How likely are you to forgive someone in the following situations?

You can answer this in detail or on a scale of 1 to 10 or both. You may also answer this question in general and ignore the situations altogether.

  1. You are casually going by and a person bumped into you. They didn't say sorry and just moved on.
  2. Out of the blue, an acquaintance shouts at you. You didn't do anything. Later on, they come to you and say sorry. They don't seem genuine.
  3. Same as above but this time they do seem genuine.
  4. You have a really, really close friend; like 'someone who understands you' kind of friend. You find out (from a genuine source, i.e. what you heard is 100% accurate) that they were actually manipulative. They lied to you. When you confronted them about it, they ignored you.
  5. Same as above but here they seemed shocked that you know about it. After a while they come to you and say sorry. They apologized multiple times and said that they didn't mean to manipulate you and that they'll not do this again.

I asked this on the ENFP sub and I'm curious about what you guys think.. Also, I wonder if it has any correlation with MBTI, so I'm planning to ask this on the other MBTI subreddits.

Don’t know what to make of a meeting with an ISTJ

I had a meeting with a person who I believe to be an istj and is in a position of guiding me for some time now. We had a great discussion, but, at the end, I didn’t know what else to say, he also got up and left before me with a very brief “Goodbye”. Usually, they are warmer to me, especially after a nice interaction.

As an enfp who is sensitive to disruptions in the perceived harmony of my close relationships, I felt a slight rejection. And I have the impression that maybe I did something wrong. Could you give me some possibilities as to what could have happened?

If I use Ni to lay down what needs to be done and use Si in the process of actually getting there, am I still istj?

I don’t really relate to INTJs, but I relate to their way of thinking when solving personal problems. I have an overarching future based goal then find out how to reach it, and that’s where the si comes in. I use ni to figure things out, and si in the process of actually doing the things in order to reach the goal I found from ni. I’m sorry if this sounds confusing. Would I still be considered an istj?

What word/phrase do you use the most?

Preferably something that isn't an article, preposition, pronoun, or conjuction.

I only recently realized how often I say "that's interesting". I don't have to factor in context and I can clearly convey exactly what I'm thinking just with tone. It does make texting interesting though.

If you've ever doubted whether you're an ISTJ or an ISFJ, what helped you decide which type is yours?

I've taken many MBTI tests (I've taken the official test about 5 times in the last few years) and have had different results. Most of the time I was identified as an ISFJ, ISFJ or INFJ and I still get confused between them. Was there anything that helped you to finally be sure that this was your type?

Being among the most popular types, how "connected" do you feel?

Since ISTJs are so common, there's got to be a connection right? I'm not gonna jump to conclusions because honestly, I have no idea how you guys truly feel. Also, the posts on this subreddit don't confirm nor deny how I feel about this.

But I'd like to know if you feel connected to people or if you feel alone. If you feel like the energy around you is too much, or if you feel like it is actually quite warming, even if you don't always reflect it yourself.

I read a comment a little bit ago that an ISTJ felt like they didn't know any other ISTJs which really surprised me and made me think more into this. Hence why I created this post now lol.

ISTJs which ISTJ related statement do you think is truest?

By attracted I mean personality wise, feels very strong pull towards them. Most likely to develop a crush on even if physically they aren’t your type. Platonically tend to seek out friendships with people of this type, there’s an intrigue and strong attraction there that isn’t present for most types.

Are ISTJs secretly quirky

I have an ISTJ cousin and also a few people in my social circle who are ISTJs. It always seems very hard to understand you people on a fundamental level. I never know if you guys have warmed up to me or am I just delusional.

But the ISTJs that I got close with tend to have some unique and unexpected hobby that nobody could imagine them indulging into. It's almost funny yet endearing. They are indeed passionate about it too.

I am curious to read to what extent is this common among ISTJs.

ISTJ gentlemen and explorers: What do you think of ENTJs?

