Season 2 Ep 5 - Autumn Splendor - For the longest, I was curious (and a lot of other BRJP fans) as to the origin and availability of the "Paint Gun" he used to do the branches. It went by the wayside, as nobody could figure the puzzle out. Maybe something he tinkered with. I just saw a YT vide with the author trying to figure it out. He has come up with a grease gun. I didn't like that idea. so I went digging and found something on Amazon. It looks like it would be great for the paint gun solution.
It is under $15 and has several (4) hypo style syringes available as accessories. It is manually operated. So no batteries or plugs. Called a "Dispenser Glue Gun". I cant wait to try one.
I used nylon brushes and did not have 3 colors I needed but happy with my first painting. Any constructive criticism from keener eyes?
This painting just evolved and changed I kept going back to it for months because it was fun to add too. In the end I over did it and kind of wrecked it but I kinda like the look of it at this stage.
Bought this with the sale this weekend on bob Ross.com and while obviously it hasn’t had time to process and ship I’m concerned because it says order completed on the website. Is this normal for them? Haven’t ordered before.
I can't find it in myself to put paint on the canvas. I was fairly prolific half a decade ago. Ive been watching hours of tutorials again but I guess I'm just so hung up on not loving the results. It's not cool, I've made paintings my relatives proudly display in their homes! I've even just considered going abstract and just playing with colors. What gets you motivated to give it a go even if you know it might be a challenge?
There’s a great post listing the colors, brushes, etc that you need to follow a Bob Ross video on this sub, I know. However, I’ve read that I shouldn’t just get an “official” Bob Ross set of paint because the guy scammed Ross’s family or something like that.
Also, trying to buy 12 specific tubes of paint for 8 dollars each is pricey, and trying to cross reference the colors in a set of paints is tough.
Are there any specific recommendations of a set of paints with the 12 ‘standard’ colors? Maybe something I can get on Amazon or somewhere online? I can find the thinner, brushes, etc no problem, but I’m overwhelmed trying to find the paints! It’s for a Christmas gift for my wife.
Thanks!
My take on one of Bob Ross' contact paper paintings.
A nice pair of hooters 😋
Back on the canvas after a frustration hiatus. Lesson learned: get back on the horse quicker. Cuz this crap is FUN!! Thx to Paul Ranson for the inspo.
I haven’t painted for awhile and started to get back into. I’m rusty that’s for sure.
