Hello,
I plan on buying a domain through namecheap for +/- 10euros per year.
I want to then use wordpress.org on that website. I understand that namecheap offers hosting for about 4euros/month, should I go with this?
Is there a reason I should get a hosting plan through somebody else?
What costs am I missing or not seeing? Anything else I need to include?
I would use elementor plug-in to help build the website, probably based off the oceanwp theme.
Thank you for your help and if I sound confused it's because I'm new to this whole thing but eager to learn!
Hi! everyone! I'm new to WordPress and have been experimenting with it for a couple of months now. I recently subscribed to Hostinger to host my site. I haven't bought a domain yet, so I'm using the temporary one provided by Hostinger. The problem I'm facing is that occasionally, about once a week, when I try to access the site, it says it cannot connect.I'm wondering if this issue will persist once the domain is connected. Does anyone know why this issue is happening?
I cleared all the cache in my device and used other device to access the site but faced same issue. After about 4/hours the site works though. I can’t figure to understand what causes this
I just changed nameservers from Siteground to Hawkhost. So I waited for like 8 hours.
My client showed me the “index of” website while mine is still showing the actual website.
Do I need to wait longer? Or I’ll have the other team in the US set up the WordPress site?
Let me know your suggestions. Thanks in advance.
I’m looking to reëvaluate my domain/website/email setup and I’m having trouble getting an overview of the providers available, partially because most seem to offer much more than I’m looking for, specifically:
I don’t care if these are the same service or separate services. In particular a CalDAV calendar is probably unnecessary as my current one is working fine. In total I am not sure if I’m able to get it any cheaper than I currently do, but I’m looking to possibly buy more domains soon and that’d be an opportunity to switch providers. I do find the current one has a terrible interface. At the moment I have:
I am quite happy with my current hosting being on GitHub pages.
Can you help me in finding (an overview of of) (a) provider(s) in this space?
my childhood dream is to build a hosting company. i have servers with good cpu and ram, memory and server room which meets all standards and has a spare part.
RENTOUT or what do you recommend for hosting from scratch?
I got email saying their hiring and it takes me to google forms, asking questions reguarding personal details. I'm unsure if this a scam, but it's pop up in my emails, is this legitimate?
Hi everyone. I've spend some time working on learning how to built a website but I haven't the first clue about hosting one. I primarily use Nextjs and Svelte. I'm trying to develop a site for a school and I just don't know what service to use or how to set it up really.
I want to add CMS later so I'd like a service that would allow for that.
I mostly just want to figure out the key points to take into consideration and common traps to watch out for. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Trying to host on digital ocean droplet and was "admin locked" straight after sign up (with my credit card details). Opened support ticket and still, after 6 months, no one has bothered to even look at it.
What are you guys using for alternatives to digital ocean droplets to host dotnet APIs?
I'm a partner of a business and we have a main business email, let's call it contact@businessname.com. This is currently hosted through PorkBun and it's IMAP.
My business partner and I both login to this account using the same username and password and we both have this email setup on each of our computers running Outlook.
Now my business partner insists on leaving ALL the email in the inbox, even when read. I on the other hand appreciate a nice clean organized email with separate folders.
The issue is that when I organized my Outlook, his seems to be changing as well and it is driving him mad and I had to put all the email back into the inbox.
I created another hosted mailbox with PorkBun, let's call it me@businessname.com as I would imagine I would need to have my own separate mailbox that I could organize in my own way.
Would there be a way for the email to come into both our email accounts, contact@businessname.com & me@businessname.com so that we both get all the incoming emails, but I can organize them without affecting his Outlook?
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Hi, I wish to start a domain name registration company. NO selling webhosting or SSLs etc. Only domain names. How to start?
Does anyone have any experience with hosting a simple website? I feel like $120 a year through places like Go Daddy and HostGator are way too much for a simple personal website. I honestly can’t figure out GitHub hosting.
I want an affordable master reseller plan where the company actually provides tech support when requested.
If you don't know what master reseller plans are, they're plans that let us sell reseller plans ourselves.
I guess my budget is 10$ Monthly, what can I get for that? I tried finding on google but there only seems to be wrong results or untrustworthy.
Want to start a Discourse Forum, which hosting should I choose that would be cheaper than $5 a month.
Hi all,
I live in the UK and current pay £47.99 a month for a reseller account with Heart. Over the years the number of sites I hosted have dwindled to the point it is now just my personal domain which I only use for email, same for my wife's domain and one other domain where I actually host a web site.
