Hi Grenada locals! My wife and I are planning to be on your beautiful island for a honeymoon in a couple of weeks (November 13-22). The weather forecast says it’s likely to rain from 11am-4pm every day, with mostly grey skies. Is this true?
We don’t mind the rain so much, but we are hoping it won’t be grey all day and that we can enjoy the beach/sunshine a good amount.
Should we be concerned?
Thank you so much for any insight you can share!
(And btw, how do YOU pronounce “Grenada”? I have heard it several different ways and want to be correct :)
Planning a honeymoon for the first week of October 2025 to this lovely island. I realize it's hurricane season but geography of the island doesn't have big storms hitting that far south most times. One in every 20 years or so the island will get hit. I know Berly just went through this year so I wouldn't expect another coming that low in quite some time. With that being said, if a hurricane does not approach the island during said timeframe, how is the weather generally in October? Not afraid of some rain, especially since it's more of a rain forest type of place, but hoping the sun is out after the morning rain showers so we can enjoy the beach, pools, and some great spots.
Hey guys! I look at gaming cultures around the world and I am a racing game fan. I have asked all of these questions on different subreddits, simply because I am curious about how each and every single country on this planet experiences video games. I am also curious about gaming in Grenada. My questions are:
What is more popular? PC or console?
What was more popular in the late 90s and early 2000s? PC or Console?
What racing game was popular in the late 90s and early 2000s!
What do racing game fans in Grenada play today?-(I get it might not be the most popular genre, but for people who like it, what do they play?)
In general, what games are played there?
Thanks for your responses!!!!
Hello!
Ill be visiting Grenada (from usa) with 1-2 family members for 10 days including New Years Eve.
I planned on staying in an Air Bnb. My questions were
Which currency should I use? Will my debit card work?
What are some must see/do things? Any notable New Years celebrations?
Any tips on making the trip easier or local tips to fully enjoy the trip?
Thanks so much for your help!
We are a family of 4, kids 8 & 10.
Should we do an all inclusive ? Or is there too much to see and many restaurants to try?
Where do you recommend we stay? Is it easy to get around? Lots of beaches?
Last year we went to st Martin and didn't do an all inclusive. Traveled to different beaches and restaurants. Wondering if Grenada is similar ?
Thanks so much!
Hey guys and girls,
what modes of transportation can you use on the island? Do you guys have uber or something similar? From my uber app I am not sure whether there are actual rides in st georges.
Kind regards :)
If anyone who sells this hmu
Husband and I are looking at Grenada for our warm weather getaway and I've narrowed in on the Silversands properties. Looking for opinions on which one is preferred- the original or the new Beach House?
We visited Grenada last year and are coming back in January. We visited the island of Carriacou for one day and immediately knew we wanted to spend more time there.
Is Carriacou open to tourism and is it welcome at this point post Beryl?
If so any recommendations on where to stay?
A group of 4 of us will be visiting Grenada for a long weekend (Thanksgiving). We will be landing on 4PM Thursday and taking off 5PM Sunday so a quick trip, but we are very excited for the warm weather and beaches!
Does anyone have any advise on structuring an itinerary for a short trip like this — would you still advise a (half)day trip to Carriacou? We plan on staying near the new NAWASA building. Would a car rental be recommended? I know roads are not the easiest to navigate but we’re fairly comfortable but obviously don’t know exactly how difficult it will be. Also open to relocating to be closer if Gran Anse is worth the significant price difference. Lastly, we’re all vegetarians. Any recommendations at all? I have yet to see any on the sub! Thank you guys so much!
Does anyone knows where to get remote jobs online or in Grenada mainly like customer service jobs etc. Or jobs where we can work at night or something?
Does anybody know how it might be possible to buy a large quantity of US energy drinks in Grenada for a relatively cheap price? Its really expensive at grocery and convenience stores.
Hello! My partner and I are planning a vacation after a very busy summer. We're from Canada, so we're looking forward to some down time in the warmer weather.
We really only have flights set in stone. We were looking for something in the Caribbean and round trip flights to Grenada were a steal, so we booked them and figured we'd plan afterwards. There seems to be so much to see and to do. We'd like to do some snorkeling/diving if possible. Neither have our diving certs, is there anywhere that would be recommended to take a diving certification course?
I'm much more of a "winging it", while they're more of a "I need a plan".
Recommendations for places to stay, areas to see/avoid, or ways to spend time would all be appreciated. There are so many options. I'd want to just pick an area and explore around there, but I think we'll need at least a few main activities/things to do.
If you have any recommendations, we'd really appreciate it! We're working with a fairly blank canvas.
Hey,
My partner and I will be visiting in about 2 weeks and are wondering if we should rent a car or stick to taxis and haylup?
For additional context we’ve reserved two cars incase, a subcompact SUV and a sedan. But it would be just myself driving and I know driving is on the left side of the road. The total cost of the rental for 8 days is bout $450 or $700 for the SUV (not including gas).
So we’re wondering if it’s better to just take taxis around? We’ll be staying in the st George’s are of Grenada and are planning to hit major attractions like the waterfalls and national park, while also doing snorkeling excursions for the day.
I’d be open to getting a private day driver if the math makes sense but not really sure how to go about finding one. Any info or tips is appreciated.
Looking to go to hog island for the lobster boil in the next couple of days, I’ve been before but someone else organized everything.
Does anyone know when the lobster guy is there? Is it every day?
Does anybody know a way to contact/ reserve one of those little boats for transport from secret harbor?
Does anyone know when live music is happening ?
Thanks so much in advance
Super excited to be headed to Grenada in a couple weeks.
In the past I’ve been able to convert my Canadian dollars to Eastern Caribbean dollars at my bank before I travel.
All our Canadian banks have discontinued offering XCD. Even the currency exchange at the Toronto airport isn’t carrying XCD anymore.
I have read in multiple places that there is no longer an ATM or currency exchange at the airport. Is this still the case?
In which case, my options are trade at our hotel front desk at an abysmal rate, or, find an ATM.
I will probably skip the airport transfer and hire a taxi driver who would be able to take us to an ATM prior to the hotel.
Google isn’t being very helpful, it is showing two ATM’s on the island in the north. I cannot believe this is true!!
How far will I have to travel from the airport to get to an ATM?
As title says, how accurate is the weather report I'm seeing? Is it really that bad or is it more like Florida where it rains for a few minutes and then clears up?
Husband is celebrating a special birthday this weekend & I’m looking for ideas. He’s not into drinking or partying, prefers outdoor activities or experiences (he can dive but I can’t swim haha).
We don’t have a car but are in True Blue/St. George area & could rent a taxi to travel if it is the perfect idea.
Thank you very much. 🙏🏼
Are there any ganpots and edwards who know their family tree or history? I have a great great grandfather who had the name edwards. He was of Indian descent and I am looking for more info about his family.
We’re open to anything!
