About 8 years ago I found an Hosting service that fit my program great. I’ve been happy with their support and the many tools that I have can use for no cost.
Hey, First of all, I want to apologize for my ignorance. I would like to add a website to my business web hosting plan, but I wanted to know how having two websites on the same plan will affect their speeds. Specifically, will it reduce the speed of the websites? Are there any disadvantages, or are there none?
I tried hosting my node js with mysql database in Cpanel. Everything works fine for 3 days . After that it shows server error . Anyone knows how to fix this?
I have problems creating a MySQL database there, even a simple one.
Also another question, I have a monthly subscription, do I still need to cancel it? I find a bit confusing here
I gotta say I love the overall design and UI of Ultahost, it's clean and very user friendly, but some things give me a bit of headache sometimes
I had never used them before. I already have hosting on DreamHost, Google, and several other platforms, but I figured I’d give it a try because it was really cheap. So, I bought a domain, hosting, and SSL from them. Everything went fine at first, I set it up, verified it with ICANN, etc.
Then, I got an email saying I needed to verify some number from my bank statement, like a transaction ID. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the email in time, and within a day, they had frozen the account and issued a refund. In doing so, they refunded the hosting and domain registration but not the SSL. Now, I can’t buy the domain again because it’s probably still registered with ICANN, which means I can’t transfer it in for the next 90 days or so.
Basically, it left me completely stuck. I’m requesting a refund for the SSL, but the whole situation is incredibly frustrating.
I'm doing some small business and needed to make a website. After reading some reddit pages, decided to make in WordPress. People say you need hosting, but don't know which I should choose. Can you recommed which I should use for affordable price?
Been looking online to transfer website to new hosting because I’m paying almost £200 a year which seems excessive. But when looking online how to move they say to go into plugins tab on the dashboard but I don’t see it. Then having a google says that only admin has access to the backend for adding plugins and exporting website But before I have to start chasing around for the person who made the website for us who is current away It’s an e commence site/using woo commerce Any help would be appreciated
What I have currently With nethosted Pay for webmax £184 And ssl £65 For the year, It’s small part of the business not the focus maybe has 5k visitors a month. Most are returning customers. It’s for a local service around 20miles radius from where we are based
I see so much about how they are either awful or great, and people always want to say the great opinions are paid. I get that and it's ok.
But I've been looking for a new host since my current plan expires in Jan and I need to expand anyways. I can only have 2 domains, 2 databases and there's no staging space. Customer service has been good and I generally have no complaints, but I need an upgrade and I ran into an ad about Hostinger's deal that's running right now. 4 years will cost me about twice what the next year at my current host would with a massive capacity and services upgrade.
It looks very impressive and affordable. I could especially use the staging space as I want to build something sort of complicated and practicing on something besides the live site would be great.
I have 2 sites I'm managing right now built with Word Press using only fairly basic tools. One is a portfolio with a WooCommerce store and another is a knowledgebase that will be expanding to a membership site with a forum and will probably also have a store. There will eventually be a site that has a course for sale and a forum for the people who have bought it.
The knowledgebase could get a lot of traffic, it will be supporting a community of almost 500k people, but it will also be mostly static in the public space and I figure a good cache and CDN should take care of most of that. We don't know yet what sort of traffic the membership side will get as it's still in planning stage.
So...real pros and cons for someone still learning and growing? What pitfalls should I be aware of, and do you think this host will meet my needs as I build out what I and my client have in mind?
Thanks!
My site is set up with Big Cartel. I thought that my domain was working properly as I was able to see my website under Chrome > I failed to realize that it didn't work on like any other browser. Apparently, the domain isn't redirecting to my website properly and I would have to change my plan to one that is waaay (I spent $12/year) more expensive to fix it with the domain registrar (WordPress) >so I thought that it would make more sense to look elsewhere.
For context:
Does anyone know a relatively reasonably priced place that doesn't have hidden fees or idk something super shady that is reliable? My subdomain is so long and I'd like for it to look more professional to try and get sales.