I recently met an ISTJ through a friend of a friend. He is one of the most fascinating men I've ever met.

There's just something about him which brings out my playful side and I like pushing all his buttons. He's not argumentative though and doesn't have a "I need to be right" mindset when we talk and will entertain all my outlandish theories. Yet when I act out and get testy, he acts very calm.

He says things like, "A man should never argue with a woman."

I overheard him though talking to our mutual friends that he thought he had "instant chemistry" with ENTJs (me?) but that "you have to stand up to ENTJs otherwise they get bored" and that he found ENTJs "annoying"! 😂

So ISTJ ladies and gentlemen, what is your opinion of ENTJs?

ISTJ 5w6? Or 6?

It feels like ISTJ 5 is a bit weird because 5 is all about theories and ideas and afaik, ISTJ prefer to be grounded and do things pratically instead of theorizing.

Any ISTJ 5s here? How does it work?

40+ Famous ISTJs

Source: https://vultology.com/database/?type=SiTe&development=

The Si function understands life as a series of events located in specific moments in time, and tied to each other in definite relationships. Si is keenly focused on accuracy and readily notices misquotations, invalid facts and is generally skeptical of unverified data. Si users emphasize the importance of understanding the historical context of things, frequently incorporating additional narrative details in their discussions. Thus, Si users often have an appreciation for history which drives them to gather extensive knowledge, often becoming avid readers, storytellers, and experts in many fields like anthropology, geography, and archeology.

I know ISTJs are supposed to be traditional, but I dont really approve of traditional gender roles

If I marry someone, I dont expect her to take the responsibility of doing chores, cleaning, cooking, and doing whatever other gender roles people used to do in the older times. I would honestly prefer being the one to cook for her, and to be the one to meal prep my own lunches instead of depending on her to pack lunch for me

I literally do not care about gender roles. Just do what works the best. I think the 'roles' should be shared instead of everything being on one person

Edit: also I said traditional because apparently that’s a major stereotype of ISTJs

ISTJs, do you follow traditional gender roles?

If you are an ISTJ male, would you be comfortable in a marriage to a woman who was very career oriented?

ISTJ vs ISTP?

I'm quite confident that I'm an IST

But how to easily tell if I'm J or P?

I'm did 16 personalities, it shows ISTJ while some other shorter tests showed I'm ISTP.

1 website mentioned ISTP are willing to try bungee jumping, but I won't. An ISTP friend also mentioned she might.

I feel like dumbass sometimes

Told my mother that I was gonna buy a Blue Lock manga with my friend after watching Sonic 3. Then she says “you should read other books about like science or nutrition”. She wanted me to read just have some knowledge about it. She said things about people who’s succeeded in life has read tons of books. And said that stuff like manga you can read but it doesn’t help or improve you as much in life. Then for some reason I hear things and I know what she’s saying, but sometimes I take personal for no reason then get pissed. And by the end of this conversation I feel like a dumbass. She even said can read manga alongside other books. For me I’ve never enjoyed reading books unless it was for class or hw. I really loved manga for than any for form or book

Edit: Mol felt bad after and apologized. But I understand where she’s coming in trying to want me to know this and help me grow and stuff. I’ll try and read some time to gain some knowledge.

Cleanliness

I have solved many of your "mysteries,"' but one thing bugs me above all. What the actual fuck is your definition of "a clean room." I've visited y'all's places (several of my irl ISTJ's friends houses now stop looking out the window) before & you complain about how it's such a mess when your place can be SPOTLESS. As if you were selling the house.

Like are you embarrassed because you went above & beyond? Are you trying to be modest? Why do you look genuinely embarrassed?🤔

Also, before anyone says "oh it's my organized mess" I'm calling bullshit. A spotless room is NOT an organized mess. An organized mess is you have a bunch of crap in boxes or a table with scattered papers, writing utensils, & maybe a computer with a drink a reasonable distance away from it.
