A place to share and discuss jazz and experimental music from Japan.
The wonderful nerdy world that is Japanese jazz. Experimental music in general is also welcome.

I like jazz and I liked female vocalists. So I'm looking for a playlist that's a couple of hours long. I wouldn't care if it's a live stream from a club as long as the audio is good.
Looking for authentic, hip and modern Japanese jazz. Something you'd hear if you went into a jazz club in downtown Tokyo this weekend.
Hey there! Im an 18 year old visiting Japan from Australia in January. I have a big interest in jazz, jazz fusion, funk etc and would love to check out some shows in Tokyo. I would love some recommendations but also id like to ask, will I be able to access these venues at my age. I am aware that the legal drinking age is 20, however I'm not interested in drinking, just enjoying the show. Thanks :)
I will be traveling to Osaka next week and was planning on visiting some record stores. I mostly listen to stuff like Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Lester Young, Bill Evens etc. I have some Ryo Fukui records but wanted more recomendations? Any big names i should be on the look out for?
Hello everyone, for the past few hours I'm looking for a (I think) Japanese Jazz record that the cover resembles the picture below (my drawing skills are not the best) the lines are like pencil drawn, I think it's a popular record, but had no luck finding it. If anyone can help me, thank you all.
Does anybody know a small and quiet jazz bar/cafe that’s open at night?
I’d love to bring my music group to Tokyo in the next year or so- we specialise in Avant garde music and new commissions. This November I have a chance to visit Tokyo and I want to get to know the scene! Any suggestions of venues to visit and organisation/groups to connect with who perform similar music. I’d like to connect with some people to make a tour happen
I’m in Tokyo now. Agenda was too busy to tour music venues (next time). After a week of biking, we’ll be in Kyoto for a few days.
Any tips on jazz venues or dope record stores would be great appreciated.
Arigato!
I've been a fan of this song and have been trying to get both of the versions of it downloaded (vocal and non vocal) but I literally cant find the official (vocal version) anywhere :( the only one is this fan upload on youtube

Hello all, I am here to ask for recommendations for albums that are semi-similar to Ryo Fukui’s “Scenery.” I guess to be more specific, more piano-drum focused Japanese jazz. Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know any beginner lessons on how to play japanese jazz fusion?
This is a translated text : « Good morning. We are pleased to publish our first album. We warmly invite you to give us your most sincere feedback. This is only a first album and is therefore prone to many worries. By inquiring that our art touches you and pleases you. Warmly «