For 2 domains
I have like 200+ daily active users on my app, thinking to migrate to a VPS, which provider is the best, and which config should i pick, (Will be self-hosting many other services)
I want to host a small database on MySQL for a small application size of databases, which would be around 20. mb Do you have any suggestions for managed MySQL hosting?
I'll build a site that will host lots of downloadable files. In this case, I need unlimited data transfer with high download speed. Are there any hosting services that can give me that option without too much monthly fee? or should I host all files at AWS S3?
Hi /hosting community,
I’m preparing a proposal for a Fortune 1000 company looking to transition from WordPress VIP to a managed WordPress hosting provider. We’re seeking a high-end, high-availability solution that can offer a seamless, hands-off experience with top-tier support.
Here’s a bit more about what we’re looking for:
• Fully Managed Hosting: We need a provider that offers comprehensive management, including automated updates, backups, and security, without needing an in-house server setup.
• High Availability & Reliability: The platform should be equipped to handle high traffic loads with minimal downtime. Strong SLAs for uptime and redundancy are essential.
• Exceptional Support: Our current experience with ticket-only support has been slow and limited in depth. We’re looking for a provider with fast, technically proficient support accessible through multiple channels (live chat, phone, etc.).
• WordPress Optimization & Flexibility: This is an existing WordPress site that may scale further. The provider should have strong WordPress expertise and the ability to support complex configurations and plugins while ensuring site performance.
We’re aiming to find a provider that can serve as a strategic partner with responsive, real-time support and an all-inclusive managed setup. If you have experience with providers that fit this profile, or know of any recommendations, I’d appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance for your help!
I have websites being maintained on behalf of my customers. Until a while ago they were on a small managed hosting with low prices and I was doing very well except that they started to increase prices, reduce resources leading the sites to slow down a lot.
I then moved one of the most important sites to H#######r and saw a substantial increase in performance for the same cost, I then considered moving all the other sites as well but they have email plans that are prohibitive. I give you the example of a small site with 20 mailboxes that would require a recurring cost, just for mail, of 720€/year.
I'm therefore asking you if you know of and would like to recommend me some good managed web hosting with low prices for both mails and the site. It would be optimal if it had a good out of the box caching system like that of H#######r, isolated sites and a good management panel like Plesk.
Hey guys,
So last post I made was about the upcoming web hosting control panel that we are going to launch in few time.
So let me clear something:
This post is not about comparing cPanel, Directadmin or any other panel. Yes, I known there are alternatives, but we can try to build a more better software! The pricing part is not final yet, so will need suggestions. This will be a full featured panel meaning it will have a user interface and admin interface seperately (something like WHM)
I want some suggestions on the features and pricing part for our software.
Anything else you want to add will definatly help us to make our panel more better.
In the next post I will share some screenshots of the panel!
Thanks
Recommended VPS hosting with the FF requirements:
Hello. I've seen quite a few tutorials that teach you how to create a web hosting website with WHMCS, but found pretty much none on how to do it with Blesta. Is it the same prcoess? Can someone walk me through the steps to do it? Do I need a specific theme?
Title says it all, I’m looking for a cheap or free panel for both vps and game server. Are there any or do I need to use two?
Hello guys! Namaste 🙏
Okay, so I am working on buildung a cPanel / WHM alternative from last couple of months and have almost completed with it. It was a hell big project for me and my team, and soon we will make it public.
With this post today I want to share and collect some information which will help everyone with a better product!
What made me build this?
So, i am into hosting business from last 8 years, in this period I got to know that there is no good alternative for cPanel / WHM. (Directadmin is there but nah)
And as the pricing model of cPanel was drastically changing by the time. I made my mind to build an alternative of this.
What makes your panel better than cPanel?
Well, over the period of time. cPanel has evolved a much, and added a hell lot of features which we rarely use. With our panel we have kept it straightforward, less mess, powerfull features and a damn clean UI makes us better. A panel anyone can get used to easily!
What about pricing?
Well, I know how it felt when cPanel introduced there per account basis pricing, i was like "why the hell I will pay share from my clients money to cPanel?"
So why the hell should we keep account basis license? Tho, we have accounts limit with an unlimited accounts plan too which will cost max around $40/month.
I am free for discussion if anyone wants to push any idea or have questions, even if you are getting exicited just let me know :)
Hi, I'm looking for WordPress hosting recommendations for my photography site. It currently gets low-moderate volume of local traffic, so I don't need top of the line specs.
I'm currently using Reclaim Hosting and it's very slow, which is why I'm looking to switch. Right now I'm leaning towards SiteGround with their 2-year promotional price.
I'd like to stay under $10/month, but all recommendations are appreciated!
I want to build a site for my wife's photography portfolio and from my research, WP Engine seems to be a good option (price and feature wise). From what I've read, they had a Black Friday and Cyber Monday discount last year, but is it worth waiting for? We're kinda excited to start this little website project but we can wait a month or two if it means saving a bit more cash
I know you guys see this type of post quite a bit here, however I think I have a few things that could set me apart.
I currently offer a full-service managed website solution for local businesses, it’s basically $100/mo. for me to host, manage, design etc. a website. It appeals to the business owners who want a website but don’t want to pay thousands for a custom design when I can just throw up a Wordpress theme, make some changes and they have a website with everything done for them white they can work on their main business. I make roughly $1000/mo. from the few clients I have and after the initial setup, most of my clients are relatively low maintenance which is why I’m looking at outsourcing it, see below.
I want to offer this as a service as part of the new business however I do want to potentially move to outsourcing that process and just focus on the hosting portion of the business. I want to do this as I’m a full time system admin/network admin and have worked part-time at a very well known hosting service that provides dedicated servers so I do have some decent experience with the billing systems as well as the integrations.
I believe something that could make us stand out is offering ANY kind of hosting. Everything from web hosting, to application hosting, dedicated servers, VPS, game servers etc. If you want it hosted, we’ll find a way to do it. (It would Need to be legal and adhere to the ToS of course.) I’m not sure how viable this is so I wanted opinions.
I wanted to know your guys thoughts, is this something that is still doable? I’m open to any kind of suggestions and constructive criticism.
I am getting really tired of always having my site down because they say it was attacked by a malware ...there is always a malware. They have restored my backup a million times and I am getting fed up.
Can someone recommend a better alternative to Namecheap that is probably the same cost and is probably a lot more secure. This is affecting my business.
I’m planning to launch a website soon for my freelance design work and am researching web hosting options. I’ve heard that Black Friday can be a great time to snag discounts, but I’m not sure if the deals are actually that big or worth waiting for. For those who’ve grabbed hosting deals around Black Friday, are the discounts any good?
In India, Upcoming days diwali sales will start. where some hosting companies are offering 24% off on vps and dedicated server hosting. I am sharing website links in the comment section.
Hey Everyone. Just some hosting questions (I'm a novice when it comes to hosting). I know GoDaddy isn't the preferred server for the cost-averse, but I opted for it because of it's trust and deliverability when it comes to email outreach.
Now, I'm faced with the need to upgrade to a dedicated server (Gen4 8CPU, 16GB RAM), and my only worry is that the dedicated servers don't have the trusted seal of being a known GoDaddy server (the way their managed Wordpress sites are, for example).
Will email hosts like Gmail and Outlook recognize my emails as coming from a GoDaddy server if I'm on one of their dedicated servers?
Is it outsourced?
How will it affect my current Google Rank?
I have a problem that's driving me nuts. I have a domain registered on Strato which is forwarded to Webwave.me (via NS-servers). I want to add something to the TXT records of the registration on Strato, but it says that option is 'inactive' due to my DNS-configuration. I have reset my DNS-records, but the option is still inactive.
All I can find in the Strato Help-files is how to set that TXT-record, but there's no information what to do if that's not possible.
Help is very much appreciated.
I have been developing a website for my client, but every time I want to showcase it, I have to migrate it to his computer using the AIO WP Migration plugin.
Are there any free methods to host a WordPress website, similar to how we can host static sites on GitHub Pages?
For your information, I’ve already tried converting the website into a static version and hosting it on GitHub Pages, but it often distorts the original design and doesn't work as expected.
