I've had my rhino iguana for 9 months now. I work alot so I get home in the evenings when he is about to snuggle to bed. I have been working with him when ever he is still out and about with is about twice to three times a week, so it's been a slow crawl with our bonding. I can hand feed him and he's ok with me when I conduct my spot cleaning. It's seems like he is in the brink of letting me pet him but hasn't yet.
My question is. How can I clean his enclosure without force handling to get him out of his enclosure, which I've done a couple of times now in order the clean his house, but i feel that if I do that again it will ruin the progress we have made up to this point.
Would that happen if I do? Is there another way of getting the enclosure clean?
Any advice will be very appreciated.
Hey guys, this is the first time I have to leave my iguana alone since the day that I got him , i haven't let him not even a single day so I'm a little worried about that
Definitely I have a thermostat for the ceramic lamp and something that turns on and off the uvb and the basking spot that I use
Any tips? What should i do with the food?is possible that he will get stressed?
My iguana tried to attack and split his face open I'm just wondering if it will ever grow back?
Does anybody from California know the laws on keeping an iguana? I’ve had mine for around 2.5 years, but was just this morning made aware that it’s now illegal to keep them as pets. I bought it from a local serpentarium, so I’d assume they wouldn’t sell an animal illegally, but any insight would be much appreciated.
looking to get one, just wanted to know if they have any issues because of their morph.
Looking to build a forever-enclosure for my male green iguana. I know it needs to be 8×6×6 at least, but I'm wondering what kind of materials and design choices are recommended?
Hello everyone. Does anyone know of a non-toxic plant for iguanas that grows like this? I would love to have this tree in Sully’s enclosure, but it is unfortunately toxic to iguanas.

She never asked me to stop and I pet little Blair for almost 4 minutes straight. Does she look relaxed or stressed? Her eyes were closed but she kept pushing herself into my finger and when I'd pull away she moved towards me
She's three months old and eats from my hand fine but I can't really touch her without her walking away. I don't want to grab her when she's walking or running away but I also don't want her to get too old to bond. What do I do? I'm scared to hurt her or for her to hurt me or make her afraid of me. Also does she seem healthy?
Hey, i’ve got a red iguana thats about 3 months old. Sometimes when i put my hand in the enclosure he’s skittish, but when i bring food he runs up and eats from my hand. I haven’t tried picking him up yet because im afraid that might ruin the trust im trying to build with him, do you guys have any tips on how i Can bond and get my iguana handleable? And also, does it hurt a lot when baby iguanas bite? I don’t think he will bite me out of agression, but he’s really curious and he might want to see if my finger is food. If you got any tips on what i can do, Please tell me. Also i have his enclosure next to my computer desk so he sees me like all day, i hope that’s a good thing.
