A mustache helps.
Hats also help, or anything that interferes with the cat's own prerogative.
Hairless cats are by default grumpy. Or exotic breeds.

Foster cat did not approve of his bath!
My most recent foster, Chester, needed a bath after pooping on his tail & it became super dry and matted....... Given it was out of shelter hours, my only option was bathing him, because he was getting increasingly frustrated. He was so well behaved. But afterwards, he was NOT impressed! 😬😬😬
