutiques in Seoul that sell vintage slip dresses or lingerie (more specifically local Korean brands)?
Looking to buy past designs and not current / new ones and wasn’t able to find any information online. If any one has any help it would be much appreciated, thanks in advance :)

Basically lh everything above. I received a few items with tax free receipts to get refunds at the airport, do I have to actually keep things in the box and unused? I wanted to unbox my skincare and shoe so I didnt take up too much space with boxes.
Also do I have to declare everything thing too at Customs?
Hello! Tried searching online but haven't come across - would anyone kindly let me know if there are any claw machine arcade places in or near myeongdong? Thanks.
I live in a country that charges high import fees, even on low value imports, so when I read that orders under 150 USD don't get charged import fees (duties, customs, taxes), I got excited and thought I'd order some stuff from the USA to the hotel (with their approval) I'll be staying at during a short trip planned to Seoul. I will arrive in a month and then I'll only be there for about a week, and after reading some posts on this sub, I'm hearing that your packages won't get cleared at customs if you don't have an ARC customer clearance number. Is an ARC customer clearance number a tourist could obtain easily? I am questioning whether or not I should even attempt this idea. If there's a high risk my package won't get past customs as a tourist then I should skip this idea
Hi,
Finding this really hard to Google despite trying for a while... I will be travelling in Korea in Jan-Feb 2025, aiming for 3 weeks total with the dates themselves pending.
Trying to time the trip so we visit a ski field when school is no longer on vacation so it's less busy - a bit confusing as to whether or not school will be on vacation throughout January and ending early Feb, or if it'll be throughout that time.. A term calender would be even better!
Many thanks for you help!
I'm spending a week in Busan and I'd really like to see some folk music being played, as a concert or in some other setting. But I don't know Korean so I'm not sure how to find it (and my Korean-speaking friend is not interested).
Can anybody help? What should I be googling or where might I go?
Hello, I'm traveling to SK for a little under 2 weeks in June! I was wondering where the best place to exchange money would be at? (For reference, it will be around $1,500-2,000) Aka, which place has the best exchange rate? Would it be better to do it on a site such as Revolut or Creatrip, or would it be best to do it someone in Korea? The airport or elsewhere? Thank you so much in advance!
Hi, I’m hoping to buy some traditional style onngi pottery on Jeju. Any recommendations for places to shop? Thanks!
From time to time I go for longer trips and in such occassions may use the bus to get to a place with the bicycle (partly dismantled) in the luggage compartment. I have taken dozens of express buses (고속버스) or intercity buses (시외버스) and this worked out just fine. A short year ago it happened that I was refused by the bus driver (보령 ---> 대전). I was on time and there was ample space in the bus for a bike, but the bus driver was having none of it and arguing did not get me anywhere. Once again, earlier this week, I heard of three other friends who were refused to load their bike (대전 ---> 충주) and were forced to cancel their trip as it was the last bus service of the day.
Is it by law that bicycles are technically not allowed on buses, but it is simply condoned? In the end all I can do is abide by the bus driver's rules, but do I have a right to complain through an official channel? And have you experienced this yourself on other modes of public transport? I read that travelling by train (무궁화) with bycicle is also not possible anymore unless it is one of those foldable ones.
staying in korean school, and I wonder how it is if you want to ship most of your things home, that’d be stuff like skin care, new clothes and of course nothing with batteries.
can someone whos done it recently or anyone with experience or anything similar give some information as to how it is currently? is there a way i can check prices , are there multiple shippers with different costs?
Will be staying there for a few months so there will be stuff piling on. Any ideas folks? anything is welcome to be shared.
thanks
Ignoring the discussion of whether we should or shouldn’t try to eat here, does anyone know the content of the broth? Also are kimchi dumpling veg or do they have pork etc in them as well?
M 35 doing a solo trip early next year and weighing up ~10 days in good ol’ Tokyo vs Seoul
I’ve looked into this a bit and all that turns up over and over again is how the club scene in Seoul absolutely blowing anything in Japan out of the water and that Koreans can party hard… thing is I’m not a club guy at all and would rather be sipping craft beer or natural wine at some bar with a capacity of 12-50 and a conversational level of music volume.
Does Seoul have just as many small and mid-size bars and pubs with a chill vibe as Tokyo, or is there a heavy emphasis on clubs blaring western pop music? Because that’s what I see in every discussion or street walk video, though that could be just because it’s particularly notable.
How does it work? I see you can spend up to $3700 USD but then what happens when I get back to US? Isn’t the US limit $800?
My friend and I are planning to go to Seoul for a week next month, and one of the things we want to do is be degenerates and pull an all-nighter in a PC bang (don't judge us lol).
I was curious if there exists any PC bangs in Seoul with private gaming rooms (or even couple's rooms?) we could play in, just so if we doze off and fall asleep we'd have some privacy. I couldn't find any info on the internet about these, though i've read some PC bangs offer private rooms. Any guidance would be appreciated, thank you!
Help. Need Dawn dish soap or something very similar to get sticky residue safely out of hair asap
I’m in Seoul for 5 days, here is my basic itinerary (only showing bigger attractions)
Are there any other nearby places I need to visit? :) TIA
Hi, I’m wanting to go to the Doosan Bears game today but not really sure how you go about getting tickets? Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers
