Best Wordpress Host for photography business?

Hey guys, my mum is a wedding photographer and we hosted her website on WIX. I am now considering moving away from WIX to wordpress and can't figure out who would be the best host for that purpose. Obviously, this won't be a high traffic website, but loading speed is still important.

I am wondering what options I got and which would be the best for that?

CloudAccess hosting?

Has anyone used this company? A client of mine works with a quasi-governmental agency and they are recommending this hosting company for a pending site migration for the 2 sites that I maintain for them. I've never heard of CloudAccess and see a few red flags on their website, particularly in regard to being able to have the EU server that we need but backups are stored on. US-based servers and also how they talk about working with developers (they reference their own in-house team). Any experiences to share?

Good dedicated server hosting in Canada

I’m looking for a secure dedicated server hosted in Canada, with root access to run a Docker container (Postgres DB, Golang APIs, and a few web pages). We don’t need extras like cPanel, just a basic Linux server. Ideally, we could set up a VPN ourselves and prepay for about a year. I’m considering OVHcloud for its pricing but curious about its reliability. Canadian Web Hosting seems pricier, and I’m also exploring Xenyth and Ultahost. Any other Canadian-hosted options you’d recommend?

WP Engine for hosting versus GoDaddy, BlueHost or others

We are migrating a client to our managed services platform and part of that is bringing over their websites (the sites are Word Press). The current IT provided is hosting through WP Engine but they want to charge hundreds of dollars per month, their sales pitch hang up is ‘They do all the work’ (except developing and content) -site backups -WP updates -Layered security -site down monitoring Etc… ‘They have Word Press specialists available 24/7’

Now insert other hosting platforms like Blue or GoDaddy, they will host multiple sites for about $10.00 per month. They seem to offer the same on the surface but it has more of a parking lot feel.

I understand WP’s hand holding at 100% times cost might just be their sales gimmick but that is what I need to find out. So help a fellow techie out here. My questions are:

  1. Those in the know is there truly a value add with WPE to justify the drastic cost difference?
  2. Will we or my client loose out on something by going with a ‘parking lot’ host platform such as GoDaddy?
  3. Is WP the end all and be all of Word Press expertise?
  4. Is using GoDaddy or Blue hosting a setback or they are just as good/much of the same?

Good offshore host for selling apparel?

I've got a printing press and some shirts I'd like to sell. The content printed on these shirts is my own work, which some might call "derivative" or "parody". I'd like to find a host that won't take my site down in the event of any claims. Thanks!

Registrar with Best Delegate Access Support

I do a lot of work on client sites and am going to start offering the option of managing their domain registration for them. I want everything to be on my account, but also want the client to still have access (bus factor). Would also be good if my friend who also works on the sites occasionally can also have his own access.

I've used Namecheap and also GoDaddy, but wanted to get the community's opinion on which registrar's have the best support for shared management of domains?

How do I change my email host with little interruption and not losing all my old emails?

I've been on Bluehost for 15 years and recently had a terrible experience with them. I know they're considered a shit hosting company now vs when I first joined. I switched my website to kinsta but my email is still on bluehost and I want to totally switch and get off Bluehost. I'm looking at switching to MXRoute.

I want to make sure there's little to no interruption in service as I use this email for business. But I also want to make sure I don't lose all my old emails when switching.

Hosting provider not giving me the domain transfer code

Hi guys, first and foremost thanks for the help.

A while ago, i bought one of those offers from a hosting provider that gave me web hosting, a free domain and other things included, i don't know if i can disclose which is the hosting provider.

Basically, after the year had past, i didn't renew the web hosting, but renewed the domain name, since i intended to transfer it to another hosting provider.

The hosting provider, since i didn't pay the web hosting, suspended my account.

Now, when i login in the hosting provider everything is practically blocked minus the option to pay the amount that i owe.

Since i want to transfer the domain away i sent an email asking for the transfer code of the domain.

The response i had was that i had to pay a certain amount for my account being open before the suspension.

I have two questions.

Is is legal to block me from managing my domain because i didn't pay for the web hosting?

And can they just not send me the code to transfer the domain even tho i payed for the domain renewal?

Thanks for all the help!!

The point is, what market expections from hosting industry. Does all expections are completed?

Sever hosting costs, and website hosting ( hosting services) cost really matches with SMEs expectations of going more than that?

Free Identity management solution

I am building a SaaS platform that is available on web and mobile apps. I am considering using some Identity management solution to take care of the authentication & authorization for this. Is there any suggestion for any SaaS service or open-source solution that can be used for or at a meager cost?

Reliablesite.net Scam, deducting money without providing service

On September 1, I bought a server for $109 but was not provided with login information. After 3 days, I contacted support and received an extremely slow and indifferent attitude, so I decided to cancel the service and request a refund.

https://upanh.tv/image/W19VHE

I sent a refund request to Paypal but somehow they won and I did not receive my money back. But the thing is that in the second month, I continued to be charged even though I had canceled the service the previous month.

https://upanh.tv/image/W1HSJZ

They took advantage of Paypal's automatic payment mechanism and deducted my money. In the third month, they continued to bill me but probably could not deduct the money because my Paypal account was out of money.

