*MUST BE LOCATED IN HOUSTON, TEXAS AS THIS GAME WILL FEATURE ALL PHYSICAL SCENES FOR FUN :D*
Hosting and Dungeon Master looking for a player group age 18+ for a Dark Sun 2E Modified campaign on Weekends Mornings/Afternoons/Evenings.
I will be using a ready made campaign as inspiration, and will be well read on the world of Athas.
A little about me: I'm Sean, 22, Dungeon Master, Looking for a player group of about 4-6 players. I only have 1 confirmed so we have plenty of space.Looking to limit the campaign to about 8-10 sessions. We can continue the story if we all enjoy each other and my campaign isn't too bad lol.
If you are interested you please PM me!
House Rules:
*This will be a dark sun setting through and through, with all canon elements. Provided your character doesn't conflict with Dark Sun canon, I am not really strict on any unnecessary game limitations (i.e. I have a custom damage and weapon and armor system that is modified onto 2E ADnD). We will address issues as they come up. Again our only rule about this is Dark Sun Canon.
TLDR Dark Sun Setting: Mad Max but middle earth, super sick babes in warrior fits, Dune vibes, Deserts, Destruction, Apocalypse, Soulslike, Dark Fantasy, GrimDark. If this is your thing and haven't tried it, I really believe you will enjoy it.**Miniature rules are pretty loose, I know they can be hard to obtain, as long as they mostly match your class, and aesthetically match your race (i.e. as best as you could find for a half-giant, mul, or thri-kreen character). Again if you are super committed to a dark sun campaign with all physical scenes; I will happily buy you a miniature and let you come over and paint it. I will show you some tips in case you have never done it before.
Special Note: If you are *very* interested and you are a beginner, I am happy to teach you how to play. But I do recommend you play a campaign or two of 5e just so you can get a feel for the general premise of DnD first. Our campaign will be using a modified version of 2e ADnD, which is a very different ruleset. In addition Dark Sun is a brutal campaign setting where permanent character deaths are to be EXPECTED. Do not worry, this does not take you out of the game, there are systems to accommodate these gameplay themes. If you are a beginner, please consider this when thinking if my campaign is the right first ever DnD game for you.
If we have a successful start to finish campaign, and you weren't able to join due to the game being full; have no fear! I absolutely plan on hosting the Dark Sun setting consistently for the foreseeable future.
For now in the coming weeks expect only character creation, setting briefing, and scheduling sessions through discord or text.I am still in the process of writing my campaign, and building all of my scenes. If you have any terrain you'd like to help provide for the session that would be welcomed. We can discuss the logistics of all that.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
Basic Resources for everything Dark Sun----
******Be sure to read up on the setting before buying or painting your mini. For example there was huge event in Dark Sun that eliminated certain options for character creation. Please be advised.*****

Never been to OwlCon? It's a tabletop and boardgaming convention held in the heart of the Rice University Campus Feb 23-25th, and it's a hoot 🦉 (Sorry, I couldn't help myself.)
If you've never played HeroQuest, it's a "DnD-lite" dungeon crawler board game. Very easy to pick up. ⚔️ Here's a quick intro video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=HZnNDlw1Nxs&ab_channel=HasbroPulse

Hi,
I game on Friday nights, 8:00-whenever, in League City (near Kemah). I do board games biweekly. I’d like to start doing RPGs the other days. Is anybody in the area and interested in getting together?
My board game group plays many different kinds of board games, though I prefer Amerithrash style games myself. As for RPGs, I’ve played and run gobs and gobs of them. I prefer medium-crunch games, not story games.
I hope to hear from you. Have a great day!
Planning to run a Call of Cthulhu game soon but don’t have the space to host at my apartment. Any suggestions for public places in or near the north central area to run a game?
Hi! I’m looking for a board game group in the Houston/Katy area, any recommendations or people looking to have someone join them?
Anyone play/ know of any places I can play dbs card game? I use to go to lotus gaming shop but they closed down so I don’t have a place to go rn
I found out that people meet up at Asgard games in Houston on Sundays. Anybody up for some games rather than watch football?
Does anyone know of any gaming/hobby shops with 3D printers that will print stuff for you? I came across a cool shop in San Antonio that will print Hero Forge minis for $7 and was curious if anything of the sort exists in Houston.
I recently was gifted a bunch of the sets for the AGOT LCG and I'd really like to find somebody or a group that plays to get into the game. I'm located in Katy but don't mind driving. Anybody out there?
Hi guys,
Last time I played board games I saw you have such a cool cardbox with the community information on the table.
Thank you

Hey everybody! Glad to find this reddit thread. I'm moving to Houston this summer from Oregon. I do t know anything about or anybody in Houston, but I know that I'll need new boardgamer friends. So, that's all! Any info about the scene/stores/spots appreciated. Here in the pacific northwest we have a few boardgame cafes where they have a huge library of games and food and beer. Y'all got those?
I have a few decks of DC Deck Building and am hoping to find a regular group to play with. I just recently went to Tea+Victory and really like it and would love to have a regular group to play through my various decks, expansion packs, crossover packs and eventually a Rebirth campaign.
