WELCOME TO r/KOREABOO_CRINGE!

This is a subreddit dedicated in showing the worst from kpop fans and fans of Korean media in general.

What is a koreaboo, you ask? It's essentially someone who is obsessed with Korea to the point where they might believe they are Asian.

We really encourage users to post as many findings as you can and help document how bad these cringy fans can be.

POST RULES

Please remember that when posting, you must:

-Redact all usernames, including yours. Accounts belonging to public figures are the exception. If you don't do this, your post will be removed.

-No anecdotes. We want visual evidence of koreaboos. This is the internet and it's easy to fabricate a tall tale. We don't wanna turn into r/entitledparents now, do we? r/weeabootales is where you want to post any anecdotes.

-Satire is only allowed on Saturdays. Don't want this sub to be overrun with nothing but satire, which is why it is limited to one day only.

-Use post flairs. There are different flavors of koreaboo and its best to categorize their cringe in order to be able to look up specific examples of their cringe more easily.

-No bigotry of any kind. Don't wanna see any of that in post titles. Instant temporary ban 1st time around. Repeat offenders will be permabanned. We will judge case by case, though.

-Please tag things NSFW if appropriate. Some people don't want to be scarred for life accidentally.

COMMENT RULES

-No bigotry. What bigotry, you ask? Here are some examples of what this sub can possibly attract: "idols look like girls","asians aren't even that attractive", etc. These examples are relatively tame but it's hard to be hateful, so cut us some slack.

-Don't bash Korean media. Korean media can be pretty good. Just because fans are toxic doesn't mean it's automatically trash.

-Don't bash normal fans. Unfortunately, in life, you'll share some interests with a couple of weirdos. Doesn't make you a bad person but it can be infuriating seeing something you love associated with them. Make the distinction between sane fans and the crazies.

-Do not be a koreaboo apologist. Defending awful koreaboo behavior using excuses is not allowed. It doesn't matter if the koreaboo in question is a child, inappropriate behavior is still inappropriate.

-Do not demean idols. Calling idols women or emasculating them is not allowed. This is a preventative measure to ensure that these kinds of insults don't devolve into anything hateful. It's not their fault for presenting the image the company wants them to put out.

-No politics. Take that somewhere else.