I hope everyone stays away from An to avoid experiences like mine. This is a fraudulent service provider, deducting money even when it does not provide any service. Please block your card or cancel automatic payment if you have canceled the service here.

Hosting server plans for a ticket selling and live streaming website

I am trying on a project Wordpress website that has similarities with ticketmaster for selling tickets for upcoming local events and livestreaming events at the same time. What might be the best server hosting plans that can accommodate large amount of visitors for the live stream and ticket selling?

Is it a good practice to host two websites under one business web hosting plan?Hostinger

Hey, First of all, I want to apologize for my ignorance. I would like to add a website to my business web hosting plan, but I wanted to know how having two websites on the same plan will affect their speeds. Specifically, will it reduce the speed of the websites? Are there any disadvantages, or are there none?

Anyone here else on Ultahost and had or have problems with creating a (mysql) data base ?

I have problems creating a MySQL database there, even a simple one.

Also another question, I have a monthly subscription, do I still need to cancel it? I find a bit confusing here
I gotta say I love the overall design and UI of Ultahost, it's clean and very user friendly, but some things give me a bit of headache sometimes

Namecheap Screwed me...

I had never used them before. I already have hosting on DreamHost, Google, and several other platforms, but I figured I’d give it a try because it was really cheap. So, I bought a domain, hosting, and SSL from them. Everything went fine at first, I set it up, verified it with ICANN, etc.

Then, I got an email saying I needed to verify some number from my bank statement, like a transaction ID. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the email in time, and within a day, they had frozen the account and issued a refund. In doing so, they refunded the hosting and domain registration but not the SSL. Now, I can’t buy the domain again because it’s probably still registered with ICANN, which means I can’t transfer it in for the next 90 days or so.

Basically, it left me completely stuck. I’m requesting a refund for the SSL, but the whole situation is incredibly frustrating.

Migrating website to new host but only have shop manager role

Been looking online to transfer website to new hosting because I’m paying almost £200 a year which seems excessive. But when looking online how to move they say to go into plugins tab on the dashboard but I don’t see it. Then having a google says that only admin has access to the backend for adding plugins and exporting website But before I have to start chasing around for the person who made the website for us who is current away It’s an e commence site/using woo commerce Any help would be appreciated

What I have currently With nethosted Pay for webmax £184 And ssl £65 For the year, It’s small part of the business not the focus maybe has 5k visitors a month. Most are returning customers. It’s for a local service around 20miles radius from where we are based

Can I have a legit opinion on Hostinger please?

I see so much about how they are either awful or great, and people always want to say the great opinions are paid. I get that and it's ok.

But I've been looking for a new host since my current plan expires in Jan and I need to expand anyways. I can only have 2 domains, 2 databases and there's no staging space. Customer service has been good and I generally have no complaints, but I need an upgrade and I ran into an ad about Hostinger's deal that's running right now. 4 years will cost me about twice what the next year at my current host would with a massive capacity and services upgrade.

It looks very impressive and affordable. I could especially use the staging space as I want to build something sort of complicated and practicing on something besides the live site would be great.

I have 2 sites I'm managing right now built with Word Press using only fairly basic tools. One is a portfolio with a WooCommerce store and another is a knowledgebase that will be expanding to a membership site with a forum and will probably also have a store. There will eventually be a site that has a course for sale and a forum for the people who have bought it.

The knowledgebase could get a lot of traffic, it will be supporting a community of almost 500k people, but it will also be mostly static in the public space and I figure a good cache and CDN should take care of most of that. We don't know yet what sort of traffic the membership side will get as it's still in planning stage.

So...real pros and cons for someone still learning and growing? What pitfalls should I be aware of, and do you think this host will meet my needs as I build out what I and my client have in mind?

Thanks!

Any domain registrar suggestions?

My site is set up with Big Cartel. I thought that my domain was working properly as I was able to see my website under Chrome > I failed to realize that it didn't work on like any other browser. Apparently, the domain isn't redirecting to my website properly and I would have to change my plan to one that is waaay (I spent $12/year) more expensive to fix it with the domain registrar (WordPress) >so I thought that it would make more sense to look elsewhere.

For context:

  1. I'm looking for a reliable domain registration to keep my domain that can redirect to my site without needing to buy different packages/plug-ins to get it to work.
  2. I don't really need fancy extras, but I would like WHOSIS protection.
  3. Reasonable customer support> I tried reaching out to OVH with some follow up questions and a) it is ridiculous to try and find a phone number then b) when I tried to do the they contact me>The rep basically ghosted me after I said when I'd be available to set up a call.

Does anyone know a relatively reasonably priced place that doesn't have hidden fees or idk something super shady that is reliable? My subdomain is so long and I'd like for it to look more professional to try and get sales.