Both wife and I use Gmail as our email client, which I'd like to maintain.
How can I reduce my hosting costs and what provider/service would people recommend?
webhost that actually gives out .com/.net/or .org without host name in the url?
I hope I can ask this question here but why do so many people mention to NEVER host a site at Wordpress.com?
I mean without the personal vitriol, are their real tech or biz reason to not??
best or cheapest webhost to host Python Flask?
Namecheap is kinda expensive.. their support told me its 200usd/month for 1TB storage LOL
google wants only 15usd/month for 2TB. but google has no customer support....
Hi there I just bought a domain for a small business idea. Would like to build a small website with mostly basic features. Product pages to describe services. Success stories. Posts and job ads. Any recommendations?
I've been using the same provider (one .com) for over 5 years. I only have a domain with my real name and email. I live in the euro zone, and over the years, the yearly amount went from something in the €30/yr neighbourhood to nearly €100/year.
I started to use that company in the mid-2000s, then I decided to change and all of a sudden I lost access to my email with the new provider. The new provider informed me that there was something I didn't do, which I think is called "changing the name servers". I then cancelled the package and try to go back to one .com and in the process, I ended up losing access to my domain for 3 years.
Now at the same time that I don't want to pay a fortune every year just for a domain that is permanently unused and email, I am very afraid of changing.
All the providers out there have a very complicated pricing structure, whereby they offer a very discounted price for the first year and then "normal" prices when you renew, and often, you don't even get to see what their normal price is on their website.
I only want to have my name's domain parked with use of email and eventually some cloud storage. I need a company that provides thesw services to private individuals, and preferably with the possibility to to pay as mny years upfront as possible (3-5 years).
Any suggestions?
Hey guys, i have a website coded in python and wanted to know if you have any hosting platforms you could recommend me for my website.
Can I use the popular softwares or shoul I use another because of the usage of Python?
Thank you in advance!
Hello!
I've been running ISPConfig for a while now but never in a cluster.
I need a cluster for failover and load balancing
My setup is as follows:
db0.domain.tld as cluster master, SQL host and panel interface
isp0.domain.tld as first mail and web server
isp1.domain.tld as second mail and web server, configured as a mirror for isp0
db1.domain.tld as mariadb replication slave
webfs.domain.tld with open media vault for NFS storage mounted at /var/www and /var/vmail on isp0 and isp1. Both servers have the network filesystem option enabled in the server's config.
Now, I installed ispconfig on isp0, isp1 and db0. They see eachother and communications between them seems to work fine. I do have to mention I used the same SQL root password for all 3 in case it's relevant. (There is no external access to port 3306)
I want to (manually) migrate the sites and emails from the old install (also ispconfig 3) to this cluster. I'd gladly use the isp migration tool but it's too expensive.
The databases as well as the users and clients I already copied over
Problem is that when I migrate wordpress installations I get a 500 internal server error when accessing them. I did see access logs in Apache's logs, but no errors
To migrate wordpress I copied over the */web contents to the new location. I didn't copy the contents of the other folders, like the log folder or the old self signed certificates as I use a proxy. I also did it over SFTP.
I noticed when I create a site I don't have any php versions to select from, except default which I believe is put there by the ispconfig panel.
I tried to manually add php 8.3 for isp0 in the panel interface but it doesn't seem to help, I used the same Fast-CGI and PHP-FPM paths I've seen used in the default php entries for db0.
What did I do wrong?
I have an existing website that was registered a while back, with free mail addresses and support for CalDAV and CardDAV.
I use an Android phone and need advice on finding a hosting service which will enable me to set up Outlook (if possible Teams too) on both Windows and Android with mail, calendar and contacts.
I've tried DAVx5 on Android, installs fine but Outlook doesn't seem to recognise it, so cannot add an account.
CalDav Synchroniser is ok for Outlook on desktop, but not for Android.
Any advice appreciated
I manage a website for a family business via Bluehost. I made the mistake of purchasing our Microsoft email service through Bluehost. They are listed on our account as the reseller. I am trying to move away from Bluehost, and it has been one of the most difficult times to get them to remove themselves from our Microsoft tenant.
Please save yourself some time and go with someone else. You may pay a little more, but it is worth it!!!! Even though Bluehost has phone support, it takes 20 minutes just for their support to say - "I understand the issue and want to help you....". BLuehost is owned by Endurance International Group (EIG). EIG owns a bunch of different companies. I would recommend avoiding ALL of them.
Sorry for the rant
