Jazz noir can include everything from classic rock, trip hop, classical, blues and new wave. It's really the noir part that's important; isolated, bluesie, dreamlike, moody, melancholic and menacing tones. Sit down, pour yourself a strong drink and listen to the heartbeat of the city.

So what is jazznoir?
It’s mysterious, melancholy and menacing music by swingin' sax men and sultry sirens for hardboiled hepcats and leggy lookers. It’s late-night listening for luckless losers, and the soundtrack to strolls under street lights on foggy nights.
But it's not confined to any particular genre - we've had everything from classical to classic rock to trip hop in this joint - but more of a mood, a vibe, a certain sound...
You know it when you hear it.
It’s not just about music, either. Feel free to discuss & submit pics, clips, tv shows, stories - anything that captures the essence of jazznoir.
In the meantime, pull up a stool, smoke 'em if you got ‘em and do what Bogey tells you.
Reminder: this is /r/jazznoir, not /r/lofihiphop or /r/jazzinfluencedhiphop. That doesn't mean hip hop isn't allowed under any circumstances, it just needs to capture the feel of noir.

Not sure if this fits here but maybe some of you will enjoy this band. I was also wondering if anyone recommend any other bands on Bandcamp that have this dark 'surf' guitar and baritone sax sound?
I book bands at a music and cabaret venue in Brooklyn called The Red Pavilion, and we're looking to hire musicians for a weekly jazz noir night. The aesthetic of the space is Asian neo-noir with David Lynch vibes. Please DM me to collab!
